I put a deposit down on one of these today (in red) one of the vary last new ones left, price was a VERY good, at £11,500. Just incredible, love the look of it, and hopefully it will be the gentleman’s sports bike that I’m after. Very nice review, I liked the un rushed and calm approach, thank you.

Great review. Many thanks. Can’t believe the mirrors are still no better than my 2003 Sprint RS, ( you have to wait for a corner or move your elbow in to guess at what’s behind) But I’d still buy one in a heartbeat!

Having owned the the RR for a year, I can confirm two things. 1. The mirrors are woeful. I can only assume that the Triumph test riders only ride with their heads flat on the fuel tank (being in a full on race position being the only position the mirrors work) 2. The handlebars are too low (I've solved by putting higher clip on's on - like a brilliant sports tourer now)

Great review! .. Its basically the modern Rolex Version of the old Sprint RS... That's how I see this bike, just better in every way but same ethos I think with a greater emphasis on sport riding. £17,950 though? Plus a few little touches here and there..I dunno... 2 x £9k buys two very good bikes! Doesnt mean it won't sell! and I'm looking forward to trying it.
@bennettsbikesocial

Thanks for the comment. A lot of the price goes down to the individual components and their additional benefit, particularly the fancy suspension which is so complex in how it operates yet relatively simple for the rider to make inputs if required, or just let the system get on with making its adjustments. Only time will tell how popular it'll prove. All the best, Michael

A little late for this comment but I just wanted to say that these bikes sold very poorly, so they’re not being made anymore and you can get a near new example for just over 10k pounds. IMO at that reprice they’re well worth it.

@@Rotormc yeah, two years on and they're a real bargain now! My local dealer was pushing them out brand new at circa 13k I think... Would love to see Triumph use this engine and suspension on a new 1200 Tiger sport or a revised Sprint ST though. Give the Gsxs1000GT, GX and Ninja 1000SX a run for their money!

I like this but narrowness doesn’t complement me, same as the Yamaha’s very narrow, when I sit on it they’d look like a super mini’s but I do like the idea, especially for us older blokes getting abit creaky. The roads from Marbella to Ronda are unreal for bikes, done that a few times.

Nice bike but too expensive. For circa £18k you could buy a Superveloce from MV or a Ducati V4 Streetfighter. Both different but likely to appeal to the same customers. Either would seem a better option to me…
@MattNeighbour

Superveloce is reported to be uncomfortable and is significantly more expensive IIRC, Streetfighter has less sporty ergos. Triumph are aiming for the sweet spot with this one. I'll certainly give it a test ride.

Nice review MM. I’ve riden the 1200 RS and it’s an amazing bike, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this compares. I had issues at first with 1st, 2nd and neutral on the RS but a light touch does the job, also, a lot of my followers have commented on the clutch cable covering the tft across the Speed Range for years, personally, it’s not a problem for me. Apart from that, I’m sure it’s an awesome bike to ride, I look forward to seeing a few on the road in the UK because at the end of the day, we all like different things and there’s a lot of bikers who love the look of the RR! 😁👍

No, the purpose of the mirrors is to see beside you, so you don't change lanes into a blind spot. No one understands how to adjust them properly. That's why all the mfgs are adding sensors and lights on the mirror to let the driver know there's someone next to them. Real mirrors should be so splayed out that you can see a car that's almost right beside you. If a cop gets behind you, you'll hear the siren.

@@bennettsbikesocial If you ever need to make a quick decision, taking time to look over your shoulder may backfire. Great review apart from the god awful music. Haven't we gotten past the stage where Editors or Directors feel that, when there's a fast, sporty bike being featured, they feel compelled to play some sort of nasty, generic 'rock music', that wouldn't even appeal to a brain dead Teenager, let alone someone who can afford a 17,000 Pound bike ? I know they think it generates excitement, but it's about as appealing as listening to someone drag their nails across a blackboard, it been like that since 'Top Gear' etc., started doing it in the '80's, time to move on, please.
