I am 5’8”, 190 lbs and own 2021 GT, and it’s so well balanced that it’s not unwieldy for my size. Can flat foot it and you can really ride it around town. Also very good bike on long trips, rode 700 miles comfortably the other day. Highly recommended, except the engine is rather hot on stop and go to your right calf.

For me it came down to a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 and my 2022 Harley Davidson FXLRS. I love both, the touring capability and riding comfort made the difference in the end. Both are amazing in their own way although the Rocket 3 is in a class by itself and the craziest production motorbike in the world. I wanted the Rocket 3 all blacked out, the closest thing to the Batcycle.😂

@ Darcy & The Ol' Man: Thank you for this video, love you guys! In my perception the tail section is spot on! It makes the bike look more compact than it actually is. I think the more modern looks suit the bike perfectly. I'm into it when motorcycles look like they ride if that makes sense. The Rocket R is the best selling model over 500cc from Triumph here in Germany. While nobody wants the unlucky R18. I guess BMW tries to turn things around with the R20.

I have a 2023 Rocket-R here in USA in the Matte/Silver-Ice color, and it's absolutely stunning. And you're so correct that it's a head turner, people just stop and look in Aww of the thing. Some mistake it for a 6-cylinder and just ask questions. And yes, the Torque, the engine is such a Masterpiece of engineering, you can actually, feel the Earth, rotate in the opposite direction of the Rocket as it pulls away. It's one of the few Bikes Iv'e owned in my 40+ years of riding, that I will say, this Bike is a Keeper. The all Black color of the storm, I Think hides the engine too much, this Bike and Engine needs contrast to stand out. I try and watch all Rocket-3 Videos here on KZbin, you covered it brilliantly....Bravo 👏👍

I own an R3 in New Zealand. I have recently had RH shoulder surgery, and was concerned that my R3 might be a bit of a problem while recovering from surgery. After getting clearance from my surgeon I have started riding my R3. It’s very easy to ride, and I find that I can use the cruise control and rest my right arm on my lap when it gets a bit sore. I have also had it dynoed, and it now achieves 170hp/200nm at the back wheel. Interesting thing is that this made it easier to ride,as it smoothed out some roughness at lower revs! I also have a Corbin back mudguard which looks stock. I had Harleys for 14 years, and my last HD was a late model FatBoy. I sold that to get the R3.

This year I set a land speed record on a 2021 Rocket 3 GT. Only two changes to the bike 1) removal of the rear license plate holder 2) Removed the ECU restrictions. The best top speed was 152 mph average over one mile. Remember we were running on salt with density of altitude around 6500 feet above sea level. Really two things holding it back 1) aerodynamics are lousy with no place to hide 2) The speed ratings for the rear tires available for this bike is limited to 150 mph. Here is what a run in the salt looks like, on a Rocket 3 kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4TdY6KlnLGMjck

I love my Rocket 3 GT Storm. You are 💯 that it's a head turner and a rider pleaser... it's a do all machine in every sense of the word..... after putting 2200km on it around South East Queensland in Australia, I've added a Quick shifter, panniers, and am just about to tidy up the exhaust as Darcy mentioned, and i did see the Verex single pipe from Tasmania that you spoke of..... but ive landed on putting a Competition werks exhaust on it, a high flow air filter, and have it professionally tuned, for a little bit extra that I know it absolutely doesn't need in any way... lol. The one thing I think would be brilliant to come standard on this bike is a reverse gear, you really have to think about where to park this bike, and if you need to walk.. or push this 300+ kg bike backwards up an incline out of a parking space it's an event to say the least..lol. To be able to put it in reverse, tap the starter and have the engine do the work would be an absolute dream tbh. Glad you two have the same option I came to over this beautiful machine and as always I love watching your videos.... I tried to get myself to your indian tour, but time was a bit short for me on that one... I'd love to do a tour with you guys though.... what a brilliant idea.... but I'd need a little more time that i had to get my affairs in order before trudging off around the globe to motorcycle with you....perhaps mentioned it in a teaser a few extra months out, and you'll have a couple of Aussie lad's and my 60yo auntie who raced flat track and motocross quite successfully here in Australia during the late 70s and early 80s... and still keeps me on my toes on any spirited ride... and as always thanks for the vids regularly, we absolutely love them.

I'm not a cruiser fan (I need a more engaging ride than what the ergonomics of a cruiser gives me) but the Rocket is the one I'd get. As for the looks? Yes please! I appreciate the fact that Triumph and Ducati have done something different with the design language of a cruiser but unlike the Diavel, the Rocket actually looks cool. I'll be sticking with my beloved Street Triple because it's everything I want and more in a motorcycle but if I want bigger, I can see myself considering a Rocket.

The Rocket 3 (imo),is one of those rare bikes that became an instant icon from its debut.Intimidating, much like the Yamaha VMAX,but one that you must ride at some point, putting all fear aside.I too, would like to see a proper full mud guard on the rear,as in its present form it looks incomplete.Perhaps,an adjustable windscreen for more protection at those blistering high speeds as well.Lets see if Triumph listens, and sketches up the next iteration with our thoughts in mind.As always, thank you gents, for your much appreciated reviews.👍👍

With all due respect, if you would redesign the bike to make it look like every bike before it, it wasn't made for your aesthetic desires. The sportbike-like rear cowl, digital instruments and double headlight are exactly what this bike needs stylistically. It makes it appear less bulky, more unique and hints to its performance.

This is one of them bikes I call "Dream of a dream to own" kinda bike, it's hefty on the wallet but would get it if I can :D Edit: I would like the next rocket 3 to be more like a high stance cruiser with enough clearance and the rear mudguard needs some rounded swoop at the back. though the bike with single swing arm does change how designs go and hiding it would be a shame. But changing how to exhaust pipes goes can also alter the design to compliment the single swing arm also works with a down swipe look would be another alternate way of doing it, and making the back a bit extended but not cover the tires for a bit of a chopper design sort of a bobber design since the bike is to me a bobber kind of bike already... just make it even bobbier xDDD words are not my strongest forte and needed some wordsmiths to help me here!!! all in all, the bike is amazing by itself and I would honestly not change a thing on it, Untill I own it long enough that I want some changes like different tires, colors on the frames and maybe even some custom pipes :D

That license plate is large enough to be a mudguard! As far as tanks go, I would make it with a much larger tank with enough capacity, perhaps 7 gallons (US)? There would be a real fender up front and out back. LED lights all 'round and if the tire is going to be that big it needs to be a radial that can go further than a few thousand miles before it really needs replacing. Twin clocks? Damn right. And speaking of being right, this thing is a Standard that is above and beyond any of those stupid "NUDIST" motorbikes. The Rocket III pays homage to no one but Triumph. It certainly doesn't do what a Starley or Kawacopy does and rip off HD and that is to be appreciated. Excellent sense of humor Sir Dad of Darcy! Well done, indeed and I too enjoy the looks of Christian Churches from centuries gone by. Thank you and keep putting the great back into Great Britain! Darcy/The Ol' Man...quick question. When you guys were riding this bike, did you notice any fling of mud or water on the back of your jackets? Did the rear wheel license plate guard protect the water from flinging upward to hit you? With all that said, the ONLY thing I would change is to extend the rear wheel license plate holder so that all the potential mud and water would, instead, hit the undertail section instead of potentially hitting the riding on the back of his/her jacket.....perhaps there's a genius out there that could design and sell an 'add on' to extend that license plate rear holder by 4 to 8 inches as it would simple be a 'clip on' that could easily be attached to the end of the license plate holder thus extending that rear wheel license holder by 4 to 8 inches..

If I were going to redesign the Rocket 3 then It would definitely have to have that rear end seat section lengthened up to the end of the rear tyre. This would mean more room for both rider and pillion and could have the option to fit hard luggage where it would fit in more with the bike. It doesn't have to end up looking like a goldwing or K1600 but just something more substantial to match the front.

@MrDarcy-OlMan cool, I'm liking the bike. It'd now one of the top bikes on my list

I’m 5”6 with a few years of riding. Currently on a Street Twin. How extreme a change would this be in terms of manoeuvring and handling at slow speed? I’ve sat on it in the showroom many times and the seat height is favourable, but what about living with one?

Greetings, in comparison to your street twin, I would say that the Rocket is substantial in every way. Where you can muscle your bike around you rely on the Rocket to "let" you do what you want it to. You feel the bike's presence but it remains very capable on any paved road. Just plan how and where you park. It is quite long and heavy. I've had mine for almost a year and I haven't stopped getting excited to ride it. I went from the speed triple to the rocket, and if I were to describe what the Rocket is. I would say that it's the Speed Triple that's spent way too many hours in the gym. I love mine. I don't see how anyone would not.

It’s a bit like going from a pony to a rhinoceros, but we found the weight and size perfectly manageable, but we are a bit taller than you. 👍🏼
