I like when he doubles matts vocals on the choruses or does a harmony over them, especially in the last couple of years, since matt doesn't seem to bring the same raw power of his cleans in the studio when they are playing live

Trivium is big sure but to reach Metallica levels of fame, they have a lo g way to go unfortunately. Disturbed, Slipknot are much closer in that sense.
@singleproppilot2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it will ever happen for Trivium, or any other metal band, honestly. In the late 80s and early 90s, metal was much more mainstream. Metallica hit it big with the black album, with shorter, simpler, more radio-friendly songs that you could sing along too. They were also immediately accused of selling out, which I have never thought was a fair accusation, but the sell-out label has stuck with them, regardless. As much as I love Trivium, no one can understand what Matt is saying during the screaming parts, and their lyrical references are too cryptic for mainstream audiences to care. If Trivium wrote a love ballad like Nothing Else Matters, it might happen, but I don’t think they want to do that or they would have done it already. I think they are happy with the niche they occupy.
