Hayabusa and my own ZX14r are far superior to any 1000cc in my honest opinion. I ride on the street, 1% of the time I'm using all the power it has to offer and leaning it down just like a sport bike, the other 99% of my time I'm cruising around in comfort or riding in traffic. This is exactly why I believe these big bikes are still the kings of street bikes, leave the other things on the track.

Does it bother you sometimes how little power you can actually pull in on the street? I am being genuinely curious since I let go of my RSV4 a few weeks ago exactly because I could only use a tiny sliver of its performance on my rides without risking losing my licence. I suppose the Busa is a different category since it has endless amounts of torque at any gear (which the RSV4 did not, although the V4 really was one of a kind), which makes it fun in a different way, but I have been looking for something that I could maybe squeeze a little harder on the street and not feel guilty about the consequences in an instant.

@clayman1980 since typing the original comment, I sold the 14r. Still love it as a sport bike. But that's just it. It's a machine that wants to give 100% and isn't really meant for doing any less. Now I have a Triumph adventure bike. It's slower in speed and acceleration of course, but still provides a thrilling sporty handling experience. And it's a joy to ride in any conditions. Even on gravel roads now, a whole new world is opened up to me. It's way better as a all around package.

@clayman1980 and even with having the adventure bike now, I'm already considering getting a cruiser. I got to Demo ride a Indian Cheiftain, 10 years of riding experience for me now and I've realized the one thing that never goes out of style, is being comfortable, having ergonomic controls, nice floorboards to stretch out the legs on, storage space for my things, and a nice audio system for listening to music. That chieftain I rode will never be something ridden fast, but it will be a comfortable experience 100% of the time I am on it. I started focus more on the kind of riding I actually want to do, and I've stepped away from the vision of the kind of rider my ego thinks it is. So no more sport bikes for this guy, and I appreciate cruisers alot more now, never thought I would.

I still seem to prefer more "spirited" riding and so I am looking for something I can throw around in corners and that is capable of going (reasonably) fast and still be fun. So far I have had my eyes set on Aprilia's RS660, but I could consider other alternatives.

done 20k+ on the clock now, the gen3 is my first busa and fully convinced me into the cult. after 60k+ sitting on the r1 and other sport bikes, the busa makes perfect sense for people like me who actually ride every day and dont wanna stick to boring commuters or hurt the lower back on track weapons

I’ve had a couple of Hayabusas I’ve currently got a ZZR1400. These bikes mean business nothing like being one of the most powerful vehicles on the road. They totally make sense.

I got the 2022 ZX14R too, I chose to stay with Kawasaki and I'm happy but I loved the new Busa after demo riding it during the progressive motorcycle event. I might add this BUSA to the stable in a couple years!

Had my gen 3 with performance pack for a week now and after owning a gen 1 and a gen 2 there is no question this is their best effort yet, for all the reason you state, well done Suzuki and great video.

My 2013 Gen 2 ZZR1400 blows my mates Gen 3 Busa away. He's well pissed. It's much too restricted due to Euro 5 etc.

Anyone that has ever owned any generation Hayabusa knows how special these Suzuki’s are. Quoting this isnt the most comfortable fastest bike in the world is a big call from this presenter thats never owned this motorcycle. Just a couple of days riding doesnt make you an expert! I challenge you mate to find any other motorcycle that can supply TWO seat capability with the same speed potential and comfort this bike can afford. And no its not basically a big adventure bike ( thats the most stupid comment I have ever heard!)👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 Its the cult legend that it is 👍👍👍

Thanks Tim, great review! My 2005 Busa puts that same smile on my face - albeit less refined delivery then the Gen 2 or 3 bikes now. But there is something special about the Busa that sets it apart from the crowd. It doesn't need to prove anything, it's got the T-Shirt already and it can motor on past the crowd in all its pride and glory. Thanks Suzuki and thanks again Tim. It's like the Aston Martin of the Bike world!

I’m really tired about people on you tube, complaining about Hayabusa . It is an Icon and it will be forever. In the last 50 years only 2 bikes was build for Highway speed. Hayabusa and ZZR 1400. Only these 2 can stay on 250 kmh from London to Tokio😂😂😂 All the rest can stay on the garage and dreaming. Pointless to have 160hp on a KTM 1290 or a Ducati Multistrada. Poinless to have 220 Hp on naked bikes and so and so…..Sport Adventures are not build for high speed. 100 Hp is enough. Naked….hmmm. You get smashed by the wind after 15min driving over 150kmh. Just imagine riding a MT 10 Yamaha vs Hayabusa on german Highway at 200-250 kmh. Or a Panigale, or a street fighter, …Hayabusa has his only destination and purpose. To keep the rider safe and comfortable at 250kmh.

It's still the king of speed. People only compare stock bikes but if it's tuned, no litre bike, no H2 or S1K or V4R could come close. It's the most aerodynamic bike. And torque makes a much bigger difference than horsepower. It's not just a sport "touring" bike, it absolutely can be supersport. Just not a track bike. It's still the king.

I shall stick with my mint '07 Blackbird if you don't mind. The QS and modern electronics would be nice to have but I don't really need them. The joy is the buttery smooth engine which whilst it doesn't have 190bhp like this Hayabusa is still a ballistic missile for under a third of the cost of a new one of these. I think the BB might even be a tad lighter. This looks to be larger than a BB. I think if was contemplating buying one of these I'd also be looking at a Kawasaki Z1000SX which admittedly doesn't have the same cult following. I remember last year when this latest gen Hayabusa was launched you could buy one for £14k. Now at £17k with the performance pack with Akrapovic exhausts on top, it's a bit steep!

I bought one in June 2021 when they came out here in Ireland , now with 10,200 kms on it , I enjoy every ride on it , but now find myself thinking about a triumph 3R instead of it , would I be mad to trade in my gen 3 busa , being a serial bike changer the last few years for my daily bike (March to October daily) doesn’t help😬 where as my 2 older bikes will never get sold or traded in

Hmmm...interesting conundrum. I would probably stick to the Busa. It does more while also matching the Triumph for performance chops (exceeding it in real life terms). It is sporty, comfortable, economical (relatively impressive economy really)...the one area the Triumph probably claws back some points is the wow factor. But as a naked muscle cruiser, it is playing a different game perhaps. Good luck choosing anyway, both bikes are at the pinnacle of choice!

Seventeen grand!! Another £2,600 for decent pipes, a plastic seat cowl, a non Slidey seat and a tank pad. Suzuki not only gave up the Crown they lost the crown jewels as well. The least they could have done was try to top the ZZR 1400 in the comfort and touring stakes. Still this makes me happy because my ZZR 1400 Performance Sport retains the Crown and the Crown jewels. The last one sold and registered in Europe, it's the Matriarch of large capacity Sports tourers. Sure some argue it's a Hyper Sports, yet many smaller rivals will demolish it on a track. Non however offer mile munching comfort and exhilaration.

If you’re going to be riding sensibly then just get a Kawasaki Concours The Hayabusa is still a niche weekend bike if only they made a Touring Hayabusa for police use then the bike would make sense Police departments are using the newer Honda Goldwing and that says a lot. Not sure if Id get the Hayabusa when the FJR is available.

Do we call the CBR a dinosaur? What about the R1? No? Ninja? No dinosaur there? so why are we calling a brand new generation of a super bike a lovable dinosaur? What makes a bike who's first generation came out in 99 more archaic than a model that came out in the mid 90's? The ninja is older by a number of years. So is the CB/CBR. The r6 came out in 99. I believe the R1 came out in 98 or 99. The hayabusa is no less modern than any other bike on the market. It may not have as many bells and whistles as some but the 22/23 busa is a brand spanking new generation with tons of advancements from gen 2. I don't get the "dinosaur" dig. Somebody explain it to me like I'm 5.
