Saw two of these at the local Triumph Dealer yesterday. They are gorgeous. Both had sold tags on them.

Yep....we could have done a 130BHP bad tempered piece of crap, stalling at every traffic light and skittering around corners. This is a gorgeous beast and like the Norton V4 will be sold out. It be as fast and as manageable as a sensible rider would want.

What’s the paddock stand that the TFC Thruxton is mounted on. It’s low slung and should be useful for other low mounted bikes like the 2018 Speedmaster. Much appreciated.

Triumph is leaning more and more to the lifestyle segment of motorcycling, don't get me wrong, I love bikes, own a 2007 street triple, but everytime they release a new oldschool bike I feel a bit dissapointed. Why not release a completly new model based on a platform they allready have that isn't retro?
@samrit123in6 жыл бұрын
*Rocket III* is different segment. The upcoming *Daytona 765* is a different segment. They are launching a 650 cc model in collaboration with Indian company Bajaj.

@@samrit123in I know about the new Daytona, had not heard about a 650. Good to hear that they are collebarating with another company

Triumph are simply building bikes that customers want, and which ignite their own passions - and why not? It's their company and they are generally bucking the downwards sales trend of a declining industry. They are also releasing new Street and Speed Triples, and Adventure bikes, and every iteration is an upgrade. ... I'm not sure why they should do anything different; it's who they are, and who they have always been.

I don't get it? All that attention to detail and price tag, but still the same'ol Nissin rear brake caliper? Guess I'm just OCD.

midas61 2014 was a slip of the tongue and we corrected it in the video which actually was launched in 2015 (we hosted the launch event at our venue). thebikeshed.cc/the-all-new-triumph-bonneville-thruxton-street-twin/ . Production models were available in 2016.

"Counterfeit Triumph Bonnevilles" as my old buddy Paul says..no direct link to the Meriden Triumph Bonnevilles. I bought a Beautiful 2015 model (aircooled) T100 in 2016 with some pension pot money at 55. I wanted to buy a British bike built by British "men" in Britain and support our country. I told this to the salesman. 2 years on I love the bike but feel conned by Triumph and by the dealer partly too for going along with the cover up. Mine is one of the last to be registered as a 66 plate..last of the aircooled Bonnevilles... I have a 2010 675 street triple R in black which was tricked up beyond belief by the first owner..it is a genuine Triumph in my belief. Both of my bikes give enough of those 20p/50p moments to make them worth the effort of honing my skills back in the day and continuing to do so.. The new liquid cooled Bonnevilles? Absolute w*nk according to my mate Paul. I wouldn't buy one is all I am going to say. Props to Triumph for kickstarting the British MC industry again ;-) and making bikes popular again here. "Change is inevitable..growth optional".. Look at beards now..even I have one..my mrs even likes it. Looking at that Thruxton in the video and my two bikes I still tend to believe that Triumphs were and still are the "Rolls Royce of Motorcycles" . My neighbour who is a retired Aerospace Test Engineer considered to be the top in his field looked at my two Triumphs and agreed with that tag..he was astounded at the attention to detail, engineering excellence and fitness for purpose. He like me wondered why they fitted bloody German tyres on it though..he also pointed out that the tread pattern on the front tyre was flying against Engineering principle. It wonders badly on white lines and in the wet even worse. The rear in the wet skips about too...good job I cut my teeth on a X7 in the late 70's which I modified myself over three years until it was stupidly quick and handled as if on rails. I only changed the front tyre on that once...the back tyre many times LOL. The Triumphant return of the Trumpets of Hinkley are blasting globally now and the whole world is the better for it. bollocks to the nay Sayers.. Rides safe and free. Jon Metcalf(e) AKA Kit Spartan ..Holder of the Cup for stating the Obvious.. E&OE

Why are you asking this man dumb questions like, "Why is it not a 130HP RR?" You can answer that yourself, because it's a Thruxton. You sound condescending, strangely uninformed and somehow disappointed. Plus, you make yourself look bad.
@BikeShedMotoCo6 жыл бұрын
The reason we asked this is because during the Thruxton's launch here there was a mention of a highly tuned track version being developed. So yes, I am disappointed that the TFC version isn't punching much above the recently launched Speed Twin. As for making myself look bad, you're right there - presenting/interviewing isn't my thing.
