Disclaimer : I am from T.N but neutral There are lots of conversy around Gemini Ganesan here. I'd like to add few points. We'll see the factors Gemini Ganesan getting accused of, (i) He is a Womenizer and he cheated Savithri: Yes he is a womanizer which is 100% true and there are all possibilities that he would have had an affair with another women after Savithri's marriage. But Savithri herself is his 3rd wife (First wife alamely alias babji, second wife is telugu actress pushpavalli (mother of hindi actress Rekha)). Savithri also knows about his earlier marriages (which is partially shown in mahanati movie). Not only that that there was also a romour he had affair with actress Rajasree in 1970s. And in 1990s he married Juliana Andrews after his first wife's (Bobji) death. That is his character. He was the only well educated person in Tamil Industry at that time + English Speaking + Tall and soft spoken guy . (ii) Gemini is jealous of Savithri's success: This would have happened with any other star couples but not with Gemini. Because Gemini knows that Savithri is definetely a bigger star and was more talented than him. And he never felt insecured because of that , the reason being simply 'he is a womenizer'. He would've never felt insecured or jealous in front of any woman , irrespective of their status ..instead he would have used them :-) (iii) Gemini Ganesan introduced her to alcohol: This is also highly unlikely ..because if he was that much drunkard he would have lost his status and money and all other stuff because of alcohol (much before Savithri). But never; He was not a superstar like Sivaji, MGR, NTR or ANR but had a decent hero and his start life was limited and he is fully aware of that. He was well educated high class brahmin person who never gone out of his line (except in case of women, which he obviously crossed many limits). Even in late 1980s he routine was something like 'Going to Tennis' + 'Swimming' + Part of some club + reading english novels etc. May be he was a social drinker..but never a drunkard..Thats for sure. He had a natural death in his 85th year and until then he was healthy. (iv) Gemini Ganesan cheated her financilly: This is total rubbish. The reason being (i) He never had that much money after Savithri's departure from his life (ii) It is he who stopped Savithri being Spendthrift (iii) Though he was not a super star he had a decent career and he never indulged in things like 'film production'. The reason behind the story of 'Gemini cheated her financially' was floated by Savithri's relatives who cheated her financially. They know that they cannot eat Savithri's property when Gemini is around. So they accused all of the ill-fotunes of Savithri are due to Gemini in order to hide their own wong doings. In fact he saved Savithri's money by stopping her giving to underserving cheaters. So the relatives got angry. The above points is agreed by Savithri's daughter Vijaya Samundeswari also in few interviews. Since Gemini is out of Telugu media's radar, he couldn't justify his stand. Had he spoken with Telugu media earlier , he would have stopped many romours about him. On the whole what I am saying is "He is not a hero nor a villain ..but just a person..thats all'. Also he is just a part of Savithri's life and Savithri's downfall is all due to her own Ego. But ego is inevitable for a hugely talented artiste.

Thanks. Gemini's second marriage is short lived and not much news.. May be because Pushpavalli is not a big star and Savithri's star power overshadowed that marriage. Actress Rekha born out of that marriage . But one strong rumour is that "Pushpavalli is not like Gemini's first wife and she got so angry that she tried to KILL Savithri by colliding her car over Savithri". I don't know whether this is real or fake news but heard / read about this story lot of times. Unlike Babji (First wife) she didn't accept Savithri and gone out of Scene very soon..

See her wiki, she chose versatile roles. devotional, mythological, vamp, sensous, haughty, tragic and comical too She was senior to Bhanumathi. She has played a lead with Y.V.Rao, actress Lakshmi's father. And her collegues were Kanchanamala, Kamalakotnis, g.varalakshmi, Vasundara devi, and sundari bai. Then came Anjalidevi, padmini, vyjayanthimala. S.varalakshmi savithri, Devaki. All became succesfull. Being a mother of six, she put on weight and she ended up getting character roles. Her priority became money for her children.And coming to the point,Long back I read in a filmfare article, it was pushpavalli who took care of her and groomed her in savithri's beginning days. She has acted in the movies along with savithri in two, three movies.And she was workiing along with G.G till "Vazhkai padagu" movie 1969.

The entire state says Gemini is a villan. Actually no one is villan to others . All things are going on according to the fate. As you know some facts only but you didn't know many facts i.e Bajiamma is a 1st wife. She is good and spritual lady. She gave good education to their children. In addition to this she also cared children of the other wives of Ganesan put them in right path. No one attracted the savithri children to Ganesan side. His pictures was silver Jubilee till 1970's where as cinema shows he lost the chance due to the grown of savithri familiarity. He is a busy hero. He also conducted many welfare activities. Savithri accompanied with Chandra Babu comedy actor who is a drinker promoted the habbit of liquor to savithri Amma. Because of her barbaristic decisions she lost her property by taking failure pictures. Chandra Babu gives respect to M.G.R as he was not senior to MGR. In those days in Tamil Nadu M.G.R stands 1st place, shivaji stands 2nd place and Gemini stands 3rd place he has enormous fans in Tamilnadu. Why media is showing him as a villan in Tamilnadu? As he belonged to Brahmin community . Dravidians discouraged and criticise the Brahmins. If any Brahmin has more than one wife tamil society says he is a womanizer where as other community preson marry more than one wife media or celebraties do not expose it. For example M.R Radha five wives, M.G.R two wives legally, and so many.
