One thing I was taught by a ex Police Biker was you never overtake where there is any form of junction on the right. The vehicle you are overtaking can turn across you, or more typically someone can turn left out of the junction and hit you head on. Often people at a junction when turning left only look to the right as they don’t expect someone coming towards them on the wrong side of the road. Don’t be in a rush to put yourself into danger

Good Goldy advices. Filtering is a patience's game. Relevant speed must not exceed about 20 km/h.(The fastest man can run) Thanks a lot.

Good thing to watch for is front tyres pointing or crossing the line, often times that will happen before you can see car turning or getting into your lane.

Re group riding, when I flew for Wales air ambulance nearly every bike accident we attended when there’d been a group ride-out was either the leader or the last bike. The leaders often seemed to feel the need to impress their mates by pushing hard and of course they were first to meet a hazard. The tail-enders were often less experienced riders or riders on lower-powered bikes trying to keep up. When I rode in a group, we’d stick to our route and have fairly regular coffee breaks, each rider being encouraged to go at their comfortable pace

Staying back and giving a bit of run up room, then getting on the gas, closing up behind the car, AND THEN getting over into the on-coming lane means you spend less time in the wrong lane. The animation showed it the proper way, but not spelled out so. As opposed to matching the car's pace, then pull out, THEN gas.

Yeah, reduce the time exposed to danger so youre only on the wrong side fr minimum time. Have you noticed lately people seem more skittish? Drive very slowly even on open roads and can be prone to brake chaecking you when they see you accelerte behind. I dont want it to sound like you pop out at the last second but absolutely yes, as you describe.

In the last year I have had three different cars put their right indicator on and move partially to the right just as I start the overtake. There has been no car to overtake or right turn to take . I believe this has been done on purpose to put me off or intimidate me. 😡

@@teamgas I’ve never witnessed that but it sounds like a real confidence knocker. Unless the driver has seen something ahead such as a pothole, gravel or roadkill, that you might not have. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing, it’s something else to be aware of. Cheers, Michael

When I do slow speed riding I don't slip the clutch or use revs twice the idling speed. My bike doesn't have a clutch or idle. It's electric. Slow speed riding in a straight line is easy. Slow speed cornering is harder as it's a heavy bike.

I have to say that I am not convinced with regards to the content and comments of this video. If I was scoring out of 5 I would give it a 2 or 3 out of 5. Some bits are ok and some are not ok. It was somewhat simplistic when talking about a serious subject but in very basic terms and diagrams. Statistically one is in the greatest of danger in an overtake as some 1 in 8 riders/pillion passengers die every year on overtakes that go wrong. The best advice I would give is first not to overtake as basically Police Roadcraft tell us not to unless there is a NEED to and we don't have their NEED, so by not overtaking we are keeping ourselves safer. Secondly do not go into a tailgating position at all as this is extremely dangerous and more so if following a vehicle closely and round a bend. If that car brakes we are in serous trouble. So no tailgating means a pulling back to the safer following position and if necessary remaining there. I am sure there is more to come.

Is it English road? Because it's important 😅

You need to get abroad more, as left hand driving is very common around the world. It’s not just in England.
