Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro Review

One of the best vids on this bike I’ve seen, I bought the GTExplorer. it’s a super bike I preferred the look of the rally and the gsa but I preferred dynamics of the GT.

Not only the wheel, but also the frame is different to the Rally…… I chose the GT Pro because I felt (like you said) it’s more of a road riders bike, a little bit more nimble, that’s also why I didn’t go with the slightly more top heavy Explorer version. Spot on about wind protection - remedied with a WRS screen, and Puig replacement side wind deflectors, I added in a heated seat and bonus - no spokes to come lose or clean!

Hi Si, great video. I am a 5'6 shorty with 29" leg and I absolutely love my 1200 gt pro especially the home button that lowers the seat if required. I can flat foot (i also have the low seat) and in my opinion wee people can ride big bikes. 900 is too scrambler like and the 1200 does have vibration, but the noise is worth it. Best well kept secret Gs beater. Keep up the good work.

I have the 1200 GT pro, absolutely superb bike. Great video as well by the way 👍🏼 I quite often watch videos with the subtitles on and had a good laugh at the auto translate of your Scottish accent 😂😂 belta!

@@simotofoto Aye, no Rockets available but the bigger bike with the toys compared to mine will be interesting as I say. Likely comfier for Cait but for me as a pensioner even at 6 ft I run my 900 in the low 820 mm seat height. Having dropped mine on that hairpin up to the mast, a higher seat height and more weight would likely deter me from getting a bigger bike. Not as strong as you youngsters ya know!

Any thoughts about the difference between this and the v-strom 1050? I am in the middle of purchasing this or the tiger. I dont mind the difference in power. I am driving the bike with 2 persons and lugage. What I am most interested in is comfort and wind protection.

V strom is a very good bike ( had my strom 21 years 2003 ) ; I now have a 2023 trtriumph tiger rally pro 1200 great bike too. neither bike is good for 2 up... get a gold wing for 2 up touring

The issue I have with the Triumph tigers 900 is the welding on the frames, very rough. Not sure if the 1200 is the same.

I think they’ll be Tourance Next Si like the ones on my 900 GT Pro, rather than the earlier Tourance. There’s a later Tourance Next 2 now available. I didn’t like my Tourance Next as they tramlined and as you maybe know I switched to Dunlop Mutants which track much better and simply flow. They also are a true all season tyre, plus some off-road ability. To my mind a perfect tyre for the UK and particularly Scottish backroads! On my last bike I had Michelin Road 5 (6 wasn’t available) and I found them a great tyre but not as good for my kind of riding on the Tiger as the Mutants.

Nice bike..between the GS and KTM SAS, after much testing I went for the KTM. probably, maybe I would of gone for this. But having a 1050 speed triple RS, I went for the KTM. very chuffed.

Taken delivery of the my tiger rally pro end of the month. A far superior ride and handing to my KTM790R. We’ll not talk about how bad the corrosion is on the KTM. Fingers cross on the Triump. Both these bike have 21 inch front and I don’t see what the issue is. Have fun.
