Thanks a million for such a great description; it usually takes me around one hour to fully understand the instructions. I was thinking of making one of these, however this design is so comprehensive, it would be like a monument in my workshop. I am quite addicted to 'ground cast iron surfaces' and the oscillation is extremely clever. This is now on my wish list!

My sand paper keep sliding up and down the drum. Any tips on how to make that stop?

Make sure you tighten down the nut on top of the drum. See the 4:00 mark. It needs to be tight enough that the rubber expands and holds the sandpaper tube tight.
