Been into Trivium since 2003, but these fanboys claiming Matt's cleans are "incredible" are either tone deaf or delusional. I love Matt for the incredibly talented musician that he is, but being a powerful "clean" singer is simply not one of his strengths. Instead of wasting time training his vocals for this kind of style, he should continue to be a better screamer with the raspy, "clean" vocals. He is a God when it comes to that aggressive style.

I do think his voice was pretty good for the album, and the start of the tour cycle, but it's obvious his technique has worsened, you can see how he's often using too much breath when trying to have good breath support, and now he just sounds plain bad, but yeah I totally agree on the agressive stuff, but I can understand why he doesn't do it anymore, he can't figure out how to do it correctly

I don't think he is wasting his time by training his vocals for this kind of style, if this is how he wants to sing that's how he should sing. He should do what makes him happy, if we don't like the songs or the style he uses we can go listen to their older records or listen to other musicians.

@@ZRAA1703 No, not really. He sounds amazing on the studio records (due to the enhancements they're able to make). But live, it's just not so great. His voice is not made for hitting high notes. He just can't do it well. Even the new screaming technique he uses live is not good. I love that he at least uses his old screaming technique when recording the albums.
