It’s hard to believe that it’s been 21/22yrs that i first seen them live at the almighty “Harpos” in Detroit with Travis Smith on drums. Children Of Bodom was headlining & Trivium was the main support to “COB” & Amon Amarth opened up for Trivium & COB. That was around the same time that Amon Amarth & Trivium really started gaining traction. They both absolutely killed it. Amon Amarth most definitely paid their dues to where they are now & they formed in 1992 so they had already been at it for 12yrs & Trivium about 7-8yrs. That show was killer! I got to meet both Trivium & Amon Amarth at there merch booths & had an awesome conversation with Johan Hegg about hockey as I’m Canadian & we chatted for a minimum of 20-25mins.

See, this is why it's crucial to have a good bass player that respects what the job is meant to bring. Even when Nick was getting sloppy and couldn't keep time to save himself, Paulo was the one who stayed on time, on rythym and on key, so Matt and Corey could still fall back on him. It's proof that when things go to shit, the bass player is the one to try and bring it back together and Paulo did what he could to try and bring Nick back up to speed. Nick just couldn't get it together in the end. I'm not surprised Nick was booted from the band, but we need to give respect and appreciation to Paulo for doing his job as a bass player and making this performance salvageable.
