Bonnet bulge is because they didnt change the subframe, the v8 from factory had a different subframe.

Good buy for the age. Agree the blue is awful. The bulge on the bonnet may have been due to a different installed carb set up being higher hence the need to replace the bonnet locking set up. I didn't see in the video if the bonnet latching spring is still there, I doubt it. We've had no snow down here, in fact it's quite tropical in comparison!

It’s a nice car, looks like it just needs a bunch of tidying up. The interior certainly needs work!

Nice car, the redline should be at 5500rpm. I need to paint the rev counter in my tr7v8 too believe there is a guide on how to do it on google👍

Hi Chris, I was also looking at that one its from Robsport (Numpty9) right. The painted bright blue interior put me off a bit but the price was good and like you say put it back to standard. Body work looks solid and when I looked at the ad the underneath looked good too. Nice project and not too much to make nice, perhaps some improvement on the bonnet bulge might help, altogether could make a very nice motor, great buy.👍👍

Ian, I agree. The toilet seat on the Bonnet will be removed and a standard TR7 Bonnet will be installed. Going to change the SUs for an Offy manifold with a Holley. All the Blue is going. Cheers for your comments. Very kind. You take care. Chris Robinson

I have soft spot for these cars having watched my dad build a few back in the day for various people. The ones he did were badged TR8 to match the official export models that went to the States. This example looks pretty good considering its age and really hope you can bring it back to the condition it deserves.

Looks good Chris, needs a little TLC but that's not bad, your right about the blue interior though its a bit much. It could be a very nice car, it appears to have good structure, I hope its underside is as good, I feel we need to save these cars, they are under appreciated in my opinion. Summer will be along soon, maybe you could do a running restoration on this one! Thanks for posting.
