Lyrics:
In The Court Of The Dragon
In the court of the dragon
Death of gods and world
In the court of the dragon
You will know your worth
Hammer clenched
Open mouth
Living ‘neath the tides of pain
Surely any man would drown
Horrid king
Cries unheard
Bathed in blood
You’ll get what you deserved
Burning home
Only child
Hidden from the deadly ones
Hunted far but never found
Nightmare past
Haunting him
Bides his time
Sinks into the sea
In the court of the dragon
Death of gods and world
In the court of the dragon
You will know your worth
Final clash
Beast and man
Rising from the violent waves
With bloodied head in hand
Open mouth
Swallowing the king
Gods devoured whole
Light extinguishing
No more
Will the sun look down to illuminate the world
In spite of all the hate behind these eyes
I’ve seen that only one of us survives
I’m here to destroy you
I’m here to avenge
In the court of the dragon I descend
The stars have died and the heavens go up in flames
Earth
Sinks
The stars have died and the heavens go up in flames
Earth
Sinks
The stars have died and the heavens go up in flames
Earth
Sinks
The stars have died and the heavens go up in flames
In spite of all the hate behind these eyes
I’ve seen that only one of us survives
I’m here to destroy you
I’m here to avenge
In the court of the dragon I descend
In spite of all the hate behind these eyes
I’ve seen that only one of us survives
I’m here to destroy you
I’m here to avenge
In the court of the dragon I descend
In the court of the dragon
Death of gods and world
In the court of the dragon
You will know your worth

Every time I think they couldn't get any better, they do something like this. I swear, Alex Bent joining this band really put the fire back into the writing, they're doing things I never thought possible now. This'll make 3 fantastic albums in a row with no signs of even slowing down, much less stopping. It's a good time to be a Trivium fan.

@@benjamindaigrepont1230 It's quite a feat too, to put out some of your best work 10 albums into a career. I didn't get into Trivium until late into their career. I'd heard about them, but all my impressions came from detractors assuring me they were just Metallica copycats with a worse template - metalcore. I feel that was true early on in their career, but that's far from being the case now. Songs like this epic, cinematic masterpiece show just how much they've grown out of those comparisons and how much I missed out on. Since catching up on their discography, I've seen them live three times and every experience only gets better and better. Trivium are one of a kind, man.

and it's amazing how he does it, because he manages to perfectly stay within the bounds of being an awesome and intense drummer, but not intricate to the point of being corny or overdone.

Holy fuck TRIVIUM! You guys have literally outdone your last 4 albums in just one song! If there is an album to follow this, I'm beyond stoked to hear it! The Trivium we all love is back and on fire!!!

Trivium knows how to cure the world. I just wish the world knows how to appreciate such a masterpiece. Thanks a lot Trivium for making the world a bit better place to live now. And just to note, in a war, whichever nation gets Alex Bent, that nation wins the war.

IMHO - Sayin Trivium just keep getting better and better is like saying that their previous stuff wasn't quite there, but the way I see it, they have always been awesome from the start, and every album is sick and equal in my opinion. Alex Bent is an awesome drummer, but the band is so talented, to always come up with such fantastic new material, which belies belief, as they did with their previous drummers, so credit goes to the Band as a whole... Alex just adds his "BENT" to what they create.. Can't wait for the new album..

I see what Alex is doing here… writing the most complex and insane drum parts so that Trivium can never get rid of him and get a new drummer. No one will be able to keep up with his monster drumming. 🤣 🐙

haha, right. Man, I think it's as simple as they finally brought someone in that can match their talent and drive and push them further, while also having great social chemistry with them. It's been fantastic, going towards 3 albums now this quartet is.

@@ismaeljrp1 yes totally agree. I love what he’s brought to the band and totally matches and pushes them. It’s the most consistent they’ve been with him in the fold. So excited for the new album
