Hello Austin, in between watching the Buffalo Bills distroy the New England Patriots, I watched your great video. I honestly can't pick a favorite color BUT I didn't care for the pink guitar. The whole collection is keepers... My pop's repaired firearms had a ways & means of injecting glue into broken stocks. They sell kits that will do that now. I repaired a pushed in Strapbutton on my first electric guitar, a used Red 1966 Guild Starfire was the guitar. I still jam with her, ear plugs in place depending on what amp I'm using. It's actually not from stand rash, they were hung up in the store, on the show floor, up across the back, in the no touch zone, all our Gibsons were. And back then even from Gibson, they never told us to not hang up their guitars, every store did....of course many guitar stands nowadays come with paper stating don't put Gibson's on them. We were told it was Transparent Black and back in 1990, (as the white custom was pure white) the transparent black was grey, as the purple WAS purple, the white was white, not the cream they many times turned to. I have seen them in since the late 90's. But to me, some of the transparent colors have mellowed a touch

If Trogly just ignores it without demanding compensation from either the seller or from the shipping company , he becomes a target for anyone that wants to take advantage of a reasonable person. @scott Paine I could not agree with you more. This is not the first time this has happened to trogly. In fact each time this has happened , he has not , to my knowledge gone back to the seller to ask for a discount, a return, or minimally shamed them so that everyone would be aware of who the bad actors are. Not sure what parameters govern this sale, but stand rash alone on all if promoted as new/VOS/mint etc is a mis-representation...not to mention the strap button on the one standard and the head dings on the customs. That's what is unique about my situation with having to run a KZbin channel as compared to a regular guy. I have to wait until I can set up my area to film the unboxing and be able to present on the topic which requires research, a bit of memorization/refresher of the topic and being in the right mental place to do it. I also have reviews that might take priority over filming unboxing episodes among other things. Add in the Holidays, getting sick, getting injured then other people in the family getting sick and having a good 20 guitars delivered within 2 days also added to the delay here. I'm also really unhappy with my recording set up right now for unboxings so I have low motivation to film them - lugging that triple box to my other recording location was out of the picture. Yes, it opens me up for liability and is ultimately the reason I never bothered the seller with any of these damages. I typically try to open within one week for that reason. Thankfully, if something gets damaged, you usually have around 45-90 days to report it to the carrier and since I film everything there is never a question of "I broke it after it arrived"

Really sweet collection. One thing that kind of sucks about buying Gibsons especially used ones is if that guitar was ever rough handled or dropped while in use or in shipping, especially around the headstock area, sometimes the damage doesn’t appear right away. I bought a visually mint condition studio once that arrived just fine but maybe three weeks later, while sitting on the stand it developed a crack underneath the fretboard area but still in the neck right near the typical break area. I was able to get it repaired and glued back up like new again for relatively cheap, but it is something to keep in mind with those sensitive Gibson head stocks.

The mocha is what I’ve heard called “Baby Poop Brown”. You would think a dealer would know the stands are going to eat into the lacquer. All the stands I’ve purchased came with a prominent WARNING tag saying it was likely to occur if the foam padding contacts the nitrocellulose finish on the instrument. Even on the cheapest stand Musician’s Friend sold. Oh well, it is what it is. Caveat emptor. Peace my friend.
@jefffurst10032 жыл бұрын
Having "PLEASE DO NOT PLAY" written on a piece of paper next to the display isn't a dead giveaway that the guitar's weren't just in storage or whatever he was told by the seller. It's almost like he didn't even look them over and just grabbed them off a shelf or out of wherever they were stored, half-assed packaged them and sent them out. What a complete idiot. I'm not saying he should have lied but don't tell a buyer they've never been played and then send them like he did with stand rash, chips, and "do not play" card's from when they were on display like he said he said they never were. Plus, I've watched the show enough to know that had the seller been honest a n disclosed the issue's prior to lying about them he may have had a chance at selling the second set if the price was right and Trogly knew he may be able to make some money on the second one or the one he least liked. That's what he does and from his commentary it's obvious he's wany the 6 for some time. Again, having watched the show enough I know he's easy to work with but don't lie to him or you have pretty much ended any business relationship that may have existed or may have been possible.

I have a vintage trans red Les Paul Custom (only the top is red, everything else is natural mahogany) and the black plastics do look great. That said, in the past I've changed all of the black plastics to the cream used on the LP Standards and it totally transforms the way the guitar looks and presents. It is wild how just changing the plastics can transform the instrument into a totally different looking guitar.

Interesting vid and very well presented. With each guitar you opened, my blood pressure rose a little more. Personally I would be choked with the state of those guitars as they simply weren't in the condition the seller said they were. I endured a similar situation when I purchased a complete set of 7 White stock Winchester .30-30' Rifles. The seller claimed they were never displayed, but clearly the stock and barrel condition was flawed. Now when I make big purchases, I find the potential purchase online but fly to the city, make the purchase then and rent a car to get my product home safley so it's not damaged by shipping companies. The White and Blue Les Pauls were beautiful looking with the translucent finish.

Yes, and No The Buyer does have some responsibility to request additional photos before purchase. Where it myself I would request quality photos of every inch of those guitars before paying what I would expect to be in the very low 5-Figures. But that is just me, I purchase maybe one guitar every two years. Austin on the other hand is maybe purchasing a guitar every 3 days or so. More than likely he only has limited time for his due-diligence. The poor packing is a real shame as those sunken lower strap buttons really took a hard hit to deform the case and drive them into the body.
