@Tripp.... I just started watching this video, and man, at 7:09, I had that same feeling when I first moved to NYC....and even though I had that feeling, plus the constant red flags.... I said I would rock with it and thug it out..... Man, I wish I wouldn't have been so damn stubborn..... but man, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. the fact that you found the douche and rush on the first day after being there, that is the moment it should have ended. You deserve better than that man. He could've at least been man enough to just break up with you and been honest about the long distance relationship. I'm pretty sure that if the tables were turned, he wouldn't have like it if you had done that to him. I'm telling you man, people are so damn selfish....never considerate of others and their feelings, and even just having enough respect for one another....but I tell you, karma is a force to be reckoned with.... and the whole living situation....wow....that's another red flag. It sounds like your ex was lying to you about everything.... it sounds like the guy you was dating was either younger or really just irresponsible and NOT a good person at all... but after hearing this, this makes me want to find the guy that did this to you and beat the s**t of of them....just out of principle. any man that does what they did to you is a fool! This storytime made me sad for you, and mad at your ex man...... But you want to know something, he wasn't the right one for you...and its better the truth came out now, than several years later....especially if you would've decided to marry them.....that would have been a real nightmare situation.... and yea, I wouldn't want to be around anyone that would allow that type of behavior either....so while it sucks you were alone for those holidays, it was probably the best thing you could've done at the time. I will say this, that even though we don't personally know one another....If we would've been close friends during this time, I wouldn't have allowed you to be by yourself during the holidays....I would have sent you a plane ticket to get out of that mess....and that is real talk. Not to minimize what you went through, so I will say I can relate. I went through a similar situation, where I was dating a very manipulate individual, that lied to me every chance they could, and cheated on me as well, and also tried to send me into financial ruin....and keep me there....as a way to subvert control over me. I can admit that I allowed it to happen for some time because I was genuinely in love with this individual. It sent me into a serious state of depression, to a point where I had even withdrew from my family, and they tried to make me solely dependent on them. I have to say, that if it weren't for a sibling and a really good friend that I kept in contact with over the years, I probably wouldn't be writing this right now. And when I told them everything that I was going through (by actually talking about the horrors that I had experienced), they helped me escape it. I'm saying all this to let you know, that talking about your past pain will help eventually liberate you from that type of situation, and by talking to the right individuals will keep you from falling back into that trap ever again. But Tripp, I just want to encourage you, and let you know that your Mr. Right for Tripp is closer than you think..... Whenever the time is right, he will reveal himself to you, and you'll know it is real....and more importantly, you will be glad that you waited for him. In the meantime, even in this age of Covid, enjoy yourself man.....continue to make these videos....and heal yourself!....or even pick up a new hobby....like video games....it will all help in the healing process..... And speaking of video games, do you have an Xbox One or PS4? if not, I recommend getting one of those....and if you already have one or the other.... Don't let that negativity break your spirit. As a 55 year old man I can tell you this. Always trust your intuition. Move forward with an open mind and an open heart. This situation was definitely heartbreaking but also a chance to learn about what you don't want. I'd advise you to invest in lot's of popcorn & pace yourself. I have a few thoughts about this scenario. The biggest one is that you just RE-confirmed my disinterest in "thugs". You have said several times in other vids that you're attracted to "thugs", that you're a "thug" so I'm assuming he was "thuggish", a "straight appearing"man . When I hear that word used to describe a guy I immediately think of the type of character your BF displayed. Non trustworthy, dishonest not an honorable man.
