Flew a EuroAtlantic 767 that was operated by Icelandair from Boston to Reykjavík. I was in business class and expected just the recliners that Icelandair typically has on their jets. I was pleasantly surprised to board the aircraft and see a fully lie flat seat. Upgrade was only about 200 dollars extra!

I have never had an unpleasant flight on a 767, in my opinion the most bullet proof airliner ever. There is KZbin video of Qantas pilots delivering their 767’s to the Mojave boneyard when they were retired. I wasn’t too shocked to see tears on the faces of the ferrying pilots as well as a big send off in Sydney. They loved the 67

Destinations The former euroAtlantic Lockheed L-1011 still wearing Air Zarco livery EuroAtlantic Airways operates worldwide charter services as well as ACMI and other wet lease operations, mostly on behalf of other airlines. For example, EuroAtlantic operated two Boeing 777s on behalf of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in 2009[5] and two Boeing 767s for Air Canada in 2014.[6] Among their usual customers are airlines like TAP Air Portugal, LOT Polish Airlines, FlyNAS (for Hajj flights), TACV Cabo Verde Airlines, TUIFly, etc. EuroAtlantic Airways also operates a single scheduled route between Lisbon and Bissau on its own behalf.[7]

Since most of their aircraft are used as fill-ins for others, they don't have to overexert themselves for comfort (like the tight seat pitch) or IFE (bring your own device). The meal, however, looked quite good (if also appearing a bit dry) for a 4-hour flight. I had the experience of flying in a JetBlue backup plane, and it wasn't particularly pleasant.

About 5:57, please don’t call such flights “rare”. These flights are a weekly (daily!) occurrence. Just because a westerner is not used to this kind of flight does not mean it is rare. I grew up in French speaking West Africa and back in the 70s and 80s, we had flights like these too: walking across the apron to climb up to embark on widebody jets; insecticide sprayed prior to departure or after landing; etc. None of that was rare.
@simply_aviation5 жыл бұрын
This airline operates just one route once a week, if that’s not rare I don’t know what is... I’m fully aware that none of the things you mentioned is rare, just look at our channel. We have reviewed over 150 airlines and more African airlines than anyone else on KZbin. However, flying Euroatlantic on a regularly scheduled flight is rare because the airline operates only 52 flights per year itself! That is rare.
