@@drewmorg. The reason I love Schaafs videos is because you get a way better impression of what ACTUALLY matters: how the bike riding experience is. We get to see it thrown around a bit, and we get a short and concise impression. Who cares if the model has a 2.3% increase in torque and 1.5kg less dry weight, or if it has 10bhp more than its rival?

Man, I remember watching an older Street triple video of yours (without the quickshifter varient, as you mentioned in the vid) and instantly being a fan of your work :) This video took me back there, haha! On the side note, white looks incredibly well on this bike!

The R is the one everyone should buy because it’s the better street bike, but more people will buy the RS because it doesn’t cost significantly more for all the upgrades. I had the 675 Rx years ago and have yet to try the 765. I think this update could be the best Street Triple ever except for the original.

So very true. I have a deposit on the R and despite having no compelling reason to get the RS, I've been thinking about calling the dealership to move the deposit over to the RS 😅

@@corvinhua4479 I would do it for the paint colors alone. The Carnival Red and Cosmic Yellow are stunning! The up-spec equipment and increased power would be bonuses.

@@mindspinn311 yeah, the red and yellow are amazing. I can't decide between the two. The up-specs are all track-focused. But I'm just a street rider, so not necessary. The dealer said OEM cruise control can be installed on the RS, but not R 🤷‍♂️

Have to disagree. How on earth is it the better street bike? Lose the 10mm spacer on the RS and you have the exact same specs fir rake, trails, etc. Only with MANY upgrades.

Love this bike, I test rode the same exact color scheme R model at the local dealer. Had plans to get a MT-09, instead ended up getting a slightly used 2020 Street Triple R. It is an excellent motorcycle to say the least. ❤

At least you can change the exhaust on the last gen model. Cant do it on the new one afaik. Also the analog rev counter with the shifting flash is much more asthetic imo

Yeah surprisingly those were a couple of the things in my mind when researching these motorcycles. Euro 5 has made it a pain to modify exhausts. My 2020 came with a SC Project S1 slip on which I really enjoy. Debating whether to remove the DB Killer.

Do not remove the db killer it's gonna get really uncomfortable during long weekend rides. I had to put mine back on because i almost lost my hearing 😅😂

@@saleemanwar31 bought a '21 model october last year and im totally happy. The S1 is not permitted for street use here in Germany but mine had the SC1 R on it. The Sound is a blast for Euro 5!

I test rode one three weeks ago and loved it, the engine was great, offering plenty of power down low and a lot of it in the higher parts of the rev range, quick shifter was buttery smooth, suspension was great and I was quite surprised with how good the brakes were. I agree with you in the sense that they are a bit tricky to operate smoothly since they have a really aggressive bite. The seating position was much more aggressive than what I was expecting (maybe because I rode to the dealership on a R1200GSA haha), leaning a bit on the bars and I felt like I was over the front wheel, although that provides plenty of feedback for fast paced riding. However, I ended up buying a Z900 because I found a crazy good deal and I’m loving it. Great video as always 😊

I'm stuck between the z900 and the triple Im buying either one or the other but leaning towards the 900 because of the price and I just love the look from the riding position I like the look of the triple but not so much from the riding position I know I might sound fussy but hope you enjoy your new ride

@@gmanlimitedanderson-0drisc211 thanks! I can say that both are plenty fun to ride and have more than enough power, although the Z900 is much more comfortable. Also, as you said, the looks of the Z from the riding position are awesome!

I'm with you there, Shaaf. The Street triple will always have a place in my heart, it just seems to do everything you want with no fuss and fits me like a glove. I would be interested to ride the new RS and the R, I think the R is probably the one I would go for, for the much stated reasons, in other reviews. Great road, great bike...what's not to like? @@ventisette.Every performance motorcycle should come with a steering damper. It's completely transparent when it's not needed and it can save you life when it is.

Geiles Teil. Konnte sie letztes Jahr am Salzburgring testen und war direkt geflasht. Aufsitzen und Wohlfühlen und der Dreizylinder macht sowieso süchtig. Vom Design her sagt mir die 1200er mehr zu aber das ist Geschmackssache.

As you might know i own a Speed Triple 1200RS wich i bought after selling my Street Triple 675RS. But i still love the streety for beeing more a little more agile especially in very tight corners. The reason why i swapped for the Speed was it offers lot more grunt from the low revs wich i think is still one of the street triples major issues when you compare it f.e. to a duke 890. On the other hand i loved reving the shit outta the little engine, if you would do that with the speed i would come to speeds wich are far beyond what is good for keeping my license. I would love to have this engine in some sort of sportstourer like the tiger sport, the 660 engine is far behind the 765`s.

Dear Shaaf, i see you like this Triumph a lot, you were in wild mode...😁 This bike in RS version tempts me, I love the sound and the price is affordable, as a BMW RNineT alternative. But, I'm afraid it's a bit small for me, I rented an MT10 2023 this weekend, I was comfortable with it and had a lot of fun, it's handy and great in slow as well as fast, but it's too powerful. I'm pretty undecided. 🤔😅

Hi mate, i really enjoyed watching few of your videos, and i was wondering if you could do some MV agusta stuff like turismo veloce (oftenly faced to Tiger 900 or multistrada V2) or brutale 800/dragster 800...or Moto guzzi V100 mandelo or Kawasaki Z900RS review ;) I love the sound capture in you vids and as i can't ride right now (rip my fz6s) and planning to upgrade it would be great to see something like that. Of course, might be tricky if you have no dealerships. And yeah... i know, still split between sport tourer or naked bike... But so far with this one, tuono 660 (wich i rode tho), GSX1000S, nine-t .... You nailed it. and i kinda share your view. :p Keep the great content flowing ;) PS : love that when you are driving fast/hard, you still hold to the safety line... and never cut corners. So many ride like on racetrack...

I’ll always be partial to the sound of the 675. It’s just a little angrier sounding, maybe a little less balanced in sound. It was the first bike I ever fell in love with. My kids can sell it if they want, because I never will!

Hey Schaaf as always nice video! what do you think about putting your throttle hand at an angle with the bar? Lastly this technic has become the final correct way to do that on KZbin, or this is what i find.

Tolles Video. Ich hatte bisher 3 Street Triples (2010 675 R, 2015 675 R und 2019 765 RS). Ich habe alle geliebt :-) Aber mittlerweile ist mir der Kniewinkel bei meinen 1,85m zu spitz geworden. Zumindest in der Lederkombi wird das nach einer Stunde recht unangenehm in der Kniekehle. Man wird halt nicht jünger :-) Nun habe ich immer mal wieder an die MT09 gedacht, die ja ebenfalls einen famosen Drilling hat. Leider kann ich mich einfach nicht mit der Optik anfreunden.

Saubere Historie! Ja, ich glaub auch, dass mir der Kniewinkel auf Dauer zu spitz wär. Aber ich konnte noch nie länger mit einer fahren, um das überprüfen zu können

Ach je, das Leid kenn. Entweder ist meine Lederkombi geschrumpft oder meine Beine sind länger geworden (doubt it). Auf jeden Fall spannt sie seit ich meine XSR 900 nicht mehr habe (die hatte einen sehr relaxten Kniewinkel). Vielleicht ist die neue XSR 900 ja was für dich? Von der Sitzposition fand ich meine alte deutlich besser als die MT-09, weil man doch ein bisschen mehr zum Lenker geneigt und nicht so total aufrecht wie auf der MT sitzt. Nur das Fahrwerk wirst du auf der XSR sehr wahrscheinlich etwas optimieren wollen, wenn du von einer 765 RS kommst.

The old quickshifter in the 675 shifted quicker in the lower revs. This new one takes long cuts between shifts at lower rpms. Maybe something to do with reliability

Sweet bike and great riding. The headlights on these from the factory are ugly as sin but luckily there are aftermarket options that look the business.

Very tempting, not sure how you're supposed to keep your licence tho because evertime you ask 'are we there yet' the bike tells you 'nah, still going'. Definitely on my shortlist even tho the front looks a little like a comic wasp to me.

I have her grandmother at home (first gen 675). The original street triple sounds a lot better then this one. Although this should be the technical better bike, I wouldn’t trade mine for a new one. Currently shopping for a new touring bike, I will keep my STR for the weekends. Never gonna sell mine, will keep it forever.

Now these videos are what I like to see! Real world use without the track element. I watched your XSR 900 ride and it was as impressive as the rest of your collection Schaaf. But it does beg the question, for those of that don't have the ability to test ride bikes, if you had to choose just one bike would you choose this Triumph over the XSR 900 or would you go with the XSR? And if so, then why? Cheers!

Was a bit thrown off seeing you not ride the usual route, cheers. Also, I thought the new dash is extremely ugly but seeing it as in this I think I was a bit too harsh, it’s actually decent!

I'm in the exact same position as you (even same height). I'm currently debating between the 765 R and Z900 - the former seems like the better deal, since it costs just slightly more (new) than the Z900 (in Austria, at least), but also offers a quickshifter and cornering ABS + traction control. Only thing I'm wondering is how the 765 R is suited for riders with little experience like me, as many people say that the Z900 is great for both beginners and experienced riders.

RS is definitely a more aggressive bike than the SP. The Yamaha is probably a better day to day street bike.

Welcher Motor gefällt dir besser: MT 09 oder Street Tripple R ??? Ich nehme an von der Kraftentfaltung mit wenig Drehzahl ist die MT09 noch etwas stärker ?

Vom Gefühl her ja. Dafür ist der Triumph Motor gefühlt drehfreudiger, was mir persönlich mehr Spaß macht. Aber ohne einen direkten Vergleich bin ich mir da gar nicht so sicher :)

I love your vids! In your experience do you feel like the 765 is a better street bike than a Trident 660 when it comes to engine response and ride? I rode a Trident and was surprised how eager the bike felt in every gear, likely due to close ratios. I know the 765 has a big bump in hp, but presumably longer gearing. Trying to decide between the two

Hey, i got a trident and a 765r. In my opinion the bikes are pretty simular when youre on a relaxed ride. The 765r is more agressive in high rpm and the suspension and the brakes are way better. If you like to ride fast, i would go for the 765! Hope this helps.

Awesome, I appreciate the feedback! I currently have a Tiger 900 for moto camping/adv stuff, but am looking for something fun for day rides on the tarmac. Do you feel like one of the two has a softer more plush ride? Lots of rough roads where I live unfortunately

@@flyinryan7340 you're welcome. Well i think you should go for a 765. The suspension is adjustable. The suspension is super stiff but you can adjust it. So that won't be a problem. Ive tried some faster rides last weeks and it was so much fun! You cant go wrong with buying a 765r in my opinion!

Alles gut, ich muss auf der Straße immer wieder mal besonders heftigen Wellen oder Längskanten ausweichen. Sieht dann auf Video natürlich etwas riskant aus

Hey mate, thank you for the detailed review as always. I get that they tweaked the engine and shorten the gearing to assist with upping the torque figures but how good is the delivery - really? By this I mean not drawing comparisons as an improvement on previous gen model, but rather, against its competition such as the 890 Duke? I do mainly weekend twisties and about 4 track days per year so the vast majority of my riding is done on the road so I love having 100nm territory of torque on tap (currently riding a Nuda). I just love the build quality of the Street Triple over the 890 Duke which just feels plastic and cheap compared to the triumph. I'm booked to do a test ride but it wont be in the mountains so I can't really give it a good thrashing to understand properly how the 765 can deliver the 80nm of torque. Cheers.

good question. In my opinion, it delivers well enough down low not to get frustrated. But it will always seem weak compared to something like an 890 Duke which simply explodes from the bottom.

what would you choose the striple 765 R or the rs 660? I love trackdays,sporty riding and doing some long-ish tours like from my home in Carinthia to munich. I was thinking about upgrading the suspension of the RS 660 or save that money to get a 765 RS. I'm a big fan of supersports but idk, I had the tuono 660 factory before so its basically the same

J'aime sa facilité, sa douceur, la possibilité de rouler tranquillement avec de bonnes reprises mais aussi de monter vivement dans les tours pour s'amuser entre les virages. . Comment se situe la street R en termes de reprise par rapport à la trident que tu as eu l'occasion d'essayer ?

The Street R feels and is quite a lot more aggressive. The suspension is less comfortable and the engine only explodes at the top of the revs. In short, the Trident will feel better in daily life. But when you want to go fast, the Street Triple is in a different league.

i had a z900 a while ago, now i have this bike (2024 in the states). imo, the z900 has it beat in almost every way other than looks (as you said, might be down to just personal preference in most cases). there was a couple year gap between them, so its hard to judge precisely. in general, maybe the triumph has better handling, but i thought the high speed characteristics (over 100mph) was a lot better on the Z. the engine was less buzzy. i felt like i was sitting IN the bike (definitely personal preference). also the top speed didn't make you work so hard to achieve... this bike seems to rush up to 130~135, then lazily work its way up to top speed. the Z would not let up all the way to 150. the triumph hits like a rocket when you pin the throttle between 120 and 130, so you can tell it has the beans to continue all the way to redline, but feels like it's being limited... so maybe an ecu flash can fix it.

It kind of sounds like you were on mostly straight roads or either sweeping bends. The z would get munched in tight twisties. Did you do interstate?

@@escapingthematrix3 i was thinking of the ninja 1000 or the gsxs1000 GT, as my next bike. those would be good for longer rides, but still very sporty for some fun. i test rode the ninja1000 and it felt very very comfortable.
