I just 'discovered' your videos and I'm struck by your honesty and your emotional maturity! I'm from an older generation and honest such as yours was rare and far between. In my day, 'roles' were clearly defined; being gay, or as we used to call it, being in the life, could be seriously problematic, and sometimes potentially hostile and violent. I've witnessed such dramatic progress over the decades, over the eras! It's so refreshing to watch you a live and speak in your truth! You have a lot of wisdom for someone so young but then again, wisdom can be colorless and ageless! I've shared your videos with my inner circle and you've now become a favorite! Where were guys like you when I was out there? I’ve written tons of poems about being gay back then and now. I agree with the way you handled the situation! DL dudes can often seem so attractive but not always fully developed mentally or emotionally! The fact that he started flirting with your cousin right in front of you tell you a whole lot about the kind of person he was; there was no respect in his action! He was probably feeling 'queasy' because he enjoyed what transpired between you two and sought her out to 'reaffirm' his alleged 'straight' status! He showed you who he really was and like Maya Angelou said, you believed him! Good for you! And you are absolutely right about crossing certain lines; most of those lines are one way and provide no way back to what was once crossed! I suspect a lot of relationships have be damaged and ruined by not respecting those uncrossable lines! I will continue to watch your videos and your progress! Be well and stay safe!

I really enjoyed this story time, Tripper Plugged. ♥️ I was in a similar situation with a fellow athlete that I played football with back in high school. We also use to sing together in the talent shows every year and we were well respected by our student body because of our talent. He would come over to my house, eat the breakfast my grandmother would cook and chill in my room and write music and check out other songs we enjoyed. He would always talk about girls and make little comments here and there about my sister (she was already dating some dude) and he knew that. lol I told him that I was into guys and my reasons for that was make him chill with his obsession with conversations about girls and sex. I didn’t mind supporting him when it came to his little school house crushes but my sister was off limits. lol One day while he was chillin at my house he asked me about my sexuality and was like, “you are a damn good running back, you can sing hella good, you’re buff as f***, and you’re very good looking... why are you gay?” lol I answered back saying, “it is what it is” and laughed. lol He then asked me, “if I liked him,” I said, “you’re a very attractive guy but we are friends and I respect our friendship” he said, “that’s what’s up!” He then said if I took my d*** out would you s*** it? I was like, “I don’t know! I don’t just sit around thinking about stuff like that. You’re my friend, I don’t want it to be awkward between us after doing that.” He was very adamant about me doing this with him, so we did! Things got awkward as I knew it would, he didn’t come around much afterwards and we still had to play football together. We still sang in the talent shows because it was tradition. He tried to make a comeback when I got a car but I was over it by then. I moved on and got some new friends. lol The lesson was learned! lol 😁💯 Who knows where he is now?🤷🏽♂️ I went on to college, was very successful there and moved on with my life. It’s Love All Day, Tripper Plugged! ♥️💯♥️💯

Sorry you lost your friendship. It was a difficult call. Sometimes "coming out" is overrated. You were the good person in all this. He was messing with your feelings and was now messing with your family. What have we learnt? "Just because you can , it don't mean you should"
@junior2520044 жыл бұрын
I think what you did in regards to protecting your cousin was the right move and I appreciate that you did that without outing your friend. If your friend was trying to take any other girl on a date, then I would say let him do whatever he wants. Regardless of any situation, though, I feel like it’s never ok to out someone. That is something sensitive and a person has the right to make that decision when they’re ready. Coming out is a pivotal moment in life and the way it happens will be something remembered forever. I’m sure that no one wants to be part of someone having a traumatic moment that will be forever remembered when it comes to coming out. In regards to the friendship dissolving, I’m sure that even though it may have been difficult for you to go through, it was necessary and maybe even inevitable. Some people that we develop relationships with are only meant to be in our lives for a season. They come into our lives to teach us a lesson or something new about ourselves that we weren’t aware of. It’s important to be ok with letting those type of people go if they want to go. In regards to your situation, your friend could’ve responded to what you were saying in an entirely different way. And maybe if he did, the friendship would’ve remained. The fact that he didn’t probably taught you something about his character and perhaps now, you know how to avoid developing relationships with people who act the same way. We are wise to not confuse seasonal people with lifetime expectations. If people want to go, then that’s someone who was only meant to be with us for a season. If people stick around through the bad and uncomfortable times, those are lifetime friends that we don’t want to let go of.

Cuz, this goes down on the regular. I went through the same situation several times. One situation was a coworker and he'll catch a ride with me time from time. We'll smoke and talk as y'all did. A messy queen outed me out to him so asked me one day on the way home. He couldn't believe it and asked me several questions including why I'm into dudes. After the talk, we remain cool and the queen became even more bitter. We didn't cross the line. I've would have done the same if a dude was trying to talk to a relative.

Tripp man u was right, he was wrong. The flirting was kool but he crossed the line. I feel u did the right thing out of protecting your cousin. Sometimes we really have to keep friends just as friends. The relationship sometimes changes after u cross the line but man u was all the way right. U a kool ass dude & I like how u handle shit

Just out of curiosity, would you have still had a problem with him dating your cousin even if nothing had ever happened between you and him?

Great question. Now, if it was me, I've been through this a couple of times. If we do 'anything', my family members are off limits. If we've never done anything that is on you and my family member.

Great story cousin like that had happened to me before with this gut that I was cool with around my hood and like we messed around one time and he was trying to get at my cousin too and out of respect for my cousin I had to let her know that he not into you and he got baggage cuz I didn’t want my cousin to be hurt or get played.

I know this is 2 yrs old, but dude was manipulative. He manipulated u into topping him off, and he was going to manipulate ur cousin. That’s great that u saved ur cousin from a lot. That guy was not a real friend, he lacked boundaries.

Yeah I do believe he purposely wanted to mess with your cousin because of what happened between yall. He probably feels like if he did mess with your cousin after messing with you then that would justify him messing with you. But then on the other hand you could had just told her that she shouldn't mess with him as well without giving the specifics. If she suspected anything then that's on her. But you wouldn't had outed him.
@TripperPlugged4 жыл бұрын
She would've asked why and then I would've had to make up fake shit. We from the hood it's really nothing I could've said to make her not want him except the truth. I wouldve sounded like I'm hating or blocking. that aint me man.

That definitely wasn't your 'homeboy's' first same-sex experience.... Anyway, if I were in this situation, I would have made my cousin aware of the deal anyway... I have the kind of closeness with my female relatives, whereby I can speak candidly with them about things like this... By the way, I have been ringing the alarm on how common and pervasive and TOXIC these DL dudes are, way before the DL conversation had become so commonly known and popular.... This story is another fine example of how hazardous and dangerous these DL dudes are for women and out gay and bi men. I've always said that these types pose as one of the most taboo social issues we are facing.
