Its 2024, I have just seen your review and I bloody like it. In fact I am buying a 2023, will be fitting a rear rack, lower crash bar, metal bash plate, Barkbusters and metal radiator guard, and heated handgrips....oh yes and a Screen to reduce wind bashing me! David....Adelaide.....

Put a "Dart" screen on it. Takes the pressure off the chest at speed.

I was seriously interested as there are so many things to like: reasonable weight, torque. But I couldn't live with the high pipes for 1) riding position and 2) luggage. Thunderbird headers and tailor made system??? Plus fabricate guard under all of that? My 1000km days on a naked bike are done. I think it's a beautiful day out bike.

I have same bike, I've made most of the changes/additions that you suggest Still making my mind up about which seat option to go for but have an alaska leathers wool seat pad for now which does make a huge difference. The guys at teknik will probably sort you out suspension wise. I did approach them but unfortunately was stone walled for some reason. They did an awesome job on my dr650. Im going to Terry now at shock treatment. Taking mine upto the Cape next month

Interested to know how you got on going up the Cape on your 1200 ?

@@TwoTubesADV I did the Bloomfield track and Lakefield National Park but turned back once I reached the PDR. Conditions were too harsh for my riding experience and bike set up. If I were to do it again, definitely a support vehicle to carry equipment and better (proper off road) tyres once on dirt. Was an awesome trip that far, Shock treatment set my suspension up brilliantly and the bike handled water crossings etc really well. Bulldust was a problem with the tyres and big load on the back Awesome scenery up there.

@@lawdayl hi Neil. Many thanks for getting back to me and great effort in getting as far as you did on such a big big bike mate. I've heard a lot about exhaust heat from that side pipe and in our climate, especially up north on your cape trip, how bad was it? ATB Jason

@@TwoTubesADV I've never had a problem with exhaust heat but I wear adv boots, decent knee braces so pretty well insulated.

Luv the look of the XC. I’d add bar end mirrors & rear rack for gear when away on a 2 up long weekend with better half. Maybe a heat shield for right leg ? 🍻 Otherwise perfect.
