Nice video. I like that you review the bike and not blast us with loud music. Thank you. The flat seat you mention is the way to go. The trend in seats in the last 30 yrs. has been getting old with me as a 70 yr. old rider with 60 yrs. in the saddle.

Well thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I agree the flat seat is the way to go especially for taller people.

New rider here. I love "old" stuff, I already own an old car so I thought it would be perfect to get an old Guzzi as my first bike. It was a nightmare, constant issues, I don't think I did 100 miles on it (over 4 months) before selling it. Got a 2008 Bonneville a couple weeks ago and the sun started shining 😄. I was scared I couldn't manage the weight, the big engine, the big size with my little to no riding experience, but I was so wrong. It feels... easy, natural. I'm still a bit unsure on stuff like low speed cornering but that's definitely on me. So far I love everything about it.

Hi there! Congrats on your new Bonnie. I'm absolutely loving mine. They are one of the best "used" purchases that you can make on a bike IMO. Affordable, Classic, and infinitely modifiable. Stay tuned, I have some new videos coming out for my build. 😁

If you are a new rider, and haven't done so, take an MSF rider course. It will really help with your low speed handling.

Cool video and great looking Triumph. I love that color combination. I have a 2015 T100 and it is definitely a favorite in my garage. Good around town and on weekend trips, and like you mentioned - just a joy to ride. Gotta say that my stock pipes never sounded as good as yours though. Have fun and enjoy!
@bertsbike Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I was just out on it today. Loved every minute of the ride. The stock pipes aren't bad, they're just a little too quiet. The biggest improvement to the sound (if you check out my other videos) was after the "AIS" delete. Smoothened out that random popping. Happy New Year!

I just picked up this same year/model bike, and I'm having a blast! I was looking at a 1967 Tiger, but you convinced me I want to drive more than I want to work on a bike, lol. Mine has most of the mods done already.

I owned a 2012 Bonnie standard for almost 6 years. When I sold it, the buyer had an issue with the neutral switch. It went bad. It's located on the bottom by the oil plug. Easy to change it out but you will have to drain the oil.
@bertsbike Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Interesting. What exactly was it doing? Was the light not coming on?

Good to share a ride with you though the intro music was a bit raucous, you need something more refined like the Bonnie. i agree about the headlight, I upgraded my bulb for better visibility and the blue tinge makes you more noticeable to other road users. Good luck with your channel.

Is it possible the fake choke is a clever disguise for cut off switch? For anti theft?
@bertsbike Жыл бұрын
Well, I guess term is that it's a high idle lever, On start up the bike wants to see it engaged or it wont start sometimes.
@radu2253 Жыл бұрын
It is not a fake lever, it actually engages an air intake valve while the mixture is still managed by EFI for a faster idle and warm-up. Btw, the idle knob is located a little lower under the injectors, on the left side.

Nice bike. What do you like more the T 100 or the W 800? I had a W 800 for a year and a half. Now I have a T100 2011 model. Not sure which one I like more yet. One thing for sure the T 100 vibrates a lot less than the W.
@bertsbike Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Thanks for watching. I think the W is a bike for people who don’t really want to customize and is more true to the BSA-1 with the styling and bevel drive. Vs. a stock T100; W800 all day long. But with a few mods (bench seat/gauge lower and some low profile bars) here and there the T100 wins overall. I was actually looking to replace my W, but I wanted to try really customizing a bike so the T100 wins for me. On a side note, seems like the T100 maintenance would be easier since it’s everything seems spaced out relatively well. ✌️

Either MotoneCustoms.co.uk or NewBonneville.com It’s called a “Lay flat gauge” be sure to get the one with the key relocation hole. They make one without. Also there are some Motone products on Amazon. Almost everything on my bike is Motone. Love their stuff!

I think you’ll like the T100 better than the America. That’s the cruiser right? So just having a standard stance will help that tremendously I think. Thanks for the watching!

i think youll find its a carburatored bike
@bertsbike Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It’s not a carb model. Triumph started changing over to EFI around 2008. They have faux carbs that house the throttle bodies. The faux choke is a high idle switch.
