I prefer the 3D variants where the support is to the side. This pillar in the middle is just a touch too awkward.

The move on 2:01 contradicts the rule on 2:08. The queen is threatening that king square. Is it ok if the king is already in check?
@veggiet20092 жыл бұрын
What Missu said. The key difference is that the king was already being threatened at 2:01 so the move wasn't moving it into a threat
@lildtrz2 жыл бұрын
when escaping check or checkmate its legal i suppose
@DragonTheOne2 жыл бұрын
It's just the king cant move into a king square that's threatened

@Missu an exception within an exception that isn't specifically stated is very flimsy. Seems more appropriate to think he made an error in his demonstration.

You can move into check and then change levels as long as changing levels moves you back out of check

Overly complicated, but then I like the steam game 5D chess with time traveling, which may be more complicated in some ways. But the rules are nearly identical to chess, you just have to grok how pieces move in multiple dimensions, like how knights move in 2 dimensions, and queens move in 3 dimensions. And you have to understand the rules for moving to the past, which are simply stated, but hard to understand sometimes. In summary, 5D time traveling chess has less rules, but the ramifications of the rules can be mind boggling ( if you think I am dumb, and maybe I am, go watch people like Hikaru Nakamura try to understand the game :) So the 5D game is perhaps harder, but in terms of memorization, easier if you already know chess.

Black pawn : I "en passant" you White pawn : nope... I'm above you Black pawn : *flies to the same square as white pawn and kill him Also black pawn : move down level on the same turn WHITE KING : IS THAT EVEN LEGAL!!?
@erickpoorbaugh67282 жыл бұрын
En passant is viewed as going back and interrupting your opponent’s move. So your opponent’s pawn never actually made it to the other level because your pawn captured it after it took its first step on the level your pawn was on.

Hello on the next adjoining level at the end of the move up one level for white and down, one level for black, with the following exceptions one the destination space on the next level must be vacant, if it is blocked, then the piece doesn't change levels too, the king has the space chess how to play, the rules are the same as regular chess, except for these changes for refresher of those rules check out this video, lay out the board with each level oriented, so the board notations line up on top of each other, set up the black pieces on board a and the white pieces on board see on each pieces first move of the game, that piece must transfer to the same relative space on the next adjoining level at the end of the move up one level for white and down, one level for black, with the following exceptions one the destination space on the next level must be vacant. If it is blocked then the peace doesn't change levels too the king has the option of staying on its current level if you want and if you Castle you can choose to keep the rook and king on the same level or move them both to the next level the king and rock must stay together you may not change levels for just one of them. Three if your king is in check, then you may use a pieces first move and remain on the same level if it stops the threat for. If a piece is first move, lands on a star space that piece may move to either of the two other levels, if you want. After a pieces first move the only way for it to change levels is by ending a turn on a star square. If it does, it can move to the same relative vacant star square on either level if you want, it doesn't matter if a piece is in between pieces may only move between levels after their normal move is complete, they may not change levels before moving. Pieces may only capture enemy pieces that start the move on the same level. You may not capture a cross levels if you capture a piece on a star space then after capturing you may move levels if you want. The king square is a special square that allows either king to move exactly one level up or down to the same relative location if that's where it's vacant, if you want the king is allowed to move to an adjacent king square and change levels to escape, check or Checkmate the king cannot move to a star or king square that is threatened even if the space. Likewise, a king cannot travel to another level if the destination space is threatened. Ponds promote like normal when they reach the opposite side of any board level on poisson is allowed like normal, even if the pond being captured changed levels at the end of its move. The frame holding up the board does not block or impede movements.

What if there's an enemy rook on H1, and your king is at G1? Can you go to the king space on F1 to escape the check? (When you start a move, the king space isn't "in check", so according to your explanation it should be legal?)
@giovannilloretsorribas28362 жыл бұрын
It's legal only if you change levels too
