UPDATE: The visitor experience will re-open 10th October 2020. Importantly you now need to pre book through the Triumph website. Triumph are now charging £6.00 per person to walk around this area which was free when we visited. Cafe and shop are still free to visit. Factory Tours commence again spring 2021

Thanks Richard! That’s inspired us to maybe drop in and check it out in 2020!😀👍

It's worth booking the factory tour and doing the museum and cafe if you have any distance to travel. As the place is so close for us it's a nice coffee stop on an hours ride out. Cheers and Merry Christmas 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Very nice visit. My daughter bought me a voucher for the tour for Christmas. I’ll have to work out a date to go in the new year.

You have a very thoughtful daughter Tony, the factory tour, museum and cafe are great. 👍 I've only gone around the factory at the weekend but I hear it's more interesting doing the tour on a weekday while the guys are assembling the bikes.

Looks good. I'll have to go and do the factory tour in 2020. Better stop watching You Tube now or I'll get into trouble. It is Christmas Day, after all, and I've got over excited grandchildren to play with. Happy Christmas, Richard and Carol.

Can John Bloor somehow be persuaded to take on the Norton factory as well? Please.
@Banditmanuk4 жыл бұрын
Be great wouldn't it but I don't think they will. My wife rides a Triumph and had a deposit down on a Norton Atlas Nomad, she would love it if John Bloor took it on. Thanks for stopping by the channel 👍👍

For everyone currently looking at the announcement to concentrate production in Thailand, skip to 15 min in the vid. Triumph have been building bikes out there for many years. Only TFC and specials together with an enlarged research and development area at Hinckley. Looks like the loss of about 50 production line staff at Hinckley but creation of about 20 R&D jobs. Would knowing your Triumph was to be built in Thailand put you off buying? Answers below.

I have to wonder how Moto Guzzi can make its bikes in Italy, but Triumph can’t make theirs in the UK. I suspect it’s that Triumph is run by the City, whilst MG is run by industrialists across Italy.

@@admiralbeez8143 Triumph at the moment is still owned and run by the Bloor family who live near the Hinckley factory. My personal view as a Brit living near Hinckley is that Triumph's global sales success is more important than where each bike is manufactured. Triumph still employs lots of Brits and if you buy a TFC model you will probably get a Brit built bike. I'm hoping they make it through the uncertain Covid times. Thanks for taking the time to comment

Exploitation to increase profit at the cost of UK machinist school grads is just wrong. Ethical investment? Brasil labor vs Thailand? Parts from Thailand since almost the start and assembled in UK. The Enfield's are looking more and more advanced too but we know that is Indian business success not a shell investment firm. They can't even support their vintage customers just like modern BMW shops in North America.

@@441rider Think things have moved along a little since I made this vid. Triumph have decided to reintroduce general production back to the Hinckley factory and I did see them building bikes there on my 2021 full factory tour. Thanks for your leaving your comments.

Any chance you could test ride an FTR 1200? Went to test ride one last week but it was raining
@Banditmanuk4 жыл бұрын
@@timlowe9346 Would love to but honestly I don't know a friendly dealer that has one. Even though we give the bike and dealer publicity, some are just not interested. Perhaps if I was TMF. All the best.

Too bad they are not employing British workers, not at all Brit bikes anymore rather have a real Triumph thruxton or Triton. Now just another mass marketing thing sad, second world wages increase margins though.

Still about 750 Brits involved in production at Hinckley. Certainly employing more here than the re-vamped Norton factory and Enfields research and development unit near Leicester. We do have more updated vids about the visitor experience including the new bike nights and a full tour of the classic pre Hinckley museum collection by the guy who owns most of them Dick Shepherd.
