Thanks very much for taking us through it step by step and thanks to Eugene for coming on and showing us his workshop👏👏 It really makes me think how they did these things in the factory. Of course they would have had dedicated jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment. Great video, well done and good luck from Spain!!

In 1991 I completely restored a ´65 MGB which I imported from Texas. It was easy to work on like our TR´s today but the total difference to the Midget is … tatata SPACE. Good luck for the beauty Midget .

Much regards for your patience and perseverance, but the team who designed a mechanism like this was obviously a committee. Outrageously complicated for so simple a task. The basic mechanical mechanism is OK, but the interaction between the bearings and the shims is beyond belief.

I live in South Africa and there is an Hungarian lady in our church. On Sunday she sang one of the songs in Hungarian and we followed with singing it in English and Afrikaans (my home language).

So nice to see your true mechanical build. I've done this kind of build up in the past on industrial gearboxes and have used a Machinests Blue lay out spray. It sets up faster than spray paint and you can see the silver shine through on your contact clash points. You can also get it in a tube as a brush on. Great work.

Elin, thanks for taking us all along for this rebuild; great work! I've got to go back and review the previous segments to see if you discussed what took you down this 'rabbit hole' in the first place. Did the owner just request this specific rebuild, or did you discover various telltales (rear end noise or visible internal wear) that dictated that this work be done? On my '67 GT6, I'm wondering how deep I have to go to determine the differential must be rebuilt; what process would you use to determine the condition of the rear end in situ?

The owner was hearing clanking noises and described a very interesting situation when he was turning one axle shaft 90 degrees back and forth without affecting the other axle shaft or the pinion. I never found anything that suggests that this was possible though, but while I was inside I found that some of the bearings had developed some pits and had to replace them.
