Beast of a machine. I always think they sound like an old Spitfire plane. Funny you mention the weight, we stopped at the old MotoCorsa cafe in Gillingham yesterday and there were two of these outside in the car park. When we were getting ready to leave, two men who were easily very late 60's, probably in their 70's, came over and got on these bikes. They wheeled them out backwards and it seemed that once you get it moving it's quite manageable. The noise when they started them up, beautiful. Nice bike, bonkers money.

FINALLY!!!! numerous interruptions but I managed to finish this. I have a soft spot for these. Long may they be produced! Fab review. Love that you really showed it off on all sorts of roads rather than just saying it was so capable. It’s a cartoon bike with that massive rad but so so good. I would really like one. Manufactures take note. This is a brilliantly executed review and you would do well to get ER to spend time with your bikes. I can’t imagine anyone else really putting it through so many places and not prioritising the peripheral stuff . Brilliant work ER . I want one.

Do miss riding in the U.K. Where I live in Connecticut now you cannot lane split or filter and you go everywhere at the same speed as the cars do. Fantastic review ER. You may have just sold it to me for 2025. I think they have really improved this beast and when you compare it to an Indian or Harley it's actually quite a bit cheaper.

I ride a 22 Tiger 900 GT Pro. I can relate to your impression of a friendly, easy, compliant ride. Triumph has it down. The triple chugs way down and rolls up with no complaint. Going 60ish, if I drop down to 4th the front end comes up a bit overtaking! I’m in Idaho and granted I’m 70 and not pushing like a 20 year old, but we did a desert ride Friday and cleared sections I never thought I would have to. Lovely ride. It does it all with grace. Just reminded me of your Rocket 3. So incredibly well rounded.

When you were showing the manoeuvring stood by the bike I nearly had a panic attack! Great review. Shows how much the bike has developed since my test ride in 2006. At the time a wet roundabout nearly got me and I went on up to Bridgwater and bought the VROD. But it was a close call.

Yes it is alot different from older models but I think people still think they ride like the older models but infact it's all so much better now.

Wider tires allow you to lean more, while being higher off the ground. Plus, if you hang off the bike in most corners, you probably never will scrape the pegs.

I have done 1100 miles in one day on the Rocket. A few aches and pains but not as bad as you would think. But get an aftermarket windshield. The other must haves are a quick shifter and for me mid pegs on my GT. Over 86.000 miles on the 2020 now. Also the Rocket is a lot cooler to ride than my Harley.

A great review on a machine for which there must be a niche market in the UK, ER. Personally I cannot see the point of such an expensive to buy, expensive to run behemoth on the UK's antiquated and decaying road system with its 70mph max speed limit and where town traffic is often at a standstill, unless of course you have shares in Esso and mainly do motorway riding or drag racing.

Out in the western US the Rocket is a perfect bike in my opinion. You can tour with the tourers (over 86,000 miles on my 2020GT), and you can run with the sports bikes too. Carry enough stuff for a 10 day ride no problem. Even in town I can do lane filtering easily. Put a quick shifter on the Rocket and I guarantee you that pegging the throttle and running though the gears well let your adrenaline flow.

I saw my first Rocket 3 today and was surprised how small it was, with everyone spouting how big/heavy it is. I had a 2016 Indian Chief Dark Horse (no fairing or bags) that weighed 103 lbs more than the R3. It's pretty cool. I'll get one some day.

I’ve owned my 2022 Rocket GT from new. I have had it Dynoed here in New Zealand, not to increase the power but to eliminate some roughness at low rpm on acceleration which I understand is due to a lean fuel mixture. A byproduct of this work is the engine now produces over 170 hp and 199 NM at the back wheel, which is much smoother than stock. The only negative is I have been changing bars and pegs around to get more comfortable. Having come off Harleys, this is not a new experience for me! I bought it for back country twisty roads which it handles well, and infinitely better than any of the three Harleys I have previously owned (over a 12 year period) or any that I have test ridden. I agree with the heat and width comments, but who wants to lane split on one of these!

Always one of mine dream bikes but no room in the garage, no body parts of value worth selling off! My GS does the handbrake thing, it's really handy now. Never had it before but use it all the time. PS Thumbs up given.

After our meet and little chat, I was intrigued by this machine, so have looked up the two variants and it turns out the seat height for the GT version is lower at 750mm than the R version (not 773mm as you put up.) But, it then has the forwards. However Triumph DO do mids. At £480. Sigh, so unless I could persuade Trumph to put mids on this bike, then I won't get to test ride it, which is a pity. Great review as ever ER. Watch out for that bloke from Spain, he's been putting it about that you are into fetish wear...😇

I rode the first-generation Rocket in 2010, the Roadster, which was 40 kg heavier than the new ones. It felt a lot lighter than it was as the weight was so low. I'd love to ride the new R model as I don't like the feet-forward riding position. It definitely needs a reverse. The Goldwing and big BMW cruisers have them. Nick

I'm surprised it's taken you so long to review this bike, you mentioned you'd had fleeting tries of the other models, must have been the MK1 as little has changed since the 2018 relaunch. Speaking of which that started with the TFC which had similar power to the Storm, then in 2021 Triumph produced the Black R and Triple Black GT. Each of these models were limited to 1,000 bikes World wide enticing folk to buy them for their exclusivity. Triumph just kicked them in the teeth by offering spec from them all on a non limited range. As an owner of the Triple Black I feel cheated, though arguably it's a better looking bike than the Storm. That said it's everything you described and more and I can't imagine the small increase in power makeing much difference to what already is one very powerful machine.

When I say "tries" I mean I only sat on them....yes it took me a while to get on one but in the past Triumphs have been very hard for me to get hold of. I still have have never ridden a speed triple! for example. I can see where your coming from with your story. But your last sentence is spot on, whatever happens you have a super bike : )
