@@IVIShillizIVI Nope I stand by my statement. Matt before wouldn't have been able to hit the high notes on The Defiant, at least not consistently (live). You could really tell he wasn't feeling good/straining too much when he first made the change in the Silence tour. He sounds a lot healthier live now. WTDMS sounds incredible with the new clean style and the old screams. Vocally, this is probably the best record since In Waves imo. I agree about the new screaming technique that he uses live but it still sounds okay in a live setting, esp with Corey's backing vocals. Thanks for the name-calling.

Correct. He's said so before, coming off Ascendancy Trivium were huge in the UK. The Crusade totally flipped that and they became one of the most hated and reviled bands in a very short time. I was a fan at the time actually and I remember that huge twist in peoples perception, not just in the UK but world wide. I'm in New Zealand and it was even the case here for a while. Almost overnight Trivium went from this promising incredible band into a band it was trendy to hate. This narrative would begin to dissolve with Shogun but it would be years before they'd actually manage to shake that image.

@@Xevonarin I kind of remember a lot of people talking shit about them when they were opening for Slipknot on the All Hope Is Gone Tour. Like, in person, people were talking shit about them after the show. I remember hearing people saying they felt that tour under sold because of the openers. They played Madison Square Garden in NYC and only filled about half, at best 2/3 of the arena. I kind of blame the recession mostly, since it was just a few months into it, which definitely hurt sales, but I digress.

WTDMS is one of the best records in recent memory, every track is great from start to finish. All killer no filler. Love how you guys have managed to mix the early sound that Trivium had with the new polished sound of the recent albums. The musicianship cannot be understated, every member is very talented but with the recruitment of Alex the band is musically complete imo. Can’t wait to catch you guys in Michigan again. \m/
