Triumph OEM Heated Grip Installation // Speed Twin

Hi here's an update. This video is great BUT only for 2019 2020 models. It took ages but I eventually found the dam three pin connector for the wiring loom on my 2021 upside down fork version. It is mounted on another plastic tray that is held in with one torx screw at the bottom of the headstock near the clutch cable. The connector is right in the front of the frame hidden away beside another white connector. So you don't need to remove that bracket with the other black connectors on just under the front of the tank. It is hidden aargh. I hope this helps for anyone doing this at home on the new model.

Ivor any chance you could post a photo of where the connector is? I have a 2023 Speed Twin (Breitling) and after several hours I had to give up - couldn't find it - even with your feedback. Thank you so much!

@@mattburgener7769 I will try and take a photo after work today. It may need me to move the petrol tank back a little, because it is behind the front bottom left of the petrol tank, underneath the headstock behind a triangular plastic cover that is bolted to the frame with a torx screw. If you have the part number for your grips Triumph have an acessory fitting website where you enter the part number and it shows how to fit it.

@@mattburgener7769 here's a link. This is speed twin I assume the brietling is the same. These instructions show the older forks model, but they look correct because the connector is at the bottom of the headstock in that triangular part where the headstock meets the frame. www.triumphinstructions.com/ProdDocs/A9631556-EN.pdf look at PAGE 13 of the guide and it shows The Speed Twin location. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the clear and concise video. Just got some for my '22 Bobber Gold line. I like to watch how it's done first. It's even easier on the Bobber, they wired everything all the way up to the grip housings for you. No extensions required, no gas tank removal either. It's getting cold around here in CO so these will be a very welcome addition. Take care bud!

Has anyone installed these on a street twin? I have a 2023 speed twin 900( they changed the name,you know,so it wouldn't be confusing!?!?). I looked at mine and i don't think there's a hole in the bar to run the wires.

@Nice Pants Lance ..... delayed reply..... but the grips are great. Three levels of heat. The highest is definitely hot enough to melt chocolate. Only downside is the cost, but the fact they are properly integrated makes up for it. Ps still cold here, but today seems like spring is on the way! Yay!

Im not sure what you mean. The handlebar ends come off with the allen wrench, everything else should slide right off

No not yet. I'm at that point where I'm not sure if i want to add more mods or potentially upgrade to another bike! Although, if i do the suspension id start with a front fork brace

Does the kit come with all of the parts needed? Or will I need to purchase external hardware as well. I'd like to install these myself if possible, the dealership is charged $243 for installation

Yes they come with all the hardware necessary! Just be very careful because the wiring is very thin

I think both of them will technically fit, but you'll wanna go with the A9631556. The description indicates it's better suited for the Speed Twin. The A9638135 part number seems suited for the Thruxton, which I guess technically could cross over to the Speedy

In my opinion, yes. One of the best mods I've done so far. They get pretty hot and it's a very stealthy low-key design. Then again, I ride in cold temps alot
