I dont mind the new headlights. They just need the flyscreen to go with them. IMO, the older models look better without the flyscreen and the new model looks better with it.

Sold my 1050 build 2007, i got teh new one, and i like ist. Its soooo good and better and prettier than the old one. The Old one was a nice bike too and i would not chanced it, but for the new one ist right

i would not sell my 1050 07 speed triple for the new one, i just cannot get my head round the new lights. the new styling has been softened and it no longer has that hunched agressive feel.

I had a 2007 Speedy and just tested out the 2011 model. I was hopeing it would be more flickable in the corners, but its still a slow turning bike. I was so disapointed. Also, I wish the seating position was more upright. My 2007 was a more comfy ride and handled just as good.

i dont know, first bike i rode on the road, i ride my dads on a regular basis (18 now, first powered motorcycle over 50 cc XD) and i dont have any problems, keep in mind if you fuck up things go sideways really quick and keep your ego in check and you should be okay (as far as what new guys usually get hurt for) i love the torque, any range you have power! and the engine braking sounds sooo sweet. his is an 08 white of course with the arrow exhaust! and a beefed up tune boy map.

@Rufus804 The Z1000 is a cool bike, but have you ridden any of the Triumph triples? The engines have this shrieky, growly personality that seems just a bit unhinged vs. comparable Japanese bikes. On top of that, they're bizarrely smooth at high RPMs (so smooth that I regularly forgot to shift above 3rd gear when cruising on the highway). I used to have a ZRX1200 with a Kerker pipe, and while powerful and smooth it felt very tame next to my dad's Triple 955i.

Yesterday I decided which one to buy: the 2011 or the 2010... I buyed the 2010. In my opinion the one with the more classic Triumph looks. The new bike looks to much Itialian or Japanese to me.. I also love my Porsche 964RS instead of the 997... Guess I'm a more Old School guy...

I just bought one of these without a test ride, and insurance is 3 times more then my FZ1, thats how much i wanted one. cant wait to pick it up friday. but looking at the striaght line accelleration i noticed its quite slow compared to my FZ1. yeh iv tuned it to 150bhp but it went from 100mph to 160 about twice as fast as this did. gutted as im wondering why im paying £1150 to insure the bugger!! looks alone tho the triple wins :-)

@7ru It lost a millionty tonnes of weight and shifted what is left to where it is needed. Aparently' they feel almost as nimble as a street.

@ayodya7 Haha, hopefully they're more powerful than the round ones. The one thing I remember about the Speed Triple's lamps was that they were really weak for night riding (compared to Honda and BMW, anyway). Maybe the new ones are brighter.

surely it didn't top out at 150 mph?? my 675 has (according to the speedometer) done 168mph (271kmh), and it had slightly more. Has Jardine slip-on that wasn't even tuned.

Will ALL OF YOU stop saying those headlights are or aren't.. it's all a matter of personal taste, the most important thing is performance, personally i dislike both type of headlights, I prefer GSR600 2007 or Yamaha FZ1 headlights, but I love the three cylinder engine, mono swing arm and so on.., so I would chose Triumph.

Yeah, the new headlights are pretty hideous. I know they're trying to make it look like someone stripped the plastic off a sportbike and left the contoured headlamps, but something went very, very wrong. Having spent some considerable time on the Daytona 955i and 675 and the Triple 955i and the 1050, I'm sure it's still a fucking riot on the road. It seems like every year these Triumph engines get better.

I don't like the new lights, I agree with others that it looks more Japanese. They probably changed the lights so that they can sell a roiund-light-accessory so you can make your speed triple "different" than everyone elses. I think they should have changed the gearing. I had a 955i a while back and it was so hard to accelerate hard from a stop without looping it.

I have a 2009 and scrape pegs in corners on it. More then able to keep up (and pass) superbikes in corners - but thats not bike, that just skillz. Too many posers on race bikes imo. And guess what? Me n my goofy orange dragon smoke em... just to say bike dosnt need more power, but refinement in chassis and suspension, for quicker handling. I think they got it. this is in regards to STREET riding. Track is diff matter. In that case I go Fireblade.
