Hello, what are your thoughts on the brakes? One finger bity brakes? I have the 2014 R model and the brakes are quite rubbish.. brake fluid has been changed many times even with diagnostics to bleed ABS, new brake pads, different wheel with different rotors (from other STR), pistons in calipers are clean and moving freely. I have to put quite big pressure to feel some braking performance and I do feel some stopping power only from braking at 120+ km/h.. when I´m braking like at 50 km/h at town, I´m not sure I can stop. Brake pads are red Brembos (SA compound)..

Awesome video, Steve! I also own a Street Triple R 2010 m.y., and I would like to ask you what a re the torque values needed for changing the pads, both front and rear. Unfortunately, on the user manual I own there's no trace of the torque values regarding the brakes, and on the internet I found conflicting values.

Thank you mate, glad you enjoyed the vid, front mounting bolts are 28Nm the pin is 18Nm, the rear mounting bolts are front bolt 27Nm and rear bolt 22Nm and retaking pin is 18Nm, hope that helps, any questions then let me know 👍

@@stevesixtysix7630 Thank you for your help, Steve; it was very useful! Unfortunately, the rear bolt of the rear caliper was broken (22 Nm) due to the torque wrench that did not click, although it was calibrated to the correct value. Fortunately, I managed to pull out the broken part, but in anger I threw it somewhere. Could you tell me the features of this bolt? I only know that it has a 5/16 Whitworth thread, the hexagonal head has the size 12 and the washer 16, but I'm not sure about the total length. Unfortunately, here in Italy no hardware store has Whitworth, and I'm thinking of asking the Triumph dealership if they can find it. Thanks in advice!

Where did you get the toque spec? I couldn't find a service manual but read elsewhere online it's 35nm for the large bolts and 18nm for the smaller pin.

Hi, I got the spec straight from the workshop manual.....thank you for watching

hello steve is it normal for the front brake discs of this motorcycle to move? I explain myself when moving the disc has a sound, look on KZbin and call them floating full brake discs, but on motorcycles like the GSR750 or the R6 of friends, their floating discs have no movement

What size rotor is that 308 mm?
@stevesixtysix76305 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes that are 308mm, they are the standard disks that come with the bike........Thank you for watching and subscribing.

@@stevesixtysix7630 absolutely, your videos are perfect with someone with a street triple... I have the standard version (not R) but I think the front rotor is the same, do you know?
@stevesixtysix76305 жыл бұрын
skatEng89 I believe they are the same, the callipers are different, one pot opposed to two pot on the R version 👍

Your tourgue spec “caliper to fork” is WRONG. 21 NM is valid for Street Triple with axial brake caliper (non R models). R models with radial brakes should be 55NM. See here: www.street-triple.co.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=27453.0;attach=22317;image
