Yes this was a Brazil themed special event, NO THIS SONG IS NOT PERUVIAN, YES the singer is originally from Peru but this style of music was known as Exotica, which was a mish mash of music genres from all around the world, especially African drums, Cuban mambo and yes, Brazilian samba. Exotica was very popular in North America in the mid century, which is where the incredibly talented Yma Sumac was living and producing music with her husband.

Aline Zoe So Sia's songs are American just because they are pop? Dont try to understimate her nationality saying that gender is from other country. That song is peruvian because who sang it is peruvian. That song is not "American" or from the Caribe. It's like Salsa, there are salsa bands from all around the world and you cant say every salsa song is from the Caribe even it is recorded in the USA.

Saw Trixie do this live ca. 2011 in Milwaukee... so it's been in her rep for a while. I watched both Trixie and Jinx perform online... No kidding it's Peruvian. DUH. Jinx didn't have a Peruvian flag in her performance. Should we take away some princess points? Does that make Jinx 'ignorant'? Just relax and enjoy it for what it is.
