I so much enjoy these episodes with no music. The honest, simple sound of purposeful tool wielding and clinking metal parts is truly a soul soothing change of pace from the never ending constant bombardment of the ears. Music can add to things, sure, but not every single second of day and night! Wonderful video as usual!

Thank you my friend, we're glad you enjoy it, opinions on music vary, so we do use it sometimes but generally not these days, and it is getting more difficult to find meaningful royalty free music that's actually appropriate... thank you for your kind feedback, it keeps us motivated!

Nice work, as usual. As a former owner of a Trophy 900 of similar vintage I should warn you of real fun and games ahead if you tackle the carbs. Not so much the carbs themselves, but the removal and reinstalling of them. It is very tight, made worse by the spine frame and airbox design. The rubber inlet tubes are a b’stard to fit too. Good luck!

Very nice. That being said, I always wonder how long this spray can paintjob will ultimately last ....versus a professional powder coat job ? Please don't take that as a personal attack, I don't want to diminish your work Del, but on my bike the difference between repainted parts versus original paint work is not even in the same league.
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 жыл бұрын
People always down the "spray can paint job"... like the can itself is inferior.! 99% of any coating, paint, powder or even stove enamel is in the preparation of the parts, and execution of the coating process... a perfectly prepared and well executed "spray can paintjob" will last many years, and a badly executed powdercoat job will flake off in no time mate..! Same as the word "professional".. just because someone does a job and get's paid for it, doesn't make them caring or automatically competent.!

@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 жыл бұрын
Certainly Sir, here you go, it is a little pricey, and some people find it a bit of a shock, but it seriously money well spent, because it's a German Wiha tool, extremely accurate, seriously heavy as well and made to an incredibly high standard, and it's a tool that will mean you never mince an engine casing screw again!... The most likely torque wrenches to become inaccurate are low rated ones under 20Nm, they get stiff and way out of spec very quickly, so the click type are never that reliable, as you can see from the operation of this, it's a 'cam over type' and pretty foolproof.. I personally run engine screws in to aluminium casings at never more than 10Nm, this tool makes sure that not only do you never over do it, but they're all perfectly consistent for better gasket sealing on the bigger casings, like the clutch... link here buddy...... take a look! www.spanner-monkey.co.uk/Wiha-Torque-T-Handle-ST-Plus-TorqueVario-Set-29234?search=wiha%20torque%20vario&description=true

Looks the tits after some new paint. Makes my FZ6 block look awful now. The previous owner attacked it with a rattle can that was no where near the same shade. And that is just the left side. The front looks horrendous. That will be next winters job I think.

Great video, Del. I will not make the mistake of crediting your top notch production to good audio and video equipment, because good equipment is only a piece of the equation. You have to know how to use it and how to edit the results. You and Penny clearly do, and combined with your excellent presentations the results are excellent. Thanks for all you do... you make Tuesdays and Fridays all the better. :)

Thank you so much John, that is so kind of you mate, we only use basic equipment, just a camcorder and a stand alone lavaliere mic for the speaking bits, but the rest of the sound is all on the camcorder, and like you say, most of it's in the editing, which takes longer than shooting the footage these days! It's great to hear that it's appreciated, and thank you for your kind feedback, have a great weekend, keep safe and well there, all the very best, D&Px

Another great video during the lock down. Look forward to all these vids, caught up with some older vids too. The clutch vid from many moons ago came in handy, fitted new clutch to my yzf, including new springs, chose geko jobbies from wemoto, new gasket, jobs a good un. Thanks, Vinny.

@@Moonfleet41 sadly not had chance to test it, lock down seen to that, need to mot it but it not locked up now due to worn clutch and not getting used for a few years, full engine service including fresh coolant flush and brake and clutch fluid. Fresh fuel. Can't wait to ride it, hopefully in the summer. :-)

Great video del fantastic job one question what make is the T handle you were using thanks stay safe looking forward to next one🇬🇧👍
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 жыл бұрын
The T-handle is by Wiha mate, it's actually a torque wrench rated from 5-14Nm, extremely accurate and perfect for the little M6 screws that hold engine casings in to soft aluminium threads... www.spanner-monkey.co.uk/Wiha-Torque-T-Handle-ST-Plus-TorqueVario-Set-29234?search=wiha%20torque%20vario&description=true
