Trivium The Phalanx Lyrics : Within the thrill, amidst the kill One against all, soon blood will spill We cannot wait to make your pain We are the burn inside your brain Herding the weak to fire Scorching the fleeing liars Witness the dying saboteurs Carcasses washed upon the shores Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars ... Burn the bridge Take the ash Scatter deceptiveness We are the ones who led the way This path to hell and misery An endless war, a hollow cause When we all die, we'll see no gods Herding the weak to fire Scorching the fleeing liars Witness the dying saboteurs Carcasses washed upon the shores Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars Burn the bridge Take the ash Scatter deceptiveness I'm the source Of your hate Only yourself to blame Dying ,Dying once seemed so heroic to me Giving this body for a people in need Now I realize there is nothing to see Nothing but dirt and decay ... Decay, Decay... Dying, Dying once seemed so heroic to me Giving this body for a people in need Now I realize there is nothing to see Nothing but dirt and decay .. Decay, Decay.. Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars If they should take me Then may they break me Kill me, burn me But I'll stay torched into the heart Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars Don't let this take me Split me wide open Rip me from the stars If they should take me Then may they break me Kill me, burn me But I'll stay torched into the heart

He talked me out of joining but that aside we will always need soldiers sadly because the moment we stop showing our military authority we would surely get more 911 events or risk having to fight on our own soil here in America. So you didn't do it for nothing and don't let people make you feel like a monster because we sadly live in a world where if we want to keep our land and little "freedom" we have war will always exist.

@@LiMiiTzOSRS Shogun is way overrated. Some of the songs are great, like Down from the sky, or the 1st track(I don't remember the name because that album insisted on having almost all of the song's names be longass & strange titles, as well as most of the songs being too long), but also most of the songs on Shogun hopped around too much with seemingly little to no real structure of the song, like Oh this riff sounds cool, so let's add that but only for like 20 seconds tops and then throw it back in randomly, 7 & ½ minutes into the song! 😂 They just didn't sound as epic, structured, memorable or straightforward as they did on Ascendancy, which IMO is their best album! Ascendancy also had better melody. And it had big hits like Dying in Your Arms, Ascendancy, Washing Away Me In The Tides, Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr (a bit long of a title, but rhymes & is interesting & fairly easy to remember), Like Light To Flies, oh and an amazing cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets! 👍 (on the Delux edition) maybe give that album another go. It's much easier & more fun to get through the whole thing than Shogun IMO.

Badass! Another conment mentioned how this song is a journey, and it really is. A lot of Trivium songs are like that, and it's one of the things I love most about them. Every song is a rollercoaster of an experience.

Holy shit, guys. This is AWESOME! Loving Matt's vocal on this track, a great blend of harsh, slightly distorted, and clean. And the instrumental is, as always, insane.

This is how you make a song sound like it's from Shogun without copying and pasting. You can tell they went back, deconstructed their old sound, and rebuilt it anew. Nicely done boys.

This track was written for Shogun. "The other new song, The Phalanx, will be included on Trivium's upcoming album, In the Court of the Dragon. A 7-minute assault of metal with killer riffs and crazy time signatures, The Phalanx was originally written for the band’s fourth studio album, but was never finished. "
