@SUPERMA5TER Hold your guns. If they use it all over the album then it's a gimmick. It's a cool sounding effect and it makes the riff pop. End of the day, someone is always the first to do something, and eventually others incorporate it into their thing. I know in metal there's a rigidity to this idea, but it goes back to the formation of metal, and runs through every configuration of it so far.

They are definitely one of the best metal bands from the 2000s in my opinion. Their newer work is arguably better in some ways, though they have had many stylistic changes mainly focusing around rhythm, tempo, tuning and vocal delivery which has given each album its own kind of feel. You can really tell when they've had lineup changes/personal issues with performing but personally it doesn't take anything away from them. I love all their music and will forever be a diehard fan

Also Alex uses a lot of accented notes on the ride and the snare when he's playing that blast beat also, he's playing seisillos (idk how to say that in English) in the bass drum to alternate the pattern preventing it to became repetitive. I hope I was any help explaining this tricky shizz. UwU Edit: I heard that again and realized he's playing two types of blast beats with different kinds of patterns in the bass drum and alternates them with two different drum fills... MemeGod 24ever I see what you’re saying but for me personally shogun and in waves were near flawless albums as was vengeance falls. The problem was live performances with drummers. They no longer have that issue because Alex is a god amongst men. Honestly I can’t hear a single difference between his studio and live performance.
