The camera work and setting out is excellent. The tools and components are set out as part of the story. Each shot, sequence and task is filmed and edited in such a way to give the viewer a really good idea of what has just happened. The bike’s pretty good as well.

I’ve been watch this transformation and have to say your workmanship and attention to detail is second to none, as a time served engineer is a pleasure to watch a true professional at work. The bike looks fantastic and a real credit to you, out of interest what rise do you have on the handlebars as they look far better than the originals and suit the bike so well, she’s a beauty.👍👏👏
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, thank you for those kind words, coming from you that is high praise indeed, I'm certainly no engineer, just a basic mechanic with a passion... and if I can do it, then anyone can, for me it's just about taking the time to forget the results and focus on the process, bringing it home in the best way you can, and then it naturally comes out right all by itself... the bars are about 3" rise, but the point is they are flatter with less pull back, so it's a lovely, slightly lent forward position... they are a fat bar conversion, so you need the 28mm clamps too, but here's a link to the choices available... universal, but you can pick what you need and way cheaper than posh brands like Renthal... www.tecbikeparts.com/products/shop-parts/other-bikes-universal/handlebars-handlebar-levers-other-bikes-universal/

I recently finished fixing my America from a t bone accident I was in (I was t boned) and I replaced all bolts and screws with stainless and with allen heads and for light duty hidden screws I used phillips! now I dont have to worry about finding the proper size torx or security bit and they wont ever corrode on me either! I also cut down 70% of the wiring loom and removed the airbox. I can completely disassemble the bike in under an hour with it like this. this is now one easy bike to work on! plus I have learned a lot. I am looking for a second bike now. maybe a classic Harley or a classic Triumph. I would like a 90s Triumph dual sport to tinker with and go on trips

The problem an outstanding job like this one is that it becomes more and more unthinkable to fix a numberplate ...

Thanks mate, that was actually Penny's idea and her hands in the blast booth, she's a dab hand with the media blasting!

Bloody brilliant job Del. I love the colour and the fuel cap is the icing on the cake. Looking forward to seeing the seat and tank pads go on. Penny and you have a good week and glad your getting some sunshine. Cheers

Thank you mate, still waiting for the upholstery, so tomorrow's video will be taking care of some other work still outstanding, all good to get it knocked off the list, and the upholstery should be well worth waiting for! Have a safe week there and ride safe too!

Del that looks bloody amazing mate The colour just pops and I love the way you took the glossy reflective shine of the new filler cap. Very very smart and clean. I reckon Triumph will be giving you a call seeking your advice on future retro mods to other models. Looking forward to the finished bike and shake down ride. Nick Australia

Thank you so much Nick 😀, thanks for your kind words mate, I think all of the factories out there for every brand you can think of have always crated their accessory range by cribbing the custom bike world... even to the point of buying out companies like Vance & Hines so they own them and can call them theirs!... but I always see that as an honour rather than a cheek, I've had professional custom bike builders crib the things I've done and sell them as product and that is a great compliment... really appreciate your kind support mate, have a great week.

Hi Del a true professional job mate so far. Paint work looks outstanding hope the seat is up to the same standard. I have really enjoyed this journey with you and Penny

Thanks Dean 👍, we've handed the upholstery to a very talented chap, who is making side pads for the tank as well, so hoping it will all hang together just fine! Good to hear you've enjoyed, we've loved every second.

Thank you Tom for your kind words, have to admit that I agree with you, my favourite part of the bike is the header pipe set, it was my first attempt at hand building headers and am really happy with how they look... not much to do now and I'll get a chance to get the bike out on the road and see how it rides! We both appreciate your kind support, D&Px
