Thanks for this video. I just installed my new Ramair system with the help of this video and it all went very well. One small possible tip for installers would be that I used a telescopic magnet while undoing those cheeky bolts holding the plenum on. I held the magnet ready and undid the bolts until I could feel them losing purchase and then inserted the magnet and removed both bolt and washer. Thanks again for the vid!

Thanks for the vid. A great help. Fitted my kit today. I didn't get the rubber grommet, but didn't need it as a snug fit anyway. Also didn't get the nylock nut, but found one in my bucket of spares. Following on from your comment in the vid about sealing the old air box, I slid a sheet (cut out of a zip lock gladbag) of plastic over the opening & refitted the original clamp.

At 10.00 minutes in the video when you had the issue with the allen key to get off the Plenum. USE A BALL HEX key, that way you can still turn them at up to a 35 degree angle. Thanks to watching your video I was able to get one and it made it so very easy! Your video rocks by the way. Mine went on easy.

My valve cover gasket failed like so many others. This is the only video I can find for someone that isn't a gearhead to remove stuff for that process as well. It is a bit daunting for someone who isn't mechanical. Once that tank comes up, it's like holy cow that is a lot of stuff in a tight spot. Again, thanks for the video. I think I might switch over to the RamAir at the same time I do the fix.

Question about the crank case breather pipe: after pulling the rubber hose or pipe as you refer to it, do you need to plug the end of that hose? Also, I might suggest disconnecting the battery prior to beginning the project (both terminals) and running a jumper wire across the + and - cables (NOT THE BATTERY TERMINALS!!) thereby purging any memory from the ECM and allowing it to reprogram itself from a fresh start. Then reconnect the battery after the installation is complete and allow the ECM to re-tune itself as you demonstrated. (That jumper wire WILL NOT harm the ECM).

@meangene51042 жыл бұрын
Awesome video thanks for the great work, I've heard of some people sharing a concern about water possibly getting into the throttle bodies through the system, is this something I really need to worry about? Another question, my bike has a Corbin seat which eliminated that air duct that is supposed to channel air into the system, so I'm probably running inefficiently in terms of air intake, my bike runs great and I love it, is it worth doing this ram Air kit? What kind of performance increase can I expect if any? I have the stock exhaust with the catalytic converter removed

I ran Unifilters on my 2005 R3 (it still hasn't burnt to the ground, Ruzzle 🤞) and I'm considering either these RamAir or K&N filters. The Unifilters breath really well, but they're mucky damn things. I'm not sure ethic ck breathes better, the RamAir or the K&N 2650 (I may have that model number wrong on the K&N) 🇦🇺

Great video. I cant help but wonder way Triumph didnt make the intake like this from the factory. The cost cant be much different, cheaper i would think than all the ducting to the under seat filter. The only upside to the under seat filter is it might stay a bit cleaner and less chance of sucking in water when its raining.

Great video Wayne. Nice job with one hand holding the camera. It’s been nearly 3 years since you posted. If you still have the bike, did you upgrade the exhaust and put in a PC? I ve had the same idea😅 and luckily a good guy in my store helped to realize… we build a real ram air on our own. It’s strange to follow the idea what’s inside triumph to create the path for air, it’s not only the long way… more astonishing is.. the air will get realy warm before entering the engine, cause of the path over the exhaust..

@exlynxjock7 жыл бұрын
Rocket Man yes it will require a re tune. You can get the dealer to do it or you can simply upload a new fuel map your self using a lap top and a program called tune ecu which is available FREE to down load. The only extra you need purchased is the lead that connects the lap top from usb to the diagnostic port on the bike. Check out the rocket forums online. There are plenty of proffessionaly modified dyno tunes to choose from.

None what so ever, if you want them open all the time, use tune ECU, and set them 100% open at all throttle and RPM settings in every gear, takes two mins and can be reversed any time you like.

great video wayne northam - i was going to video my installation today but I think you got it all covered sir! This is gonna sound like spam, but it ain't…Not sure if you're aware, but you can download this free software called TuneECU to remap your Rocket…I did mine (have the TOR pipes) and changed a couple of things (opened up the secondaries in the first three gears - which I don't think you'd need as you have a newer one than my 2012), raised the rev limit, and speed limiter, adjusted the speedo so it's accurate to GPS - well worth it if you have a Windows PC to run it from, and a cheap $10 USB to OBDII cable.
@brianlumb76569 жыл бұрын
evo moto Evo, I am thinking of going the TuneECU route as well on my 07 Rocket. Do you have a link to where I can get the correct cable? I have a TuneBoy cable for my now gone Sprint ST 1050, but I don't feel like giving them $150 just to add a vin number for the new bike for the software, especially considering that Tune ECU is free. Just picked up new TORS for my Rocket and will soon have the K&N or Ramair filter kit too. Thanks.

hey good job now what u need to do is remove the governor butterfly in all 3 injection stacks . just pull them out and run like u did and the engine management light will go out and when u twist the throttle everybody is at home straight away I did this and also split the cat converter and removed all the guts so its hollow and also removed every thing inside the mufflers I have no power commander just got triumph to install the baddest tune they have it may be me but if I nuts mine from the lights I start to black out . ha ha and under my belt is shit loads of Harley's

Steven Penny no need to remove secondaries, simply go into ECU, using the tune ECU program and select or set secondary throttles to be open at all speeds and throttle settings and in all gears. They then remain fully open at all times.
