I've watched about 6 or 7 how-to-set-nocking-point videos. While the others are very good videos, this one is by far the most comprehensive and useful, especially for a beginner like me. I will be referring to this a few more times in the future. Great instruction, guys!

I've found using a very tight "walking" nock point helps when bare shaft tuning for nock height. I'm able to fire an end, adjust my nock point by screwing it down or up the serving and shoot another end until it is in line with my fletched arrows. Once I have my walking nock point in the right location, I'll tie in a permanent nock point underneath, cut the walking nock off, load an arrow and tie the top nocking point.

@bltefft 5 жыл бұрын
Me, too. I don't remove my tied in nocking points, I just "screw" them up or down the string. When I get it where I want it, I make my last knot a square knot and burn it off. I do it to both nocking points.

If you tie those on right, you can twist them up and down your serving. Been doing it that way for over 30 years. Never had to cut one off and redo it. This is the whole deal about a tied on nocking point, is the sustainability of the tied on nock up or down the bow string serving. Just screws up or down. Makes it super nice to dial in super precise. Also, no need for a lower nocking point. Just an upper. Wrap it 6-8 times and you have plenty to grab on to to twist it up and down the serving. With split finger, you have 2 fingers pushing up on the arrow nock, so no need for that lower nocking point.

Great series of tuning videos guys. You can tell Beiter that you’re responsible for the sale of at least one bow vice (great piece of kit) and I also bought a Formula X riser based on the ease of alignment tuning your video demonstrates (the Faktor is a bitch to tune with those fiddly shims). Bit of a shoutout for Hoyt, the bow was in perfect alignment (using MK Mach X limbs) straight out of the box.

Hi, The hardest thing I find when setting up a new bow, is getting the arrow rest to stick on straight and level. Any tips or thoughts on doing a video on how to make sure the arrow rest is stuck on correctly? Thanks Daniel
@TripleTroubleArchery
@TripleTroubleArchery 6 жыл бұрын
Make sure you clean the surface you’re gonna stick the rest to. Then put the button in the hole so you’re sure that the rest will be aligned with the button. It doesn’t matter if you stick the rest on perfectly straight or tilted a little backwards. Tilting the rest a bit backwards will give the supporting arm a bit of a slope and your arrow will stay in its place easier. Does this help you? Cheers!

Quick question, doing nocking point with some extra space within it when an arrow is nocked is what I am taught to do. Which makes sense to me because when you pull the string back the nocking points kinda squeeze together(resulting in the nock sitting perfectly in between the nocking point). Seeing you do the nocking point with absolutely no spaces in between when an arrow is nocked makes me wonder why you would do that, since then the nock will be squeezed tightly by the nocking points when it is strung?

@davidhefner5668
@davidhefner5668 4 жыл бұрын
People are using "nocking point" and "nocking height" interchangeably. I believe this is where confusion begins.. The nocking height is the measurement to the bottom of the top nock. The nocking point it where the center of the shaft meets the string. This would be the distance downward equal to 1/2 the diameter of the arrow nock itself.
@barryrowbotham1

So your arrows are not square with arrows rest slightly higher? Only just got a bow I have just been sighting 90 degrees so far from arrow sitting on rest point but that’s quite anoyying because I have to turn the bow sideways to sight it. Might do this so I can be more consistent
