my very first magic book was joshua jay's 'Magic the Complete Course', i got it as a gift from my grandfather who was a member of the magic castle for 2 decades and was acquainted with Howard Humberg and Dai Vernon for several years, it still is a ground breaking book. this Trojan Deck effect is the most incredible effect i have ever seen. Joshua Jay is the man.

The Vanishing Inc advert states "There is no deck switch, the effect has no sleight-of-hand whatsoever" ...and then he goes into a series of false shuffles & cuts. I particularly like the casual table mix @ 1:58, very nice. I'm going to wait for the reviews on this one.

This is Josh's performance style, that you can do or just leave the deck as is. It is up to you and your personal skill level. A little bit like the performance options for the Prism Deck.

@CardSharkGermany
@CardSharkGermany 2 жыл бұрын
And yet it is not. This is the beautiful part about the effect. You could even let a spectator sign a card or two in this deck and certainly his card(s) would be there, signed. Not sure why this would be necessary, but just saying... It is not a switch.

@@Musikpunx Well, sometimes you should do magic where there is NO explanation possible. I still have fun that a friend (muggle) is trying to find out, how the Rex Ignis performance could have worked. He asked all people who would come up with an explanation. So good he is not asking magicians. Every time his ideas about how it was possible to hold your hand above a candle without burning yourself are getting weirder and weirder.

Jemand schrieb in den Kommentaren: "not impressed".
@CardSharkGermany

This is amazing. Only "bad" thing is that the story to me at least is too drawn out. I'm sure plenty of creative stories involving "syncing up" or "fate" or a form of mentalism could be used here too. But surely this is one of the most impressive tricks I seen. Most magicians match just one card or call it but this is like a 52 card ACAAN lol

@@CardSharkGermany no, it's just not what they say it is... It's a highly gimmicked deck that they swear up & down you can let participants handle...I tried that about 20(ish) times & was caught & embarrassed every single time. The only way to do it is handling the deck yourself & even then I've had a few people ask why all the cards are stuck together as they pointed out how thick each double was... participants aren't as dumb as Mr Jay would like you to believe...there's a LOT more social pressure on someone with a camera crew focused on them...
