Hi Dai, I’ve seen this trick performed several times, which has totally fooled me. After watching your tutorial, I was absolutely engrossed and thoroughly impressed with your explanation of the trick. You have the trick explained quite easily, but I think I’m going to need quite a few practice runs to get my brain muscle memory to remember it all. I’ve now subscribed to your channel. I will watch a lot more of your Gems. Thank you once again!

Hey! I doubt I'm the very first but yes, I've also noticed that most people use the Zarrow. Personally, I much prefer the Triumph Shuffle, but I guess it's a matter of taste 🙂 Hope you liked the video! 😀
@kaikai-pb7fh11 ай бұрын
dai Vernon uses a different shuffle.. I think it's explained in the tommy Johnson video series and maybe in star's of magic book. this shuffle is in star's of magic as a simpler way of doing it. Although I really like this shuffle and it was really well done here.

@@4suitsI think both have their strengths. My impression of many people that just adopt the Zarrow (definitely not all, just most) almost try to just speed through that part, followed with Daryl's display to "prove" what they just saw is what they saw. The original leaves such a great image in the mind of the spectator with almost no excess proving, in my opinion. I loved the pace in which you did the push in, I may have to steal that!
@4suits6 ай бұрын
@@mydavegabicycle I agree! The thing I like with the original is the fact that you can push them in very slowly and deliberately! And if done correctly, there's no need to prove anything or do any type of display (apart from what's built in into the routine) in my opinion. Why prove something that they already know? Worst case, they might even be suspicious if you over-prove. Just my two cents! 😀👍

I loved the trick. A lot better than Triple Triumph. Great instructions but I have one complaint or suggestion if you like. When shooting and you refer to your right hand, it's on our left and visa versa. I only wish you shot the whole thing from the angle you insert the short clips of actual view, if that makes any sense. I got confused because there are alot of switching hands and cuts, etc etc. But all in all, I loved it. Thank you.
@4suits Жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you like it! 🙏😀 That's a good point, I sometimes get confused by that myself. I hope that I sometime in the future can have a multi angle set-up. But for now I might film more from the behind angle, especially with tricks that can be confusing 👍

I do this trick with a zarrow shuffle. Which I suck at lol . Interested in the strip out . Might make me actually preform this one lol
@4suits2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I often see it performed and taught with the zarrow, but the strip out/triumph shuffle is used in the original effect. Although the zarrow is a great alternative, I favor the original because you can spread them out after you've shuffled them (but before they're squared) as an extra convincer. So if the zarrow doesn't work for you, play around a little with the strip out. Its worth finding what works for you, because it's a great effect in my opinion! 😊
@The5ofSpades2 жыл бұрын
@@4suits yeah its a effect I enjoy . I didn't put the time into the zarrow shuffle. Half learned it so I could do this effect. Never a good plan lol
@4suits2 жыл бұрын
@@The5ofSpades Haha, maybe not! I'm no expert, but If you want to learn the zarrow shuffle I actually think the explanation in Card College is pretty good. Also, the Jason England download is great as all of his work. I haven't really found a very good free video on it, in my opinion there's usually to much card "smear" and covering actions which makes it look unnatural in many videos online... but they discuss how to avoid that in those two sources! 😊

@4suits Жыл бұрын
I don't think they wear out faster than, for example, a bicycle deck. But if you practice a lot, the deck will wear out pretty fast, so it's definitely cheaper to practice with a bike 👍 I usually practice with some standard deck but might perform with monarchs if I'm feeling fancy 🙂

Try this: start with the cards in new deck order, and instead of doing those cuts, do a couple of tabled push-through shuffles, stripping the cards out out with the same motion as with the Triumph shuffle. You can also do Up The Ladder cut sequence, using the same circular motion so that everything is consistent. Then you can make your first miracle that the cards are all face up, your second that they're all in new deck order, and the reveal of the face-down selection card almost an afterthought. It works with the plot as well: not only did the magician get the better of his rogue spectator by turning all the face-down cards, face-up again, he completely undid his efforts to mess up the trick by resetting the deck to how it was before the trick even started, as if the whole thing were some sort of cheese dream. That's how I perform Triumph. 😁 Check out Dani Daortiz' Open Triump, as well, it's all done in the hands.
@4suits9 ай бұрын
That's an amazing idea!! 👏👏👏 I will have to try that out! I'll look up Dani's version for sure! I also really like a triumph effect by Kostya Kimlat that is in the hands and super clean!
@TheSleightDoctor9 ай бұрын
@@4suits Thanks for that! Obviously I'm biased, but I prefer my own version. If you're lucky, someone points out that you missed a card. That's when when you get the best effect and reactions. But it doesn't really matter if that doesn't happen, because you can still act like you forgot what trick you were supposed to be performing anyway....and just happen to notice the face-down card youraelf. And there it is, the one chosen. Oops. 🤣
