Triumph Street Triple 765 RS What are our final thoughts as we send the bike back to Triumph HQ

Some of the roads near me look like they have been ploughed. They feel dangerous, why are our roads so bad.

I've bought the RS in September and done close to 2K now. The suspension can be adjusted and the manual that comes with the bike is very easy to follow so that you can adjust it to your riding style. The dash can be forced into daytime or night-time which is what I've done. The tires are great in the dry but I'm also changing them for Michelin Road 6's soon. I'm fitting it with a Givi rear rack for a quick tour up the Alps next summer. Also fitted heated grips and cruise control which are Triumph extras and work great. It can be ridden slow and it is definitely fast when you want it to. My only gripe is that the rear is quite short so water from the road does end up on your back. I'm hoping that when I fit the rear rack this issue would be addressed as a by product.

You can definitely set it to a permanent dark mode; it comes defaulted to auto. I might have missed it but, if that's yours, you definitely made the right choice going with an RS. I do like the tachometer better on the R, but you can't opt for the cruise control unless you get the RS. Plus, you get all the other fantastic accoutrements with this top-notch model. Enjoyed your comments on the RS. Having ridden both back to back I opted for the R last June. More affordable, suspension better suited to UK’s shocking roads and effective road tyres. Engine and Quick shifter are superb it looks great in the silver. The simpler dash is all that’s needed and my preference for it reinforced my decision for the R. overall a fantastic bike but she’s not coming out again until the salt has gone. All the best.

I own a street triple RS there is 3 mods for the dash day time white night time black or auto mode I tour on mine and i find it comfortable on long rides I had the suspension professionally set up to my weight I did think the same as you about the tyres but I have had no problems with them so I will be putting the same back when these are worn out l have road mine in heavy rain and never had problem

l have owned a 675R since 2014. l agree about the tyres My bike was fitted with the Diablo Corsa, l swopped them out mainly because they wore out so fast, l now use diablo Rossa lll. l also had my suspension set up by a local Racing specialist ….for road use. The Triumph Street Triple family are superb road bikes, light, nimble and sure footed…but you’re right they shine best on smooth asphalt. Fortunately l live in Spain and do enjoy such roads…….Sorry..

I have an 2023 R in Grey with loads of extras and I also have a 73 plate aragon 900 rally. Love them both but the Tiger suits my needs better now can't justify keeping both so will be putting the 765 up for sale shortly with only 700 miles on it

Yes I think the styling on older model was better too. Tank a little bigger also. Just this cosmic yellow so does it for me

I have set my suspension on comfort settings. I did the same on the 675r that I owned previously, and it improves comfort on the road without a huge sacrifice to handling. Regarding the rev counter, I agree it's not good and the most hated thing about the bike. I use mine in tacho mode all the time, which I find to be better.

You can set the dash to dark only and i will be doing that with mine having watched a video on the dash settings. I wanted tge RS for the colour and the bling but I do only want it as a dry weather toy I have the Fz1 dor anything else, however when they are done I will change the tyres. I may also get the suspension set for me too.

Test rode the 900 rally pro on friday and enjoyed it immensely. My 765RS was returned yesterday with 850 miles on it . I wanted to love it but it is just too sporty for me . The suspension will not soften off and for me was like a jackhammer . I owned a street triple a long time ago , but it has morphed into an uncomfortable road bike . I am testing the gt pro next week to finalise my choice . Only 10% of Triumphs manufactured are sold in this country . I ride the same roads as yourself and comfort is my main priority these days 👍

Nice 👌 I think the new Tiger is awesome 🙌 I love top suspension but with motorcycle manufacturers would understand that our roads are crap and need some comfort in the suspension. Note to all manufacturers- stop making bikes track focussed as 99% of time they are ridden on the road.

Good video and fair points - I’m going to experiment with suspension settings on my Speed Triple once the weather picks up. Turkey in July….be a hot one!

Yes agree, most non electronic bikes I’ve had them set up by a professional and made a huge difference. Yes will be warm but after this winter I’m looking forward to it 😂👍

I had a speed triple and got it set up for me and I remember he added a lot more preload to the front . The Triumph settings were way off . I am 80kg sans clothing . TW suspension at Preston knows what he's doing , looks him up .

Good honest review there Nick. I was scrubbing my new rubber in yesterday and it really aspires confidence having them on now. I leave my dash locked in the dark mode as that flickering annoyed the tits off me. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Super Meteor. Hope all’s well!

I agree in regards to bikes getting smaller. I'm only 5'11 and many bike I tested before I bought the Tiger Rally just looked and felt too small especially Honda and Yamaha.

not my cup of tea, the dash annoy me so much, the only thing I like is the Triumph sound which is fantastic, I had the Street Triple 675 and it was better than this model back in 2012 even tho no toys, and you are spot on about the roads, were does our Road Fund money go ?

😂 must go into someone’s pockets Dave as I don’t see road repairs anywhere atm. More councils going bankrupt and uk is a crazy place. Actually even see huge potholes on the M6 atm how dangerous with cars and bikes moving at speed.

I'm 100% positive that you can 'soften' the ride on the RS to make the riding much more comfortable! I, too, love the color & because it is the perfect bike - I'd invest in a personally tuned set-up. Dave Moss, or a local guru will fix that in a very few minutes. I'm too many bikes deep to consider the investment of buying it this year...
