Wow, thank you Del & Penny for such a giant plug for our music. That’s amazing! Also thank you to all those of you that have donated to download the album or song! Please can I ask that you only pay for the download if you genuinely like the music! Not looking for handouts or for anyone to feel sorry for us! So many people have been affected by this. It really sucks! We have used this time to record some original music as well as some older ones! If you truly love it we will happily accept your donation! If not, what’s the matter with you? Just kidding! Have fun and stay safe! You all rock, especially D&P XXXX

Del I've followed you for a few years now and you have become a staple part of my viewing, your advice and guidance has been perfect for me and I have taken the bits I like to give me the gumption to attempt things in my own garage that I wouldn't otherwise have and this has made me appreciate my own bike much much more. I think people forget sometimes this channel is a hobby for you not a literal business and whether it's the Busa build to now this Triumph ( potentially my favorite one to date ) the production values and your style of presentation is what makes me want to watch it rather than just an A to B of how to, over other channels " people buy from who they like." Your personality shines through even with all the "coolantgate" stuff you bother to help your mates out ( donation done ) as they have helped to create the tone and success of this channel. You are still learning and finding your way with all this and have way bigger Delbollocks than any of us that merely sit back, mock or critcise.

Thank you Paul, that's very kind of you to say, and we really appreciate the generous feedback. KZbin has changed out of all recognition of the years, it's most certainly not the happy and friendly place it used to be. But the same has to be said for the whole of social media. The saddest change in KZbin over the years is not the incessant trolling and increasingly disrespectful behaviour, but the shear amount of Good people, wonderful generous creators, kindly souls who cared about people, and reached out to help others how ever they could....who have packed up and left the platform for good, sick of the horrible nature of an ever increasing, aggressive pack mentality. For the time being, we're happy to carry on as usual and keep going, we have plenty of kind and generous support from good people like yourself, Thank you again for taking the time to write, it's a breath of fresh air at this time. Take care. Del.

Hey mate, hello from Aus. Great work with the foot peg. I installed a set of rear sets on my gixxer track bike and it also used a single bolt through with no nut on the inside like you have for the peg itself, not the main bracket. I found with moving my foot forward and backward during riding, you are putting rotational force onto the peg and the foot peg began to rotate as it caused the bolt became loose. Even RED loctite didn't help. This was on the track so your moving your foot constantly from ball to toe for the corners. Maybe you wont have the same issue on a daily street bike. The more expensive rear sets have sort of like a little locating pin that stops the peg from rotating as the peg has the knurling to make it grippy. I would suggest keep an eye on it or even throw a nyloc nut on the inside if you can on the main bolt that holds it to the chassis. Love the channel and the detail you go into.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Glenn, thanks so much for that insight mate, that's a very valid observation and something I would have probably found out the long way! There is about 9mm of space on the inside, so not quite enough for a full nut in a nyloc, but I'm planning to turn one down to fit, it only needs maybe 3 threads with the addition of some threadlock, and it should be ok, but if that doesn't stop it (because vibration always plays a part) it may be worth fathoming out some form of lock tab, or a key way, but till I think it through I've not worked that out yet... thank you for the heads up mate.
@joepie2214 жыл бұрын
Nice job Del.The final assembly looks good. I'd like to make a comment. Respectfully of course. The 2 larger bushings you made would have benefited by an additional smaller boss on the side that mated with the adjoining surface. It would add strength and helped with location and concentric alignment.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great tip Joe, I see that, the face that the spacer mates up to on the peg side, is actually the body of the peg itself, the spacer provided was 2mm smaller than the peg, so I cam out to meet that diameter to provide more bracing when you stand on the peg... and, of course, to spread the load a little on the face of the frame.. I guess to machine a boss that would go inside the peg I'd have had to have machined out some of the peg itself, the way it seems to be designed, is that the peg fits inside the lever allowing it to turn, but like all these things, they're mass produced and there's always a slightly better way to design them I've found... it seems more than strong enough to stand on, and am going to machine down a lock nut to fit on the back, there's about 8mm of protruding thread inside the frame and once it's threadlocked, it should stop it working loose as with the peg being knurled, and your foot moving around on it all the time, I guess it could cause it to rotate loose... only time will tell! Thanks again for your wonderful support Sir, it's always good to hear from you.

Great video as always. I am following your Legend upgrades with great interest as I have one. I'm not really looking to change mine from original but am eagerly awaiting the tidying up, finishing and servicing tips. By the way, you removed the frame finisher to avoid the new linkage clashing, what do you propose to put there instead? There are some chrome ones available but I guess they will be the same projection from the frame as the one you took off. Watching with interest! Keep up the good work.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil, great to hear from another Legend owner, they're an amazing bike and a shame that Triumph make nothing remotely like it any more, but guess that makes them that more unique... with the finisher, there is only, maybe, 10mm of space behind the linkage, so I have a flush fitting rubber grommet that'll snap neatly in to the hole and I guess some flush fit thread caps to snap in to the thread holes, the kind that go in to your handlebar clamp allen screws, all that comes at the end, just dry building for now! Thanks for your support and enjoy the project!

Nice to see you care for your fellow musician , in regards of the built you rush it , if you had taken your time and took all the propper mesurements you could have avoided eliminated the swingarm cap , a thicker spacer could have clear it but you had allready cut the bolt and the rod of the likage , take your time to think of what you do.cheers!!
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Thank you LUIS, but a thicker spacer wouldn't have cleared it, with the securing nut included it would have had to space out at least an inch further, meaning the foot peg wold be too far from the bike, clobber your leg every time you put your foot down, and the linkage itself would have had a slant too far for the rose joint, it was all thought out mate, easier to remove the cap and going to pop a rubber grommet over the shaft head in to that nice recess.

Good video mate! @Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, thank you for that wonderful encouragement mate, we really appreciate it... my absolute watch word is never to get in to politics! My only politics is the business of motorcycles and how successive Governments have tried to curb our lifestyle and make it harder for us to ride and customise bikes, they've never succeeding in stopping us doing what we love to do thanks for effective pressure groups like MAG & the BMF, but over the years they've managed to gnaw away at the edges of our freedoms and the new motorcyclists of today are nothing like the bikers of yesteryear, so just keeping the faith mate and trying to pass on the old skills that people can use to save a bit of money.

Hi Eli. These are the footrests and levers i used, but you do have to order custom length bolts to bolt them to the frame, and make your own custom double bent, rose jointed linkage, i made mine from some parts from another bike.. Fantastic work 👍 as always, (just trying to help)just a note for maximum mechanical advantage it would be best if the engine gear shifter and foot peg linkage leavers were parallel to each other, as you had them before you had to flip them round to clear the side stand.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Whilst it is relevant Savneo, it's not critical, the tabs should be within 10 degrees of parallel and that's fine, specially when they're as long as these... the angle of tolerance decreases with the length of the lever and more importantly, clearance of the operating movement is always a consideration when setting it up... thanks for your input mate.

Very nice Del looks great. That defiantly took time thinking it through. Always like thinking on the outside of the box. Really like the music. Working on bikes and having music played go hand and hand. Del do you know anything about Oberon company? I am looking at getting a set of brake and clutch levers for my H-D.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, great to hear from you, hope you're having a great weekend.. Thank you for your kind words on the linkage, it was a lot of fun and very satisfying to get it working effectively and signed off... Yes i have heard of Oberon, in fact back in the Harley play lists i have a video in there somewhere fitting a pair to a Sportster.... and as a measure of their strength, the bike in question fell on its side one day (aided by an old guy trying to park and not seeing it behind him), and the ball on the end of the lever took the full impact of the fall.....did id break off?.. NO.. all that happened was a tiny scratch in the black anodized finish, and the entire lever and switch block assembly was pushed along the handlebar by almost an inch.. all i had to do was loosen the screws that hold it all in place, wriggle it back down the bar into position, tighten it up, and ride home... so hell yeah, they're darn strong, The only down side was the price.. they are about £75 EACH over here.. and you can buy the cheap Chinese copy ones for £12 a pair.. but two reasons why i made the obvious choice.. one:- because it was my Harley Davidson, my pride and joy, and why would i dress my best girl in rubbish... and more importantly.. i rode home that day and didn't get stranded.. the quality paid off and justified the investment.. we live in an increasingly throw away world.. and when fitting an upgraded accessory part, IMO it should be at least "as good" as the factory item, or better..! Hope that helps you sir, take care and have a good weekend.. D&Pxx

If the spacer between the frame and footpeg was thicker to the extent that you didn’t have to bend the link rod, would the rod clear the cover that you removed? I’m not being a smart-arse - it’s easy to be wise after the event and difficult to anticipate everything in advance.
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Glynn, I did think that through mate, but the amount of contact with the cover was about 20mm so it would have needed to clear by at least 5mm (because the covers unnecessarily fat, and what's under it is almost flush with the frame, it's more a style thing), so to space it round it would have meant bringing the peg out a whole inch, giving way more flex, which I don't want and also clobbering my calf every time I put my feet down, not to mention the extreme dog leg I'd have had to put on the link rod... easier just to whip it off and am going to put a flush bung neatly over the shaft bolt, it'll look really cool!

Hi Del, not sure if you remember me I sent you some brittool robo pliers a long while ago, i still watch very often I was wondering if you can help: I have bought a cbr 1000rr fireblade 2012 plate, broke down yesterday just cut out battery seemed dead, checked battery with a multimeter and voltage is rising when running, left the battery over night and its at 13.2 volts, lost .2 volts over night, i have rode the bike around 600 miles in a week for it to go that low to require a charge does this mean the battery is defective? However seems to hold the charge now im a little confused. Thanks

Nice job del. For the life of me I don't know how you keep so calm with all the crap you sometimes get. Fair enough the coolant video maybe wasn't the best advice but 99% of your stuff is good solid advice IMHO, said with a good heart and intentions. Just a real shame you get attacked so personally for it..I dont have much faith in basic humanity sometimes mate.

Thank you Martin for your kind words, knowing we have kind support from decent people makes it a little more bearable... like you, think many of us have begun to question our faith in human nature, but as you'll notice, it's always a minority.

The minority are good at ruining things for the majority 🙄 keep up the good work del, ignore the hate

@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Click "Show More" under the video Mark, you'll see the link to The Transitions EP, Open that, you can download the music, when you do that, you'll be asked to "Name Your Price".. and you can leave what ever donation you like in exchange for the download..! Good luck and thank you on behalf of the lads..
