I have one. Ive owned a ton of “nicer” guitars. I’ve used boutique pickups as well in owned guitars. This is the best one I’ve ever played by a mile. It feels amazing and sounds unreal great. Complaining about scarf joints is not something I will ever do, it does not make it sound different and actually makes the neck stronger. Also over time wood that isn’t a single piece isn’t prone to warping as much. The profile of the neck can’t be talked about enough, it’s PERFECT. And the pickups are excellent, there is zero need to change them. Wiring is great, it’s an awesome guitar and comes with a high quality case. The gripes are 100% from people who haven’t played one and also might even have Gibsons that barely edge out over these newer Epiphones on quality. For the money you don’t need a Gibson these past few years unless it’s that time in your life you really want to own one.

I love my 55 Bonamassa. Lowered the action just a tad, but the rest of the setup was on point. I paid $721 shipped to my door. Looks great, plays ground, sounds great. I've actually been playing it over my Gibson Standard Gold Top with P90's. Definitely one of my favorite purchases this year.

I just ordered one for the following reasons: I’m just an intermediate player who wants to have fun. I have a Strat, Tele and a few acoustics. I have been looking at Les Pauls, but just couldn’t justify the cost. I know that buying an expensive guitar won’t make me a better player. So this one will hopefully make playing fun, which makes me play more and hopefully eventually play better. I like the sound of the P90 pickup. I like the color. So all in all is it for professional musicians? Who the heck am I to judge. Will it be fun to play and sound good? I hope so. A decent guitar for under 1K, I think is a good investment. Good luck to everyone and have fun playing 👍✌️☮️

I have two of the JB '62 335 reissues: one with the "signature neck" that never sees the light of day, and a regular one that I'm going to convert to a hard-tail (vibrato doesn't hold tune). It specs out about as close to a real '62 Gibson 335 (5-ply laminate instead of 3-ply), Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3, CTS pots with Mallory caps, as you'll find at the price point.

The Guitaristas bought one, it came with lose knobs. Mine also came with 'wobbly' knobs. I was trying to tighten my knobs and when I pushed the knob back on I didn't have the splines lined up, pushed down and pushed the saft to the bottom of the pot with a "snap". It still works, but is lower than the rest of the knobs.

Nice job Trogley. I figured you would eventually review this guitar. For my two cents, a good alternative would be the Epiphone Les Paul Custom P-90 with Ebony Finger board. $50 cheaper, practical soft case, etc. But one advantage of the Bonamassa is if you buy from his site you get two meet and greet tickets if you buy tickets to his concert. I'm going to see him in November in Minneapolis. Decisions decisions.🤗🤔😄

I like Epis just as much as Gibsons. Not sure if I'm seeing $850 there though, when a typical Standard is at 700 and a Custom at 800. Maybe including the hard case justifies the price a little bit? But then again, you can get more of a premium model like the Epi Wino Custom with a hard case at same price of 850. I suppose if you have thing for P90's, then this one is the way to go.

Genuinely don't understand the Joe Hate lobby. Is it just jelousy? The man is a hell of a player and has extraordinary gear knowledge (and taste). You'd think James Corden had released a signature guitar from some of the comments online...
@rcsutter26 күн бұрын
It's a strange phenomena, is it not? It's like there's people with internet sniffers tuned to Joe's name. Often the same people. I love his playing, his sound, and his live shows are excellent. Yes, he has an addiction. One many of us share. We love to buy guitars. Joe works his ass off touring the globe, he can spend his hard-earned money on whatever he wants. If I was him I'd do the same thing. I'd rather it be him than Jim Irsay!
@paulketchupwitheverything76724 күн бұрын
I enjoy listening to Joe talk and enthuse about gear and guitars but I'm not a big fan of his music. He's picked up on a commercialised blues genre that I find a bit cosy and formulaic. There are still plenty of good guitars out there for people to buy and play, so it's not as if he's preventing anyone else from getting their hands on a guitar.
@24avenged2420 күн бұрын
He's the lounge band of blues players. His music is so unoffensive that it's uninteresting. He's obviously a great player, but there's countless great players that are similarly weak song writers that the internet doesn't dick suck in the same fashion. I've never made a comment about Joe before, and don't dislike him, but the love of him is just weird to me.
