Cool. the board looks great for Dubai conditions. What is the minimum wind to get planning?

Depends on the sail I suppose. I don't get out much when it's a drifter. I suppose in lake conditions it could plane in 5 knots if you were light enough.

Hi Jeff, great video! Where did you launch from? I love the wave breaker on your back that helps to create a perfect flat terrain for jibe practice. I'm new to Dubai and haven't brought my equipment here yet, but I see that the conditions can be very good. Do you remember what wind and sail you rode when you filmed that one? I ride a 104lt board and my biggest sail is 6.5m (typically I ride with 4,7 to 5,3m in Greece where it is rather windy and choppy), so perhaps I should get some new stuff for Dubai, maybe a 120lt board and 7 to 8m sails, correct?

such an amazing thing to do.Congratulations man,you show in this video that no matter the age,you can do anything, and going 5km offshore ALONE come on man, your awesome. One question though, which board do you use in the video, and what that rail in the center line,is that a daggerboard rail or a very long mast base track?

Hi, The board is a Exocet D2 Elite. A very large carbon fibre board verging on small boat dimensions. It works pretty well for me but my favourite board is a Kona Carb One. There is a mast track forward and a fully retracting daggerboard well aft.
