I always use sound leveling anymore. I started using it when I was watching HBO MAX and the voice was almost inaudible, but the others sounds were really loud. It made the audio MUCH better. Now I never turn it off.

9:14 is very important, and I was waiting to see if you would mention it. Imagine buying a new large Smart TV for an older person with poor eyesight, but they don't care about streaming, and don't want to learn how to navigate it. You can set it to automatically turn on to TV mode so they can watch their old antenna reruns and not get lost!

QUESTION: I have a Roku device on one TV. I know how to make a "Favorites" menu. But on my other TV, it has "Google Live TV" pre-installed. I do not have a Roku Device installed on that TV. However, I did download the "Roku Channel" appl. This lets me watch all the Roku Live Channels on my Hisense Google TV. Is there a way for me to specifically enter channel numbers or create a "Favorites" number rather than using the up/down arrows? The Hisense Google TV remote does not have "number" buttons and does not have an "asterisk" button for "Favorites."

Excellent Roku tips. I've been using the Roku and Firestick smartphone apps for a while. It helps with complex passwords, emails, and if your batteries are dead in the regular remotes.

The only problem I am having with ROKU...is ...I can't use BLUETOOTH EARBUDS...with this new roku tv, i got less than 4 days ago...and there is no connection for it either and I've search all over the settings and no bluetooth option available....... I don't like having to use my phone app (power) to listen to roku. Yeah..I am thinking about trading in roku for a different brand.

I am a beginner...for the most part. I've got my TV running...and i'm setting up a second TV. I was looking at the comment below about being older with bad eyesight...lol I'll just say I'm over 65, but I can see...lol. I do have a large TV that I'm using the ROKU device with my wifi internet. I just bought a smaller TV (40" 1080p) It's a ROKU smart TV. Do I use a coaxil cable to hook up to my TV and wifi? without having to add cable?...sort of like my other TV with the ROKU device? Reminding myself about the sound leveling at night. How do I find my ROKU pin? Or my KZbin password? We never turn it off. yikes....

I'm not sure if you can go through your roku like that, but you can connect your laptop to your TV with an hdmi cable and watch them that way.

Don't think about buying this in Europe... I got it, and the channels in Romania are sHIT. I got Disney, prime, HBO max, paramount, netflx...... and absolutely no support. You cant add channels, you cant search and I have the latest update. Netflix, Spotify and KZbin, these are the only ones that work. I lost features and channels from one update to another..... no rollbacks to previous firmware, factory settings didn't do shit.... Basically, I payed money for nothing..... last Roku products for me.

I have a non-smart TV and I have plugged the device to the rear of the TV but it is not something I can access easily which creates my first road block: Update the device? How? in the scenario I am currently facing, I must use a thumb drive, download the update to it, then plug that to the back of the TV (blindly) and that updates the device using the TV? Why can't I update this tiny Roku to my desktop, and easily plug it back into the TV? Anyway.... trying to make a non-smart TV work with Roku!!

I ordered a Roku stick for my Vizio set and would like to know how to change the television inputs so I can use the disc player. Everything I see is using a TCL Roku which is pointless for me. Firestick I only have to use the voice and say switch input or the port I want to change to. So how do you switch tv inputs with Roku? That would be a tip I could use not screen themes.

Question: I have a TCL series 6 Roku Tv and was having surround sound issues (CEC/HDMI). I found an obscure post saying their Chromecast was messing with the CEC/HDMI and having no sound coming from the speakers. They said they just removed the Chromecast device (HDMI) and now the surround sound was working. Well, I tried this tip and yes, it worked. My surround sound is now functioning. Before the CEC stated “no devices located”…now it sees the SONY Receiver. Do you know why this would be? And how I can hook up my Mii Box with Chromecast and still have sound through the receiver/speaker system? I’m stumped.

These TCL flatscreen Roku TVs occasionally go crazy. You could try doing a complete factory reset located in the system's menu. Mine one day for no good reason decided that I had no WiFi.

I haven’t had any audio (CEC/HDMI) issues since I’ve taken the Android box w/Chromecast off my TCL ROKU TV system via the TCL’s HDMI. I don’t understand why connecting the Chromecast/Android box via HDMI would cause a audio issue with my TV. It’s just weird.

You don't need cable, just internet. I've even read that you can use a Roku device without internet if you use your smart phone and a hot spot but anyone who wants to do that needs to google for further information on that.
