I bought a 2021 Tiger 850 Sport and added 11 accessories…lol. It’s now an 899.5 Sport and love it. Thanks for the review!!

Awesome, I must say its such a great ride. I have been riding Adventure bikes for a long time and being a current Street Triple owner this bike just felt such fun to ride and it sounds awesome even with the stock exhaust. Enjoy the bike and did you go for any add ons from the catalog?

Awesome no problem. The only reason I went with the GT Pro was they gave me a super good deal to clear a batch of bikes, I would have gone for the Sport all day long. Just for the UK I would add on the hand guards if they dont come with any and heated grips for the winter months. Otherwise its an awesome bike for that price.

@@Andre-Mostert I was coming off a 2007 Daytona 675 for 14 years so I understand your comparison to the Speed Triple. Completely different style of ride but fantastic nonetheless. Shifts perfect and that deep growl on deceleration is unbeatable. Doesn't even need an aftermarket exhaust.

That Daytona is a good looking machine and it sounds awesome too. But yes as you say not need for a aftermarket can at all. Super happy with the sound and ride. I would like to go and test ride this new Tiger 660 sport some or other time too. Keep well.

Hi, I think this is the best review about this bike (I think I've seen almost all of them). I loved it. You show it simple, from riders point, and you didnt go deep into construction details. I haven't opportunity to ride it (I had opportunity to sit on it only) but the opinions are so good that I decided to buy one. I have to wait 2 months for delivery and I hope this blind decision was good. Thanks mate!

Wow this is awesome feedback. Yes I have also watched allot of the videos about bikes before I buy they and they all cover the same. So much so that its just a spec sheet that put into words. I really try to let people know how it makes me feel. But man this is a nice bike. I really enjoyed the time on this one. Easy to ride, looks good, enough power for allot of fun and it has all the protection needed when the weather gets bad. Enjoy and please let me know when you get the bike and how you get on.

@@Andre-Mostert Thanks for your response and all your work. You showed me how every day ride will look like and I could feel like im ride this bike. I can read so I know what specs sheet says but there is a lot of great motorcycles with great numbers but in real life they have some issues that makes them uncomfortable or unfriendly for users. My first motorcycle was Kawasaki Versys 650 2015(and I think this is nice, friendly bike but too simple and focused on the road only). I decided to buy bike which is easy to ride every day and also allows me to ride some ground and gravel roads. I only hope some day triumph will hear users opinion and give some update for display (for better readability). I also ordered adds like heated grips, hand protectors and engine protectors. Im thinking about quickshifter and central stand. Have a nice day!

Awesome and its great that I could have helped. Yes for me in the winter months the heated grips is a winner. If you step up to the 900GT then you get the big TFT screen but I think its not really needed. The screen is good on this one and as you get use to the bike you start using it less and less. Have a good weekend.

Thanks Andre, I think this could be a good and relatively inexpensive tourer/sports. I have seen one with the bags and top box fitted and it looks really great.

This is such an easy bike to ride and most of the people would find it easy to handle. I understand the bigger guys would like more power and torque but for the mid to light riders its a well rounded package. You can also just add on all the bit you need. Good solid base bike and then customise as you like.

Thanks for the review. Ironically I’m thinking of trading in my Street Triple for this Tiger 850 Sport. I’m looking for something that will absorb the bumpy B roads a bit better. I think it’s best I go and test ride one first. I hope I don’t regret the swap.
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 3 жыл бұрын
Leigh this is what is also in the back of my mind. As I have come from the adventure bikes I always want to go back its like muscle memory. The only reason I did not make the jump yet is my pcp deal is not ready to make the swap. Its not as punchy as the Street Triple R but if you want to get around and explore in any weather then its a damn good ride. I never really adjust the suspension and I personally would go for hand guard and heated grips and maybe a top box to daily use. The bike ride and sounds awesome. I love my Street Triple R but if you want to get off the fast roads and really explore I think you cannot go wrong. Let me know when you managed to go for a test ride. Thanks for watching and the comment.

One more thing I saw the suspension a tiny bit on this bike and it looks like a progressive/ non linear shock I think it is, like the S-20 has added which is so good to hear, can take heavy and soft bumps with the tight and loose coil together but it’s amazing seeing this new tech come out in these bikes and even EUC’s now is amazing, beautiful ride that’s a beast of a bike!
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 3 жыл бұрын
That is spot on. So most of the MTB bikes run the air shocks and when you look at the downhill bikes they go coil over for the shock so it can handle harder impact and also bigger drops. Also the bikes are heavier. The coil over is an upgrade but it can also be seen as having a different tool for riding terrain. If you going to be riding road then having a massive heavy coil over shock is a bit of an overkill. If I have to compare. The trail MTB bikes are like the S18 and the downhill or freeride MTB's are like the S20. Gives us more options. See most of the guys that do jumps dont use the EUC's with the shocks as its just not predictable when jumping. Where the solid wheels are. Just an example.

@@Andre-Mostert Dang all that is getting me excited to get my hands and test this type of suspension. Thanks for that info! That’s cool such a unique form of rebound is being explored in other devices as well.. I’m excited to learn more when the time comes! Really appreciate it man!

Awesome and thank you for the feedback. Its a great bike and I would have taken one in an instance but they could not do a deal for me. I went to SportBike and they offered me the 900GT Pro that was the last one and a demo model so I went with that one. I would have taken the 850 Sport as a first go. Keep well and happy hunting.

I enjoyed this ride review, thanks! I don't think you can go wrong with the 850 Sport. It really is all the bike you need, especially if you have/need one bike to do it all. The punchy 888 cc engine is great for real world riding, the same with the seating comfort. The only disadvantage: where I live the 850 sport costs €13.300. I think that is still a premium price for this bike, the 900GT is 'just' €2.000 more expensive. In the UK bikes tend to be cheaper then in the Netherlands, but at least we can get fuel at our gas stations ;-)

haha that last comment is so true. Have bike cannot ride. But this is so true, I was always under the impression that you need to have the big bikes to have fun but the mid range bikes have so much to give now that it makes it for me at least hard to look at the more expensive bikes. Also for me its lighter and I can move it around more. Its never great when you need to get off a bike to push it around. Very weird that your prices are higher I would have expected it to be very much the same. But such a great ride, easy, fun and enough protection for the UK weather. Thanks for watching

That is just great. Grats on getting that A2 license. Its never to old to learn a new skill and to enjoy riding a motorbike. I got the Tiger 900 as I could not get a 850 anywhere in the UK and they managed to give me a good deal on the 900. But if they did not I would have gone for the Tiger 850. For me the 850 and how its geared is just perfect for an everyday get up and go bike. It sounds good and rides great. I would like to hear your feedback when you managed to get a test ride. Keep well and thank you for the feedback.

@@Andre-Mostert hi I'm exactly in your situation I have a Triumph street triple RS (I love it) I would like to try an adventure bike too. Can you tell me why did you decide to buy one of these bikes? And how is it after a Street triple? What is your experiences between these two different platforms? Thank you. Have a great day!

Sorry I missed this comment. I have been into adv bikes for such a long time so I tend to move back to them if I go to a street type bike. I like the upright riding position the weather protection and the ease of using them for me a winner. I just like riding and getting out and this is fast enough for me on the UK roads. Oh and I can jump on this and ride down to Germany if I need too without much thinking.

I am going to have to go with both. I think if the rules here in the UK was open and I can ride my EUC anywhere then it would be a different story. I would lean to the big comfortable wheels with loads of range. But the bike allows me to get out and explore on the weekends and that is great.

How about the engine heat? Doesn’t it bother your legs during rides? I mean town rides where you only use low speed.
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
For here in the UK not had any trouble with that. They have two rather large fan units behind the radiators that would also help keep the heat away. But I have not noticed heat around my legs at all. This might be totally different in the summer months. The only bike I had that would really keep you warm was the GS boxer engine. Hope that helps and thank you for the comment and question.

I can't see how that model is any better than the 2019 XRX 800, no hand guards, no cruise control as standard, what's the improvement?
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Les and thanks for the comment. As far I understand the engine is new so it gives you more a feeling of a twin with the sound of a triple. Its also been made even smoother and the new emission regulations was updated. I have not ridden the 800 but from what I have heard and from the guy across the road that has one is that the new engine just more refined and more throttle control at lower speeds for more offroad work. But then again I dont see allot of people here in the UK that is going to plough through the mud on a fairly expensive motorbike. The 850 was a really nice ride and I would have bought one if I did not get a good deal on a 900 GT.
@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui
@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui 2 жыл бұрын
It’s loads better for me, I had the 800 XRT and whilst it’s very smooth I found it anodyne and the bike felt top heavy. My new 850 sport is more characterful and grunty, it feels faster and lighter. I can get both feet flat on the ground, couldn’t on the 800. Lack of cruise control doesn’t bother me, heated grips were about £180 and I fitted Enfield Himmy handguards £34 of eBay (they really look the business) sorted! Great engine, super handling, best brakes in the business and super comfortable, everything I want/need in a bike.
