Greetings from germany; had a similar issue on my MT10 SP. Engine was spinning and tries to start, then it died. Also there was the yellow SCU warning symbol. I charged the battery and the charger doesn't show a problem. My mechanic checked it and found a dead cell inside the battery. So this is how I understand it: engine was spinning, but the spark plugs didn't get enough energy. I tried to start about eight times (tried it 3 days to figure it out). The spark plugs were ruined due to the gas and had to be replaced. If you experience the same: bring the battery to the dealer first - they have specialized diagnosis tools.

Glad you're OK. Nice bike, luckily the damage wasn't too bad and lucky you didn't tumble the wrong way over the side of the hill! As a Cumbrian, a bit of advice for anyone thinking of coming up in the winter. Bear in mind altitude which will affect temperatures, and the fact that the sun is low all day so some roads don't even get any sun because they're behind a hill, so the ice never melts. Also, valleys can funnel wind, increasing any wind chill and creating colder areas and retaining any ice. And lastly, the roads are narrow and there's not much room to avoid anything or take a 'convenient' fall! I've just bought a BMW GS so I'll soon find out if I can handle it on these roads as I'm a shorta**e! 😂 Take care, all but enjoy your ride 👍🏻

Agree with the vast majority of your rant, except the Tiger 800. Not for me but, I am pretty sure it will do well. I think your Rally looks better Pro - I like the dash too (and use the same settings). Averaging 56mpg which is a bit better than my Rocket at 46mpg.

Doom scrolling is a very real and dangerous pastime! Its easy to get sucked into watching endless videos of the doom and gloom driven by successive governments - and I include the current crop of idiots in power who couldn't run a bath. With the increase in NI, they seem to think that all employers are big businesses with wealthy shareholders and overpaid Chief Execs. They don't seem to grasp that most businesses employing small numbers of staff will be crippled by this - plumbers, builders, shop owners, café owners, small haulage etc. It's student union politics at its immature worst. I'm trying (not very successfully at the minute) to watch less current affairs stuff. Its depressing and only designed to polarize the country - you have to be left or right wing, in favour of immigration or against it, a climate change supporter or denier, leave or remain. There is no middle ground anymore. Discussion and constructive debate is a thing of the past sadly. You can't change anything and it just makes you angry and depressed. Doesn't help that winter is on the way!! I'm off now to catch up on todays news.......Oh, b0ll0cks. No, I'm going to fit my pudding cables to my Tiger 1050!!!!

Can't go wrong with a good rant. As with many countries, we've been living beyond our means for many years and just increasing borrowing, but at some point, we need to pay it back and that means our children picking up the tab. I live 30 miles from Hinckley, and my Tiger900RP was made in Thailand. Like it or not, labour is cheaper in the Far East. Many mainstream manufacturers are utilising facilities out there to keep proffits up and costs down. It will be interesting in the coming years on how the market plays out many of these big expensive bikes are financed on PCP and to a degree rely on a second hand market for the retuning vehicles.

Triumph...I always saw the 850 Sport as a kinda cheap shot at cornering part of the market that didn't want the 900 yet reused much of that platform for an easy win. The 900 range is underpowered compared to its peers in my opinion and the 1050 was what people actually wanted to be continued rather than the 850. Had they done those things, an upgraded 660 sport makes sense...but as things stand I agree with you

Being of, I think, similar demographic to you, I know where you're coming from, and while I will never credit Trump with anything other than being a total sh*t, I also look at politicians generally and wonder what's going on. I've gone from being a 'plugged in' current affairs junkie, but I think it was during lockdown when I really cut right down on news programmes etc... a lot of it is fear mongering more than anything, to the benefit of one political party or another. Still, we've got bikes to keep us sane...so long as I can keep getting out on my bike, life is still very much worth living!

@vevey758 күн бұрын
Nice to see you out and about. The UK desperately needs growth which isn't going to happen. I work in the city of London and its the worst job market in 20 years layoffs everywhere. The UK is on an unsustainable fiscal trajectory due to the real growth rate of the economy, which should exceed the real interest rate and with debt to GDP over 100% this really matters. A larger deficit will overshoot the government predictions (OBR has confirmed) and in the coming years, this is going put inflationary pressure and will result in higher interest rates. Don't get me started on the green taxes and net zero commitments from the UK. UK has the highest energy prices of all G10 economies and commercial electricity prices are 4 to 5 times the level in France, so no wonder the UK cannot manufacture at scale. I was hoping the government would reduce corporation tax and increase the personal allowance with no more tax rises!!!!!

I couldn't agree more, Nick. I'm in Canada and we've got some very serious issues here too, many of which are directly caused by our government. I avoid watching/listening to the news. I find I'm much happier. Sometimes, ignorance truly is bliss. I've got many more years behind me than I do ahead of me, so in my twilight years, happiness is #1 for me. I couldn't agree with you more about the TFT on the Tiger. So many people complain about the lack of info on the home screen. For me, less is more. Why on Earth does anyone need to look at an odometer all day? It's like watching grass grow. 🤦♂️ I've ridden several other bikes with TFT screens and I find them far too busy and distracting. Being able to customize the screen is brilliant. The Tiger is a fantastic bike and I believe it is overlooked by many. Many times I hear KZbinrs list off examples of big adventure bikes, it's almost always BMW, KTM and to a lesser extent, the Honda Africa Twin. Rarely do I hear Triumph mentioned, or even Ducati, for that matter. Ride on and live life, Nick. Cheers. 🍻

I don't agree on the Tiger 800. I think it's great that manufacturers are thinking about price. If they don't, there is going to be a Chinese/india takeover. Yes, some premium features are lost, but I would suggest there will be fewer and fewer people out there with 20K + to splash on a new bike. (Especially if our government keeps taxing us to death)
@MOTOUK18 күн бұрын
Thanks Richard, we don’t have to agree and always great to hear what people think! I’m concerned for the 900 tiger as the 800 Sport engine has more horses, so just wondering where their development is going.

I'm with you 100% with the government mess we're in, we need a massive change., the UK just dosent work anymore 😢 As you know I like the VOGE brand, and I have ridden the BMW f900 and that also has the Chinese engine.... But it really feels like a Chinese engine. I like BMWs alot but they are not as reliable as people think. The new 1300 has had lots of issues which shouldn't happen with a 20k bike. VOGE for me if they get their ducks in a line could be really good.... But the fact is getting their ducks in a line is e where many Chinese brands fall down. I got some grief for having a pop at CF moto, but the facts and what I was talking about is coming into light and people are seeing my points in reality. Good to see another MUK vid. Hope all is well with you and yours. Steve👍
