Nicely done! Most bikes today including this one lack serious front and rear mud guards. I understand styling decisions and a lot if not most riders take off decent rear mud guards for tail tidys except me. I hope you get some Triumphs to ride there is a lot to like about them.

Think it's a great bike, Carol's owned two 675 Street Triples and those Triple motors are lovely. Think the lower output of the Trident is an ideal first big bike. It's well made, well equipped. My biggest dislike is the rear end, looks like it would absolutely cover you in road filth from the rear tyre when riding wet roads.

Totally agree, style over being practical with all brands these days isnt it. Shame really but easily sorted I guess with some after market stuff. I hear you were both in Devon not so long ago. Hope you had a good time while you were here. Thanks

17kg lighter than the new Tiger 660. That trident is nice and light at 189kg. Bit more protection on the Tiger though. Bridge could find you a Street Twin to try if they thought you were a serious buyer, but they are not great at encouraging demos. You were lucky this time. I sympathise, i like the twins.

Nice video 👍. Well, after 3yrs with my excellent St-twin, I,ve bit the bullet and traded said twin for the trident. The first sensation, is of course lack of weight, flick ability and the thrash me character of the trident. It doesn't have all metal solidity of the twin and a cross wind on the motorway is more noticeable. It feels like a toy in comparison. And pushing it around the garage, aft the twin is a doddle. Basically two v.good bikes, but with very different characters. Lost some torque trading the twin but, gained instant speed with the trident. Would liked to have both in garage, but finances would have been strained. Anyway am enjoying this light little terrier of a bike. Ride safe folks.
@exeterrider2 жыл бұрын
It really is a nice bike the Trident. I havent ridden the twin even though I really want to. But it is nice to have the low down torque for sure. It's a side step rather than a upgrade or downgrade I guess. Enjoy your bike 🏍️🍻👍

Great review considering the limited time factor, ER. I would prefer the Tiger Sport 660 purely for looks and wind protection, plus the awful number plate hanger on the Trident would be a deal breaker for me.

Good review. I passed my test 25 years ago but since then I haven't owned a proper bike. For the past three years I've had a Yamaha Aerox 155 sports scooter (I'm from Exeter but live in Thailand now) and have done 30,000 careful kilometres on it, but I want to upgrade. If you were in my situation as a mature rider wanting to return to midrange riding would you choose a CB500F or this Trident? NB both are made in Thailand where I live. I can't decide if the extra £2000 is worth it.

Really interesting video, sounds and runs very nicely! I'm not sure about the back end, I'd need a top box and panniers and on longer rides I use the back seat to sit on stretch out. Wouldn't fancy doing that there, just get more Calamity memes being sent 😂😂😂 it's interesting to see what people are considering a starter bike. For me it just has to be supremely comfortable. Having sat on one I wasn't feeling it, are there seat options? Brilliant review, really learned a lot! 😁🖖🏼

Being a new bike there are some issues cropping up now, kick stand issues, some have found their bike on its side, main one being that after around 3k mileage it can develop MAF sensor issues (oil getting to the MAF sensor) that dealers are struggling to diagnose and do ecu updates that don't fix the issue, seems to be a design flaw that requires replacement hoses and sensor but at the moment not redesigned parts so might only be temporary fix which isn't good for when the warranty runs out and might effect resale value, there are a few videos showing the issues it causes that the engine cuts out when slowing down from 4th and 3rd with low revs and clutching in to down shift and the engine cuts out, not sure how common it is yet as it's still a new bike and some are probably not doing high mileage or daily use so have got to the milage yet, lots of used tridents for sale under 3k miles 🤔

That was some good info. Thanks... I've made videos before on this subject and the way I think all brands are running befits they can walk when it comes to electronics. It's worrying when everything is going electric anyway.

very good , apart from the mudguards ;; nice colour scheme , brisk engine , i think its a hit ;; [ which means no one will buy it ] .just make sure you live next to the dealer to reset the the service and other fault lights or spend nearly 3 grand on the kit to do it yourself ;
