60 mph isn't that quick however. But I understand. It's more about the gearing of a particular bike than it is peak power. Most racetrack bikes have a stupid tall 1st gear which makes launching very difficult.

Gotta ride one of these one day. The low end hit must be awesome. My 1000cc RR had about 100 pounds and 150 HP and just that felt like it had hellishly strong pull even in the low end, I can't imagine having 240 ft/lb. Please do be careful with this bike though. Even though it will match or even outdo a 1000cc in power it still doesn't have the frame of one for stability at high speeds.

Having ridden this incredible machine, I can testify that it's as smooth as butter. The pull is so hard and fast that it blurs your vision. I always thought of it as the Caddilac of bikes. @DavidErdman-JLSRealEstate Жыл бұрын
@@brentmiller7901 The amount of torque the Rocket has is so strong, it pulls the 800lbs around as though it doesn't exist. I'm not sure that a person can comprehend this unless they actually ride it. The other remarkable aspect of this bike is that though you're up to 80mph in about two seconds, there is no feeling . . . at all . . . that you're about to fall off the back of the bike. That said, a person would be wise to offer you $22,000 - $25,000 for it. From Nova to Rocket . . . unreal.

Just as the rev counter goes red at about 6,500 revs, I'd put a little marker on the rev counter (maybe a little bright red dot) at the point where the front wheel begins to lift off the ground? --- rally car drivers have for many years marked the centre of the steering wheel with white tape as a visual reminder of when the wheels are facing straight ahead.

I have a rocket 3, owned it for 7 years. One thing I will say is that its very hard to take sharp corners on it, especially hairpins or slightly lesser corners. I ride mine in rural Scotland where the roads are very bendy and sharp, you have to take it easy on the corners there, you just don't know what lies beyond, mud or grit or some tractor parked just round the bend. Don't get me wrong I really know how to ride my rocket, its become second nature to me, but like I say it does not lean over as easy as one might think, after all its not a racing bike, and even if you do lean it over it will peg out very easily, and that can be dangerous. Its designed for cruising on the open road where it comes into its own, nothing will beat it there and I mean NOTHING! All in all, I would not part with it its such a thrill, and I have had many bikes in my life.

Not if you set it up properly. It requires extra fuel management hardware and software and has to be tuned just right on a dyno. I don't know of anyone making a kit anymore. You can get a supercharger from TTS in England and Carpenter Racing in the states does engine mods increasing HP without boost. They had a turbo kit in the works but I don't think it ever materialized. Join r3owners.net if you have not already done so. A wealth of information for R3 owners. How did you get your rev to 8k rpm?
@brentmiller79015 жыл бұрын
Not sure where you're seeing that in the vid. I can only rev to 7k. The rev limit has been adjusted with tune ECU to 6700 and the tach is reading about 300 rpm high in the upper end. The rev limit can be set to 8K with tune ECU but the motor would self destruct at that without some valve work being done first. Carpenter racing bikes can easily do 8k rpm.
