I have a 2022 Triumph bobber with forward floor boards/foot control, mini apes, a Fox frame shock and blacked out Hines & Kane pipes. I also had the stock seat post drilled out to put the stock seat back further....it is hands down a bad to the bone bike!! It can be customized with an even larger rear tire if one prefers. I love it because it combines a retro look with a bit of a hot rod look and a cruiser all rolled into one bike....i love mine!! If you don't like the higher ape hangers, just bring them back about 3 inches and you will feel like you have more control over your steering....

A few things to note about this particular bike: It's straight piped, looks like an x-pipe and British Customs shotgun slip-on. I believe that slip-on does actually have a bit of muffling, which is why it doesn't sound like absolute ass. The stock bars and seat are WAY better than the aftermarket parts on this one, which you touched on. There are good aftermarket (not to mention factory accessory) bars and seats, but the stock setup is actually pretty great. The stock bar-end mirrors are excellent, whoever put that mirror on there made a oopsie Those are aftermarket foot controls, the stock ones are mid controls and suit the look of the bike pretty nicely. You can get aftermarket foot pegs that look more classic or sporty or whatever you want, and Triumph has a factory forward control accessory. There are a number of other aftermarket parts on there, like an airbox delete and a tail tidy that make it more "custom bobber" feeling. I like these mods, but they're not for everyone. People underestimate these bikes because the Bonneville seems like such a tame and gentlemanly bike, but they rip when you lean on them, and they sound great when you open them up with a more free flowing exhaust setup. You noted that it has a lot of electronics, which I agree with. If I had my way, Triumph would make a "dumb" model with carbs and no rider aids or anything (maybe except ABS cuz laws or whatever) to make it feel like a more classic motorcycle experience, but unfortunately, that's just not what sells these days. The great thing about this platform is that there are so many things you can do to it to make it exactly what you want, like the previous owner obviously did. There's never going to be an aftermarket like there is for the Sportster, but there's definitely more out there than anyone who owns one of these is likely to have the money for.
@SpeedySpartan6 ай бұрын
Dude this thing has so much character/charisma it's CRAZY. I was not expecting that since others like the Indian Scout Bobber (which I like still), or Harley Lowrider/Street Bob have that "factory feel/blandness" that you talked about. I really like this thing AND THAT DECEL SOUND IS NASSTTTYYY OMFG 😍

I could just see this with low bars, or even clipons, a cafe bobber.. However, as a factory bobber, there's a mission other brothers out there with exactly the same bike. SO for me I'd also do custom paint. But that engine and exhaust, what a beauty! Just grabbing another gear, or engine braking on a steep downhill, snapping and crackling, snarling and woofling, just glorious!

Those apes arn't factory, triumph do mini ape option, but are not as high as those, the seat is not factory, triumph do some optional seats which are probably way comfier than that one, the forward controls don't look factory either, the bobber comes with mids from the factory, but triumph do a forward option, the same that is fitted to the speedmaster. But i have a bobber with optional apes and short fenders and comfort seat, with Vance & Hines factory pipes and it is a nice place to be.

Was going to say, I've spent a lot of time looking at buying a Triumph Bobber and I didn't recognize half of the mods on that bike from the factory!
@jonno946 ай бұрын
@@Nerdy_Biker Triumph do have a big catalogue of custom parts for the bonneville range, especially the bobber, i don't think any of the mods on this one are from triumph, but i still love the way it looks. Like i mentioned, i have a one that happened to have a lot of those optional parts fitted by the previous owner, ive owned a lot of bikes over the years and this is my 1st classic/cruiser/bobber style bike, i test rode a few bikes, harleys etc before purchasing the bobber and i love it, i reckon it's going to be a keeper for years. Worth mentioning, with the standard mid mount pegs, the bike corners very well and dosent touch done as easily as the forward mounts.

I absolutely love this bike and would own one for sure. However, part of the appeal of a "bobber" is that they're cheap, you buy a 20 year old bike and strip it to basics. In the UK I could have about 3/4 crappy old bobbers for the price of this modern bike, that unfortunately breaks the deal.

Bobbers are fair weather, short ride bikes. No fenders is just stupid. Eating rocks and rooster tails of wetness isn't a good ride. Besides, most front fenders are also load sharing shock stabilizers. They dog track and twist without them. Love your Magna, but it needs parts. lol
