Loving watching the build in the new 'shop, great quality work as always and that paint is beautiful, especially the dark sections. However, there is one bit that gives me a bit of a "hmmm, not sure", and that's the big gap between the rear wheel and the mudguard. The front of the bike is all squat, chunky, close fitting and then the back has that big gap as a result of raising everything. Raising it was the right thing to do, that livens up the whole stance, just not sure on the gap. But hey, not my bike, and I ain't the one riding it ;-)

Now, I'm personally struggling with my own LED conversion on my 2000 Legend TT & any insight you might have would be appreciated. I'd like to keep the original lights so I bought a EP 35 LED Flasher and 4 Sylvania LED 1156 socket bulbs. I can get 3 turn signal lights going with this setup, but not the front left signal. Although it will run the stock incandescent bulb with the other 3 signals running LED bulbs. So that's where I'm running it right now and I'm stumped where to go from here.

Happy you didn't use the resistors in the opening shots. I've always seen them as a bodge
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
They have only, seemingly become 'a bodge' since the advent of Chinese LED resistors, before that they were the primary answer to the problem, and they're still the only response to a Harley Davidson with LED's because they don't have flasher relays, the Harley turn signal module is ferociously expensive to replace, and with the later bikes it's even part of the ECU, so resistors are still the answer in many cases, and if correctly fitted, they're absolutely fine mate!
@davejc13 жыл бұрын
@@Moonfleet41 oh I know when fitted correctedly they are fine, but it's always a neater solution (when possible) to fit an led flasher unit. By "bodge" I meant people taking the time and effort to fit a resistor to each corner, when the led flasher unit is available and (in my opinion) neater. Like what you did. 😀
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
@@davejc1 Oh yeah, it unnecessary clutter for sure. but just in case you ever have no choice, you don't need one at each corner, just one per side, and you can place them under the seat close to the fuse box or factory relay, and actually make them pretty much invisible as long as they have some air round them to cool them down. On the Dyna i tucked them up under the back light mount in an empty space behind the light.! have a great weekend mate, and keep safe. D&Pxx

Been watching your ace video from the start. Blown away with your hard work on how the bike is now. Can I ask a simple question? I have the 95 t bird. What is the best / practical plug spanner I should buy? Thanks Del. Look forward to the next installment.

Hi Stu, thanks for kind support, I think Triumph actually make a compatible plug socket for these motors, i use an old tool kit one, the old style tool kits they used to supply with the bike, so i imagine they are available from the dealer if you just ordered one..!

@@Moonfleet41 Thanks Del, will get on it. Was thinking magnetic, thin wall, long reach and to be honest prob overthinking it. Brickies with spanners ey. Keep up the great work!

@@stumac5820 Seriously mate, plugs are pretty generic, any old style motorcycle tool kit, (the kit they tucked under the seat) will have a plug spanner... pressed tube with a rubber gripper ring in it.. they work a treat and cost pennies mate. the Suzuki Bandit ones were awesome as they had a flexible one with a hinge in the middle..! must be loads of them on ebay.!

@@Moonfleet41 been on to triumph World and got the spanner, and an exhaust joint cover while I was there lol. No tools under the seat for my new to me triumph. But I'll get there. She's been laid up 6 years. Before that a full tlc service history so few bits to look at.

That's the badger! 👍😅 What becomes of the chips from the lathe 🤔 do they get recycled or isn't it really worth it sorting the different metals somehow and that. Great stuff as ever. 🙂🍻

Stainless steel swarf isn't worth anything mate, same as the aluminium, i only salvage and keep the brass dust as it has potential for creative projects on the future..!
