But Trisha has BPD, and seemingly has self-destructive tendencies due to childhood trauma, abuse, abandonment all leading to poor self-esteem. She never feels like she truly "deserves" love and genuine friendship since she's never been shown it in the past. And when cracks start to form, rather than being on the receiving end of heartbreak, she figures it's easier to just throw it all away herself - at least the resulting fallout will be "justified" as x happened or the other person was rude because of x, y, and z, etc. And with Ethan, he understands Trisha's complexities, but like he said, it came to a point where he stopped being honest and carefree around her and had to walk on eggshells all the time, and kept having to roll with the punches and just accept being berated and insulted over and over again, BUT STILL didn't want to cut her off, and considered her a friend and soon to be family member. But then after Trisha's 5 videos calling Ethan a liar, evil, and all sorts of nasty things, who knows if he still feels that way. And again, Trisha truly did feel misunderstood and lied to and manipulated, so she went on the offensive and attacked right back to try to hurt him the way she feels she's been hurt. It just keeps spiraling.

SHE BECAME FRIENDS WITH HIM DURING AND AFTER THOSE DAYS! I’m yet to see anyone who genuinely did anything wrong to her. @@speeeee35 I don't like how they're handling this situation but I don't understand your point. Shane was their BFF, he never publicly defended them, Trisha was only good for youtube videos, Shane wouldn't choose them and had been talking trash behind their back. They felt betrayed - they were. This coming from someone who doesn't trust easily (from what they tell us). Shane's actions are his own. Trisha was his friend but also his victim. And while that doesn't excuse any manipulation or abuse they may subject others to, it does shed a light on how they respond to certain situations and insecurities -considering the eclectic past they've had. Ethan has been a better friend, listener, support system, and even "enemy" than Shane ever was. We don't need to compare friends, but since you equated them I distinguished them. As shocking as it may seem, it is not uncommon to be oblivious to someone else's (perversions) "strange behavior". More so if that behavior was being documented and the person was becoming famous instead of reprimanded. (basically, I disagree/feel differently when it comes to people wronging Trisha. I think Shane, Jason, David, etc... did wrong them. Other times, as they admitted, their reputation preceded them, so when they tried to say something honest they got hate and disbelief. And instead of letting reality prove itself, they then responded with trolling becoming even more hated. Trisha's defensive side tends to be quite confrontational, it seems. Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it's a mess. But I do agree that they tend to hold others to a different standard they don't uphold themselves...)

The thing about BPD is that once you start feeling an emotion you basically just dig deeper, continue finding things to justify the reaction you’re having to it, and are basically inconsolable and no one can ever help really. Ethan was in an extremely tough place here, nothing he could have said would have done anything. I’ve been in therapy for my BPD and i’ve learned that no one else is responsible for my reaction to my feelings, and the only way to combat them is to be extremely proactive with myself and actively talk myself out of what i’m feeling, or distract from it entirely. It’s my job, and it’s not an easy one, nor is it easy to learn but it’s possible and BPD shouldn’t be an excuse for her. She’s now in the loop of trying to justify her reaction after the fact, and she’s using the skills she’s learning in therapy as more of a defense of her actions, and a weapon than anything to heal her. It sucks to witness.

Important context: 1. The screenshot of the split being 55/45 was from before they even started the podcast, and since he's covering all of the production costs from his half that's more than generous. 2. From Ethan's mouth, it wasn't that he didn't like her ideas, it was that she'd pitch them without considering the practicality of actually making them happen, hence why something like an advice segment would be used before pottery or gymnastics, it's just far more practical and less expensive. 3. This is Ethan an Hila's business, Frenemies is just a podcast that falls under the umbrella, Trisha is just a co-host who shows up, does stuff on camera, and then goes home. There's no reason for Ethan to consult her about who he's hiring, unless of course they had some sort of negative experience with who he's just hired, which the new hire did not. You also didn't touch on how she called their pregnancy announcement "recycled content" as if it's unreasonable (or as she put it, "uncreative") to want to talk about the pregnancy on Frenemies as well as the H3 podcast.

I feel Trisha didn’t want to hear about the pregnancy announcement because she seems envious of Hila. The rest of the podcast is important. She lies about not knowing who the characters they dressed up are and makes it extremely awkward. There's also the fact that when Ethan promotes his brand Teddy Fresh (in other podcasts), he has to do it quickly or she gets really annoyed/demeaning and the very beginning of this podcast was her promoting her skin care line for quite a long time, but demanding respect that she herself can't seem to grant Ethan in return. In the background there's been a lot of fans complaining about her on reddit because she likes to call out people for being problematic/predators, but then she turns around and poses with the same kind of people (social repose) and even shows off about her porn with this really problematic individual as if nothing (I forgot his name but if I find the time I will edit this post). H3 fans or just viewers of the show in general who have seen her go, are tired of her hypocrisy. I really really wished her the best and that this was her turning a new leaf, finding a better entourage etc but all it's served is to show me that even if her environment is better, she still finds a way to mess it up. She just says she goes to therapy. Therapy gives people tools to get better, but those tools need to be applied and seeing how she responded, I don't think she's getting much out of therapy at all. That's not Ethans fault or anyone else's. She has to do the effort and has to do the work. She said so herself, having a mental illness isn't an excuse for being a shit person. She should apply it to herself. Your video confirms that Ethan wasn't being delusional when he perceived anger/agitation/frustration from Trisha, but she kept lying about it. If anything, she was gaslighting herself (perhaps via some disassociation, she has claimed to have Dissassociative Identity Disorder in the past, her ex gf who has DID made a video about it).

You want to give your attention to someone when they're talking, and especially when you're on a show that involves that, but I also think the offense level was a bit high especially considering that they were making it about it being an LGBTQ topic. I think the issue is WHAT Ethan interrupted. It's pride month, and Trisha was in the middle of talking about how gay and trans people are assaulted and murdered. It's a really important topic to Trisha and the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. It's a human rights issue, and Trisha was trying to use their platform to talk about it. That doesn't excuse how Trisha chose to respond, but Ethan's timing was extremely ignorant and tactless. Just because he was being nice to Moses with what he interrupted with doesn't change the fact that he interrupted a serious topic and didn't seem to take it seriously even before that point. He seemed to be thinking that Trisha was just bringing up an old movie randomly when they were actually intentionally bringing it up to lead into a bigger discussion about LGBTQ+ challenges in modern day. I don't condone how Trisha chose to respond, but I think this is a factor that is overlooked in how and why this conversation went downhill so fast. I think Trisha dissing the fan segment had nothing to do with the segment or the crew; they were being petty and because they felt like Ethan was acting like what they were saying was stupid/unimportant, then they would act like his/other ideas were stupid/unimportant.

I think it’s also important to note that Ethan’s the one producing the podcast, he’s at a bigger financial risk, and actually knows how to produce things. Trisha doesn’t even edit her own rant videos, maybe all of her “ideas” were rejected because they were too complicated to produce for a podcast? It seems like she takes a lot of stuff personally, but she’s essentially hired talent for this podcast…and I think Ethan was actually pretty generous in the deal he offered her. He’s not perfect but it seems like he tries to be as fair as he can from a financial standpoint with regards to his crew and Trisha. I know she said it wasn’t about money but she seemed to insinuate that she wasn’t treated fairly when it came to the percentage she made from the show as well as her production input, which I don’t think is true.

To see her get upset, but try to suppress it rather than talk through it with Ethan showed me what it looks like when my emotions are too much to verbalize whats going on with me. She should have taken a minute there. The unresolved feelings boiling over into a huge knockout blow out fight over something meaningly small... and disregard how it made the other person feel.. The self realization is real today for me. I have had fights like this. I've sat on my feelings and then started trying to burn bridges over it. I really hope Trisha realizes she's in the wrong. This is the perfect example of a time to be putting what she should be learning in therapy into PRACTICE. Recognizing the toxic traits in yourself is the first step to improving life.

Thank you for sharing this! I have to admit I saw a *lot* of myself in their initial blow-up with Ethan; Logan's comment about knowing the words to say, but having an emotional block in front of saying them really hit home for me. I had that same visceral reaction when Ethan talked over Trisha, I recognize how easily it comes to lash out with something cutting intended only to wound the other person so you're both "back on the same level." Denial and emotional distancing to make the other person "come after you" and prove that you're worthy. And this happens in an instant, before you're even really aware of it - so I can empathize and I dont believe that the delayed exit strategy was tactical or intentional. I think they realized that they were out of their depth when they were already fighting to keep their head above water. Which makes their follow up video so *SO* much more frustrating because if they did feel genuine remorse it should have been dealt with privately, and then a statement released once everything is resolved. Rather than being a moment of authenticity and accountability, from which so many people could have learned and taken away something meaningful, it just reinforces the idea that people like this, like me, are just being over-emotional drama queens for attention, which is the exact opposite of what we actually need. It's not easy - I wish you the best for your mental health journey. [Edited to fix pronouns]

Yes, Ethan was rude to interrupt her monologue but are we not going to talk about the fact that she started the new topic on purpose? She did not want to do the "stupid segment" so she wanted to talk about a movie that is old news at this point instead. And the whole episode was about Trisha anyways with her new skincare products and the beef with Gabbie Hannah so god forbid they do a small segment together with Ethan.
@genericname87273 жыл бұрын
While I think the segment with the advice is good, Trisha probably wanted to talk about it because it’s Pride month. Trisha expressed excitement for pride month in previous episodes too. I think talking about Brokeback Mountain was just meant as a launching point for a discussion about LGBT+ rights. Dismissing it as “old news” is part of why she’s so upset (not that I’m on her side; I think she was justifiably upset but not at all justified in how she behaved after becoming upset).

Fights between Ethan and Trisha were much more prevalent in the early months of Frenemies due to the lack of bonding, the distrust and preconceived notions they had of one another. But for the past months these two literally call each other "besties". They're more trusting, more chill and more comfortable. I notice that Ethan is able to "get away" with teasing Trisha much more these days because she genuinely believes he's on her side. So why this fight now? What has changed? Why the flare up at this particular moment? My theory is "pregnancy envy". Trisha was pronounced infertile by her doctor years ago due to her tubes being messed up, and yet she and Moses have desperately been trying to get pregnant regardless of the miniscule chances. Trying to get pregnant even in of itself is hugely stressful and taxing on a couple's relationship. But then add to the equation the fact the Hila (Ethan's wife) has not only just found out she's pregnant, but that she's SUPER pregnant and they're now expecting twins and there may be even more babies in her belly. Hila was someone that Trisha already felt intimated by and it is true that no matter how civil Hila tries to behave, you can tell there is some disdain simmering under the surface. Trisha just isn't Hila's kind of person and wouldn't typically be the kind of woman she'd hang out with. So Trisha's insecurities regarding Hila are not completely unfounded. Coming back to pregnancy envy, this may be hard for men to understand, but mother nature will bring on bouts of "baby fever" which will make us literally obsessed with becoming pregnant. When you're going through a phase like this, and especially if you're suffering with infertility, it is emotionally very traumatic and hard to handle. My theory is that Trisha is suffering emotionally from Hila's pregnancy (either consciously or subconsciously) and knows that it is going to get harder and harder be present as people grow their excitement around Hila's pregnancy. Thus, creating a "big feud out of nothing" was her way for her to create a protective barrier between her and Hila + Ethan.
@empac86313 жыл бұрын
Glad I’m not the only one who deeply sees the insecurity, jealousy and intimidation between Trisha and Hila. Another point is that she’s a woman that’s heavily important in both men’s lives, Moses and Ethan that is, that creates a competitive nature for a male’s attention with her. Add on that Hila is very thin, beloved by the fan base and crew and has a very successful company that is heavily respected in the fashion world, it would be hard not to be intimidated. But, I love Hila dearly and will always think “you came to the wrong street, cuz” or “whattup big pimps” when I think of her so zero intimidation

💯
@KatsPurr3 жыл бұрын
@@empac8631 Absolutely fantastic points you added there on even more reasons for Trisha to feel intimidated, yes yes yes! And it is absolutely not Hila's issue or problem. She's definitely not trying in any way to intimidate Trisha, on the contrary she's tried to accommodate and understand her. It's totally a Trisha self-esteem issue. Not faulting Trisha for that either, as you look back at her experiences and traumas in life and it's completely understandable. They're just like water and oil and just don't mix. Now if Frenemies does continue after all of this, I bet more drama will be on the way the further the pregnancy goes forward. Especially because Ethan seems a bit clueless in regards to being sensitive about Trisha's own pregnancy battles. Had he known just how painful that is for a woman, he'd have never boasted on their show about how "super pregnant" Hila is. In that episode, Trisha was trying to be supportive and happy for them, but you could tell there was pain under the surface.

@@GoogelyeyesSaysHej I think we all agree on that, she’s simply saying that there’s a deeper explanation that even Trisha themself might not fully realize. It’s instinctual, and then x10000 because of the disorders Trish has and the environment. I truly believe that Trish doesn’t get along with girls/women as a whole usually, that due to being a bigger girl she was most likely bullied by some girls growing up, and because she learned to adapt to rely on sexualization as comedy, bonding, and bringing benefits to her she tends to rely on that heavily for basic personal connection. Look how long she was telling Ethan he must want to sleep with her, even though Ethan is so very clearly inlove with his wife.
