Baja Baja owner reporting in 👍 Love my Trident, just so effortless to ride. Being new to big boy bikes, I 100% think I chose the right introduction. It'll plod along quite happy at low speed but give that throttle a nice pull and you know it really wants to go. Very capable bike and being easy to move around really does inspire confidence. Si, not sure you know this but the trident is a 6 speed 😉. Maybe one day you'll check number 6 out (don't remember you getting out of fifth lol).

Happy Baja Orange Trident 660 owner here. It's my first bike, and I love it. I find it easy to ride and forgiving. It brings a smile to my face every on every ride. Once I passed the running in mode, it become more alive, and I can use those higher revs and feel how it wants to go. Absolutely amazing, I can't be happier with my purchase decision. @simotofoto great review!

I have done 11k miles in 2 years with the Trident. Lovely bike. Build quality, engine, Quickshifter, and TFT are the best bits. Bluetooth module could be improved. I got >8k out of my Michelin Road Sport 5’s, and replaced them with the Road Sport 6’s. Adding sintered brake pads added bite too.

Cheers W, the Road 6's are fantastic have them on my own bike great tyres, wish this bike had a quickshifter its great on the Trident and not to expensive to add. Cheers dude

@@abhishekjpatil the throttle response is something you get used to….revving it in neutral does have a lag. It’s not noticeable while riding, just rev and slip the clutch in 1st. Never a problem in any other gear.

I was set on a gsx 8s (test drove) until I rode the baja orange Trident and fell in love with how smooth and maneuverable it is.

@@simotofoto yes, owned 3 months now and loving it. The other day we were out and my mate asked me to try his nc 750 out and he drove the Trident. I wasn't impressed with the Honda but he was surprised by the Trident and loved it too. Im wondering about changing front sprocket to a 17 tooth as some people say it makes first gear more usable and cruises at lower revs too.

For anyone going WOW…for the price. Keep in mind that Triumph is one of the last to still charge for freight/setup. Tacks on another +$1000-1300. All of a sudden it’s a $10,000 bike not including tax and licensing.

I do think that looks a great first bike, nicely built and good useable power without being intimidating. Having owned modern Hondas and a modern Triumph I can say there is really no comparison in quality. The fact it's not quite so focussed as the Tiger 660 makes it a better bet for a new rider who's perhaps not sure what type of riding they want to do this would give them a little bit of everything. I'm very jealous of your playground that area is fantastic and that art deco ice cream place in Largs is fab I'd be the size of a house if I lived up there lol

I honestly wanted one of these as an upgrade from my Ninja 400, but we don’t get the full power version in NZ sadly. So I’ve ordered a Street Triple instead 😂

The restricted version will leave the 400cc in the dust. I've owned both and still have the trident . Great bike . But the street triple will be on the cards next, Daniel from NZ

You would of been happy with Trident 🔱.The only difference to about 140kmh is 5Nm more full Full power version which is 80hp 64Nm & LAMS is 53hp 59Nm.Also LAMS version torque is set slightly lower I think🤔 by 100rpm.After 140 the full power version blow you away as LAMS version throttle body restricted opens slower & maxes out at 170-175kmh & full power 212kmh.

In NZ 🇳🇿 as well loose your license at 140kmh for 28days & LAMS & Full power side by side the full power only be a few meters ahead till 140kmh not alot a difference till then. Also it's got such great torque delivery 59Nm at 5000rpm & can do 50kmh in 6th if you want & go round corners in 6th & accelerate quickly out of corner on open road.Quick Shifter is amazing & bike punches way above it's wait with Quick Shifter & keeps up with bigger bikes easily.I wouldn't recommend LAMS Trident 🔱 660 as first bike unless you got riding experience a smaller bike or a less powerful bike be better first if new to riding.A Ninja 400 or KTM 390 if got no riding experience at all.

Good review 👍, 60 mpg is about right , my 660 Sport has averaged 62 ,with mixed riding ,over 3000 mls . The round clock [ dash ] on this bike is much smarter than the Tiger 660 which is a weird shape . A remote preload adjustment would be better . Cruise option would be appreciated . An easy bike to manhandle into your garage or in a car park , which is good for old farts , erhm sorry , I mean experienced riders of advanced years . Two riding modes is enough for me , actually one would be fine , as I don't use "rain" . All in all a very nice package for the money .

I get 100km 60miles to the gallon 4.7Liters with a mix of riding conditions & pushing it hard out 4.9L per 100kmh. I have seen it as low as 4.6L per 100km taking it real real easy.I average about 4.8L per 100km but don't do 50kmh in 6th which you can I do 55kmh in 6th than change down to 5th & I accelerate hard out with Quick Shifter.
